I'm quite neutral to the hall. Here's what I think (sorry if it's been noted by anyone else):
We all need to stop and think of it in the sense that the Hall of Monuments is (as ANet have addressed many times) a bridge between your Guild Wars characters and GW2.
1. Account Based
- Yes, I agree with this one for now, but I know it's there as one of the key gaps between characters in each game. If you have a grand HoM for your warrior character in GW, it would make sense if your GW2 warrior you create - and only that character - is the one to receive the lavish bonuses from his predecessor's hard work, not all of your GW2 account's characters (though I don't think it would be fair to have the rewards based upon the classes of the connecting characters).
2. Monument of Devotion
- Again, the customization of these pets is to do with the bridge between games. Think of it this way - you don't need to put those minipets in your HoM right now to get the GW2 bonuses. If you like showing them off here and there, don't display them in you Hall!
3. Monument of Honor
- This is obviously the centre peice of the HoM! Of course you'd expect it to only display the most amazing, difficult to acheive titles available. I'd provide a little more lenience for the PvE titles though - perhaps the HM titles and Legendary Cartographer. If you think about it, the goodies your GW2 character is going to get will likely be phenomenal rewards for acheiving those high rank PvP titles - hence the difficulty!
4. Monument of Valor
- This one needs a change the most. Instead of just GW:EN weapons, we should be able to display our super-cool weapons from the campaigns! Keep it restricted to rare skins, but for the love of god my Tormented weapons need to be on there!
5. Monument of Resilience
- Yes, this one needs rethinking as well. We'll use obsidian as an example - if I have a male warrior in Obsidian armor, I'd expect to see a male warrior in Obsidian armor in my HoM, not a female mesmer. As well as that, by all means let it pick a random class/gender with Obsidian armor to displayer, just let me see my own character in it! I understand the link between GW1 and GW2 here, but this isn't much to ask at all.
6. Accessibility to HoM
- This one I really don't care about. How often do you really think you're going to visit your HoM? Not nearly as much as your Guild Hall, I'm sure - unless you really are obsessed with it.
7. Upgrades to HoM
- Terrible idea if you ask me. How dodgy would your fully decked out HoM look if there was a Xunlai Agent just standing somewhere in the middle? What's so hard about going through the portal into the EotN? And if you want a money sink, give some away!

As for the HoM being account based; I really think this makes more sense from a gameplay perspective. This should be a monument of MY achievements, not my characters. I prefer the idea of allowing me to show my 'top 10' or whatever things from whichever character on my account I choose.
I like the idea of a check-in / check-out system for the mini-pets. But I also think that if the HoM is account based, this problem is solved.

I can't /sign because i disagree a little on a couple points.
On 3. Monument of Honor, i agree there should be much better emphasis on PVE accomplishments. However, i also think the level of PvP needed to get into the monument is appropriate the point of the HoM is to celibrate the "best" people, the point of the HoM is to be VERY difficult to fill some of the things. Look at the effort to get something like Legendary Skill Hunter or Legendary Treasure Hunter, it's HARD i don't view as unreasonable to ask for account based ranks of PvP to require a nearly as mind-numbing amount of farming to get into the HoM.
On 4. Monument of Valor, i think that that shrine is good as it stands, MAYBE add a few additional slots for the "top" weapons from the other campaigns but you shouldn't be able to put any random weapon in there.
I definately agree that the HoM should be account based. Otherwise it would truely be impossible to fill with things like Defender of Ascalon and Legendary Survivor being mutually exclusive.

I really don't see why some people despise PVE so much...
I also don't understand what those same people are expecting to have in GW2 thanks to their r12 PVP title...
I just wanted a self-praise shrine that you could upgrade with new wallpaper when you achieved a certain title...to then access it in GW2 and continue on from there filling it up with stuff

Each achievement shown in HoM is directly related to specific char. Also, it was mentioned that GW2 benefits will be tied to these specific chars. So, it's not logical a char that has not accomplished smtg (a title for example) to get the same benefit with the char that did it...Yeah i know we cannot take all the titles for all our chars but we need to make choices...this is HoM...so only the "best" chars should get full "benefit"...
2. Monument of Devotion: /not signed
For the same reasons i mentioned above. You would never get separate pandas for half a dozen chars, so why all of these chars get benefit for it? The char that won/bought the mini-pet (or the char you decide to assign it) should get the credit. Regarding customization, no-one forces us to customize mini pets. But if we want credit in GW2 we must customize. There are 26 kanaxai, so 26 should get credit for it...not 3.568 players.
So you have to choose, sell em and get cash+ectos or customize and get credit in GW2? you have to make a choice..but don't ask for both
My recommendation (especially for high end pets) is to wait to see the "benefit" and then customize if necessary.

