The boost items are great for those hard missions (thunderhead, palace, and madness) and any dungeon.
Since I have more skills points on my assassin then I will possibly ever need, I see them as a good sink.

Imo they should restrict consumables to 1 at a time for hard mode otherwise it's just stupidly easy and cheapens the hm titles. I can understand people having difficulties but making hm into nm isn't the solution for bad players, because well they'll just stay bad rather than improving... Other than that they are a pretty good gold sink

.... I can't even get Powerstones of Courage yet...
Not enough Ebon Vanguard points. I spent all my time in Asura Country and very briefly skipped through the Charr homelands to finish their annoyingly brief quests.
But honestly I haven't personally used any yet.
The ones brought up by the PuGs in the Shards of Orr were definitely nice though....
I just.... I have a tendency not to want to waste single-use items... no matter the circumstances. I do NOT need more gold-sinks as I have enough trouble keeping my gold as it is (I have a stupidly large number of characters, and the need to fully kit out heroes on every single one).

Yes, thunderkeep is hard. I've tried dozens of times and they always reach Jalis because some noob leaves in the middle of the game.
But back on topic, I still say they are a good use of money/gold.

Yeah, I feel ya on that, too. I'm still sitting on too many candy canes from last wintersday and cupcakes from the anniversary on my warrior. I have them on her because she's going for the sweet tooth title, but I just rarely use them. Even when I rack up any DP, it's usually in a really high-level area, which will get rid of DP quickly due to xp, so I don't waste it.
Pretty much how I feel about the powerstone. It's like I said, it needs to be a severe f***-up for the whole team to be in the -30DP or lower, and justifying use of it. Otherwise, you can easily work it off. The other consumables are just not really worth it, I think. I guess in DoA, maybe, but I never do DoA, so it doesn't matter.

An easy way is to light the two torches and then hold up right where Jalis is. The Jade that come will aggro everything else (including other Mursaat and White Mantle) which means you get a large breather. Once they're dead then just camp a bit in front of him so you get all the aggro.
I did it in HM, the only hard part was getting there since you fight so much herders and KD guys

So why do people have a problem with making the game easier for those that have problems?
I mean they spent there money to play the game, if they happen to be really bad at it does that mean they should quit and get there money back?
Ive used 2 consumables so far on Duncan the Black, other than that they just seam like a good idea when your in a mission and cant afford even 1 party wipe.
Ive collected Birthday cupcakes, golden eggs, candy canes and other such items as well as the GW:EN consumables and just can't seam to find the need to use them, But I like having them in my inventory should the need arise.

Consumables are a really good idea I for one have completed skill hunting and getting UAX, any now have a ton of skills points with no use.
Then came along consumables. The only one I'm confused about is the one that gives you a skill point? :S
So you spend a skill point to get a item that gives a skill point... the heck?

I was confused about that one as well. The only practical use I could see if if some how one of your low lvl characters did not have enough skill points for whatever reason you could essentually buy him a skill point with another character.
However, I dont think at any time, With 6 PVE characters I needed a skill point
EDIT: I just read on wiki which also states what I preposed above as well.
