Well I already signed the petition but just let me say something :P
I'm getting a lot of opinions that the HoM wasn't really finished during the preview, and I'm starting to believe them. Even if it wasn't finished during the preview, keep on posting because Anet might need some help finishing the Hall and might actually read this thread to get some suggestions :P

I really hope that the HOM we saw in the preview was a Beta version of it, but on the other hand a beta version of something so close to the release date sounds way to crazy for it to be true.
I agree with the points in the first thread about whats wrong with the HOM. And the HoM was in my eyes the biggest disappointment of the expansion.
One thing I can understand is the the requirement of upgrading heroes armor in oprder to getthem on display. Personally I don't care of the looks of my heroes, but I would like to be able to display the heroes I use the most. So what about changing the requirement of the armor upgrade to a requirement of having used the hero for a certain amount of time in the game. That way only the heroes that you actually use will get a spot.
A additional feature I would like to see, beside the " Go to my Hall of Monuments" option is a kinda "Hall of monuments Caretaker" that person can funtion as the NPC minipet storage guy that is high on the players wishlist, but he could also function as a link between HOM and your guildhall. With link i mean that he could have a option "go to a fellow guild members HOM" then click on a name of a player from the guild and you will be taken to that persons HOM. That way players can explore fellow guild members HOM on there own, and that way you can really "brag" of your accomplishments. The caretaker could also be placed in the guild hall so players can be transported to their own HOM from the guildhall or visit other peoples HOM from the guildhall.

I agree with all of the listed changes, however I find making changes to Devotion and Honor the most urgent.
Thank you.

/agree and so, I have to say that the Hall of Monuments is a very cool idea and by that concept I say do keep it toon-based with the caveat to change the "customize" pet moniker to "registered" or something so that pets may continue to be used within the account or even traded, but can only be "registered" once.
I say keep it toon-based because it if the premise is to honor a single great hero, then it should do that job. One hero, one HoM. On the other hand, that is a very stringent slap to those who love GW and have made many many toons. It would be bad in my opinion to force them to do it for every toon, but then again they did do all the other stuff with each of their toons so there ya go.
Make sure the titles can be displayed no matter what (PvP or PvE), but only allow maxed titles to transfer some benefit to the GW2 toon.
Please remove the requirement to have hero uber-armor as the qualification for the display. DO change the look when you manage to get hero armor, but not for a standard.
Please DO show ME in my tapestry with armor. Not someone else. The Hall of Monuments to Someone Else (HoMtSE)?
Lastly, this is preview so I assume there are changes to be made and not everything is actually in place.

This is the first real instance where I can say something in Guild Wars needs improving. Everyone has touched on all the points here, so there's no need for me to re-iterate anything. All we can do is hope that Anet listens and responds.

could'nt agree more with all the points to change. Also, for the monument of valor, not just GWEN weapons but all the greens and nicely skinned golds that we've all worked so hard to obtain in the previous 3 campaigns!!!! i have like 50 bazillion golds and greens on all 10 of my lvl 20 CHars!!! Again I would also like to say that what about just the normal max armor we get for our many characters?? shouldn't we be able to display those armors as well, why does it have to be only ascended or obsidian armor?? what if we dont like the ascended or obsidian armor designs? I want my 10 max armors to be displayed on the monument and also same thing on heroes monument.. what if we dont like the ascended hero armors? why can't we just have all our heroes up on the monument with their normal armor...

I'm primarily a PvE player and I would like a bit more done for those titles please. I do PvP a lot too but seriously, rank 9? As stated, how many people actually have that high of a tier?
Also I agree, I believe that a large spectrum of weapons and armor should be allowed into the HoM. I believe it's a tad unfair to only allow EotN weapons.

Hero rank requirements are too high and should be as low as rank 6 hero and rank 3 gladiator to be shown. (both are not necessarily easy to get, although not extremely hard either)

I sure hope this isn't the Final version of the HoM.
Hell, even if Anet has to renege on their promise that everything in the HoM will provide a unique unlock in GW2, I'd rather be able to display more stuff with the understanding that not all that stuff will carry over to GW2...

Should be a collection of ALL the titles and Accomplishments that your ACCOUNT gets. Combined. Also the armors should not be full sets. That was just dumb.

It's an enormous dissapointment when one has maxed out 14 titles and see only 4 of them in just a textual description. This sucks bigtime. I have no problem with the existance of PvP emotes but making only PvP titles display in the hall of monuments is a big kick in the rear for the devoted PvE players.
It's time for the PvE player to get some respect from the developers. The least thing i would have expected is to be able to show the time spent on my character and account but there's no possibility for that in the hall.
I expected some kind of symbol or statue for every maxed title. Shouldn't be to hard for the artists to come up with something should it ?

The matter of account based versus character based is irrelevant to me; From what was available in the preview weekend, the Hall of Monuments fails miserably regardless of that issue, Hall of Honor being the biggest disappointment.
I'm a PvPer, with the preference of GvG. I've played in hundreds upon hundreds of GvG matches. All titles within the Monument of Honor are out of my reach. It's nice to know that Leeloof (r14) could be one of the 10 players with a monument for the Hero line, but something tells me those guys really couldn't care less about the Hall of Monuments. To me, the HoM is GEARED directly towards PvE players, yet they've been severely neglected with this Monument. Even I have been working on my titles just with hopes of displaying them. I'm sure many agree with me on this, but we could care less about what it unlocks in GW2, we simply want to be able to display the things we've worked hard for. During doule fame weekend, I tolerated HA long enough just to get my r3, for no other reason than I thought it would be funny to display that crappy little title (and anyone who knows me also find it funny, because I LOATHE HA).
Furthermore, the issue of having to keep minipets + armor sets in your inventory to be able to display them. Quick question: Has Anet lost their minds? Let's have some fun with Mathematics. Per character, with maxed out inventory capacity, we have 45 spaces. Let's say we want to display 3 sets of armor; 15 spaces. 30 spots left. Minipets? Sure, let's do 10. We're now down to 20 inventory spaces left. Play multiple facets on your character? Let's say we have 1 weapon for every attibute possible. 5 works for both casters and warriors, so we'll go with that number. 15 spots left. Are you a vanquisher? I am. I keep candy canes in my inventory at all times while vanquishing. 3 different forms of Candy Canes. 12 spots left. I also keep an ID kit and a Salvage kit. 10 Spots.
Are you SERIOUSLY telling me you expect me to do ANYTHING with 10 inventory spots? 5 lvl dungeons with 10 open spaces? Vanquishing? Even your casual exploring will net you more than 10 items.
The HoM was the one thing I was looking forward to with GW:EN. To my surprise, it was the biggest disappointment (and something I visited maybe twice the whole weekend) and was incredibly overshadowed by the gameplay of GW:EN. It received much hype from Anet, and Gaile stated on this very website to hold judgement for the weekend when we could see how it works. Well, I waited, and it was horrid. Worse than I even possibly imagined it to be.
Anet passes with flying colors in terms of gameplay. Fails miserably with the Hall of Monuments.