The only change I noticed: Please let us choose *which* armors to display, instead of giving default placeholders.
As far as the Monument to Honor goes, I'd give my wisdom teeth to bet that they purposely did not include PvE titles during the PREVIEW ONLY!! for one simple reason: If you unlocked all those pve titles during the preview weekend, did not buy EotN, then went on to buy GW2, you'd still get the unlocks, without having bought EotN.

plz make HoM account based!
monument of devotion: the mini pets should be account based
monument of resilience: PLZ display the correct character armor. seeing that rit and assassin there instead on my actual profession makes me wish i can remove the armor display. it's HORRIBLE, i thought it was an unintended bug!
monument of honor: gamer, champion and glad titles should be lowered a bit. as i know, nobody has reached r9 champion. hero title is ok, as you get fame everytime you win but the other 3 are pure madness. too much is required to even get 1 point... top gvg'ers that gvg'd since guild wars is out are not even close to r9!
monument of valor: it should include high-end weapons from all campaigns! it makes no sense you can display armors from previous campaigns but NOT weapons.

As someone put it, its not MyGWSpace which describes it perfectly for me.
Some things need to be tweaked like the armors and some PvE titles would be nice too but otherwise I dont see what all the fuss is about.

like by holding down the shift key and taking it out. then typing the number you want in the box that comes up, that would be good...wait a minute, we have that!

well mostly, I can see a lot of problems with making the whole thing account based. But if It can be done well then that would be nice.
Perhaps if the minipet monument was made account based, so that as soon as any other character adds the tapestry to that monument, all the minipets you added on other characters automatically appear.
Some people are saying that not every character should have every pet in their own hall, mainly due to the rewards fro having them that will be avialable in GW2. But currently we can transfer them via storage onto any of our characters, the same should be possible in GW2, you can only gain that reward once in GW2, but it could be moved around...what's wrong with having that displayed in every hall?
I think being able to display other titles, in fact any title we like, would be a good idea, even if only certain max or v. high rank titles have an actual reward in GW2, the other titles can just be displayed so it looks pretty. Same goes for weapons, armour and non-upgaded heroes.
I also think it would be nice if the actual pet I tamed was shown, I'd rather see my Moa than a bear, a wolf, and a lynx hugging.
And allow faction titles please, I want to show the world I was loyal to the mighty Luxons.

1. Account Based
I really would like to keep it character based or having all character HoM's being in rooms next to the Scrying Device.
2. Monument of Devotion
Minipets should be at aleast account based OR if the character doesn't possess the minipet anymore, it would disappear from the HoM.
3. The Monument of Honor
I have always been worried about ANet favoring PvP players, and this is a clear sign of it or just a test version.
Solution: Being able to show 2 highest ranks of every title ingame.
4. The Monument of Valor
At least every green should be able to put on display. And goldens that have been modded. Many players still have the perfect gold weapon they have been using throughout the game, why can't they display it even if HoM should represent their characters, their immortality and their inheritance?
- Further Note: Would be extremely cool, if people could put in their fave golds, and ANet would pick the few considered "best ones", and have them as greens in GW2 bearing the original players name, like: Turma's Shadow Staff. Now that would be REAL inheritance.
Solution: All greens and goldens should be allowed to put on display.
5. The Monument of Resilience
Indeed, it should show your ascended armour. Again, HoM was supposed to be about you and your achievements. I have mixed armour, have had it for ages, Granite Citadel 15k monk armour with Dragon Arm Tats from Droknar's Forge, all dyed black. Looks cool, does cool, it is me, and about my character, never gonna have have other armour set... but not eligible for HoM??? I do not want to buy an armour just to show it in HoM if it does not represent me or my character.
Solution: Any armour set and combination should be allowed as long as they are ascended.
6. Accessibility to HoM
Shortcut key would be awesome.
Re-arrangement function on minipets and heroes should be further improved.
So, ANet wanted us to be able to immortalize our characters...current HoM doesn't allow anything that is personalized. What is the idea to visit other people's HoM's just to see the same endgame weapons that aren't even made by the character, but weapons of some long dead King or a boss.

It's like you read my mind.
So far HoM has been a big disappointment, with the changes suggested by the OP it would instantly turn from fail into win!

we have a thread going on our guild forums too about how the HoM was a big let dwn
customized weapons only show? thats crap i lend out my good stuff to friends and guildies, if everything was customized i couldnt help them out as much
theres more i didnt like but im sure it was alrdy said here, so far the HoM is pretty lame
EDIT: oh yeah i love mixing and matching armor sets, meaning.....i cont display crap there either. My monk have 2 pieces of ancient armor, 2 pieces of 15k tats and a primeval headpiece so he is doomed, even his 55 armor is a mixed set of kurz and more tats. I love my monk's armor and this was a big let dwn to see that it doesnt count for crap in the HoM (my same goes for my warrior, and a few others)
and yes make it account wide, i want to show all my armors, pets, titles, weapons at once, not just 1 at a time.........Hall of Crap
sry, anet, i rarely rant but after all my accomplishments i guess i wanted a Hall of Awesomness not a bare room when all my characters have 15k-like armors, great weps, 10 max titles (very near to 12, lol)........you get the idea.

HoM was HoD(Hall of Disappointments) for me during the preview weekend. Hall needs to be exactly like a guild hall except for that fact that its your own personal account based where you can travel "on-demand" with your friends.
First monument I clicked on was "honor". And quite an honor it was. After having lvl 4 in KOBD track with r8 in HA and r2 glad, I was astonished to see that you need to be r12 in HA to be on that monument. First off, how many r12s are there? Secondly, how can you expect a person to play in HA in its currect state to become r12? Please make it realistic. And r9 champion? Aww, come on there is also no PvE achievements mentionable! How easy is it to do legendary vanquisher or legendary guardian? Sure as hell, you can't iWay or ritspike it up! My impression was simple...there is no honor in PvE when you play GW.
Second I clicked on armor. It asked me if I was sure to display my elite kurz. With my nervous finger on left mouse-button, I clicked "yes". And what did I see? Two sets of paragon armors! Whoa. Prompty skipped the cutscene to see if my warrior was naked and got ripped of her armors. Thank God, she was still covered.
After that I went through all the other monuments. And all of them are not what I was looking for. Why would someone like to have a personalized pet for a character? It must be account based. If you don't have it in your account, you should lose it in HoM. For weapons, come on!! Took me several several days to get my tormented shield by doing DoA in its early days. Why can't I display that? Only monument that I did not care much about was the hero monument. However, you must be able to choose who to display and in what position on that monument.
Hope you set this right as it demands to be modified. So, Anet please come and pimp my HoM.
- Vel

i agree with the 1st option
Whats the use of have character based hall of monements
It should be account based
My warrior has wisdom seeker titles
Assasin has treasure hunter titles + Capped MOA Bird
Monk has a capped Spider Pet
Also many other Lucky Unlucky titles
Also my horror when I couldnt see my armor in the HOM
My assassin has elite exotic armor and what crap does HOM shows instead
Please make it account based rather than character based

I had a couple of disappointments in the HoM, including the PvE titles and my real armour not showing up for display, but one that I haven't really seen many people touch on is what I wanted to add here.
Monument of Fellowship
Pets - The pet has to be evolved, which is fine, but what we get is a generic statue of a bear, wolf and stalker which says "Animal Companion". If it has to be evolved, why can't we see a statue of the pet type, and what it actually IS? I'd like my Hearty Stalker to show a stalker and SAY Hearty Stalker. I understand that it may not be possible to put the name that I've assigned to the pet there, but I'd at least like something a little less generic.
Heroes - So your heroes need to have had their armour upgraded to be allowed into the hall, and I'm fine with that, since I really only upgrade armour on the heroes that I like and use and would want in my hall anyway.
However, when I put a hero with upgraded armour in, it... still shows the basic armour?! Why do I have to have an armour upgrade if it's not even going to show?!
Disappointing, Anet.
