The easiest way to beat duncan is to stay below and spread apart, since spirits can't hit through walls and just use indrect damage/lifesteal (spiteful, spoil victor, etc.) and maybe one direct damage dealer that the monks can heal.

Sorry I blanked out the builds guys. I plan to farm this baby into the floor. If you're smart you can figure it out. It's not hard. Pls don't hate me :[ (I also posted a similiar build here a while ago and nobody liked it, so maybe I'm feeling a bit spiteful :/ )
Also, here is the deldrimor armor for Jora. We also got Livia's, but I guess I forgot to take a pic. Don't worry, it's not quite as awesome as Jora's.

Looks like a chopped up Barrage/Pet build to me.
3 rangers (2B/P, one BHA?)(I only see 2 pets)
2 Necro's (MM, SS?)(Maybe 2 Curses or even a blood spiker)(Your using Curse weapon skins)
3 Monks (Heal, Prot, Boon?)(Your friend is Mo/E so he's probably the Boon)

You can do each of the sub-dungeons and return to an outpost in between, your progress is saved on the quest. One member of the party must have completed the previous 3 sub-dungeons or the staircase to Duncan's dungeon is blocked off.
The difficulty varies quite a bit, there are some really easy sections mixed in with large, impacted mobs with crossing patrols and popups. Duncan himself is easy, you just need to figure out how much damage you can afford to put on him without overly taxing your Monks.
If you have a strong team of players you should be able to blow through the dungeon in about 2 hours, a bit more in the 3 hour range with a bunch of heroes. For 5 chest drops, plus a guaranteed onyx and deldrimor armor, it's definitely the dungeon to do if you have a team that can handle it.

just did Slayer's Exile...me (monk~heal~), my mate (Morana of Thanatos~blood/SV, SS for Duncan)(Necro), and our heroes --> Jora, Zhed x2 (1 earth w/ wards, 1 fire, Gwen(domination/interrupt), Tahlkora (Prot) and Livia (MM w/ Verata's Gaze)
Took us some time to get him down too. Gwen and Zhed provided the energy (soul reaping, they kept on getting wiped). The real pain imo is the mob you agro as soon as you enter this dungeon, right at the rez shrine. We had some Power Stones to help with the initial DP. After that, things went swimmingly. One of our Zhed's went E/R with Frozen Soil to stop enemies from rezzing (in all of the dungeons in Slaver's Exile),
I didn't get a screenshot of our winnings, but, I got 1 Onyx Gemstone, Deldrimor Armor Remnant, and a lame Serrated Spear. My mate got 1 Onyx Gemstone, 1 Diamond and a Deldrimor Armor Remnant.

just finished the first two with similar builds that the op posted, i tried those but couldnt get anywhere, never did i use a consumable, cause i forgot to bring them :P as for end reward, i got 2 crap golds

I'm doing all dungeons with a friend of mine, and we are always using a splinter barrage, 2 sf, 2 warriors (me and my friend),1 lod, 1 glight, 1 sor. We are doing all dungeons really smoothly, but do you think this build will work out with slaver's exile? In a few days we will try this out, doing all other dungeons first Is there needed some ss/sv/bf build? If so it's tme for norgu to get a proper equip xD + I should make vekk earth ele warder.
So:
2 War Whirling Axe Spam (a build I made rofl it's pretty good )
1 Necro SS
1 Ele AoE Fire
1 Ele Warder
1 Monk LoD
1 Monk Blight
1 Monk Sor
You think this will work out? Probably I will give the necro SS+frozen soil, eoe.
Gotta try it yea ^^

Although the difficulty is way below that of DoA, it's actually more fun IMHO. It's kinda the Anti-Doa in that so many team builds can be run with some success and still manage to win. Only a few skills are essential imho, frozen soil and consume soul being two. I was a little disapointed at the ease of it, esp the boss encounter(I thought he'd be taller. He's just a guy standing by a bonfire - lol) but since elite missions IMHO are supposed to be about fun, openess to new builds and a reasonable challenge to most teams I think Anet got it right.
It reminds me of FoW in many ways. Come hard mode it will present a larger challenge i'm sure.

I've only done sevletram so far, would have been a lot easier had I gone prepared with frozen soil, but other than the dwarves rezzing 5-6 times each fight it wasn't too bad.

I beat the first 3 bosses with 1 other player and 6 Heroes.
Only problem we had was the mobs in the room right before Thommis. Those caused us lots of problems both times when we beat Thommis. It seems like they are multiple mobs all bunched together, but we couldn't find any way to pull them apart. Both times we ended up having to run past them, to the res shrine right next to Thommis, and simply bypassing them. Is there some sort of trick to those particular mobs?
The mobs to Stormreaver consist of the same exact stuff as the mobs to Thommis, yet we steamrolled all of those. So what's tripping us up on Thommis runs?
And where are you guys finding players to party with? Every time I look it seems like no one in the applicable zones even knows about this mission much less has beaten the game to play in it.

did it a couple of days ago with guildies, we actully did it without frozen soil :O, but it would help alot to take it, maybe eoe too.
as for duncan, i found the monks couldnt keep up with my axe damage, BUT, the more hilarious part was he doesnt trigger on lifesteal, so i swapped to a vamp sword (with 0 in sword) and failed away for 20mins while 2 necros hexed him, mr charr dazed him, zhed on earth nuked the spirits. btw the 1-2 damage the sword did, wasnt returned.
a touch ranger might be really good in that last section

Worth it for the last dungeon vs Duncan imo. Not for Duncan so much, but for the mob you agro as soon as you get in. No matter how many times I tried, we kept on drawing the attention of those Stone Summit patrols as soon as you enter the dungeon. After you manage to get past that, and wipe the nearby toucher/ss spirits you're sorted

Be VERY careful when fighting the "Dark Watcher"... (creepy music) :P
Seriously, it's more of the same with the exception of AoE, the best approach, I think , with heroes is to bring buffs (like Save Yourselves, TNTF) and then might want to micro manage their flags a bit so that they are not all standing in the same spot on a dime. Especially in crucial fights. And take it slow and make sure the henchie monks have energy between fights. Mhenlo will not tell you he's low on energy, he'll just start wanding.

We did it again today with a more refined build. I tanked using the regular DoA ele GeoTank build, brought 3 fire eles this time around, an SS necro with Frozen Soil, a mesmer with Consume Soul, a paragon and 2 human monks. (Having two human monks greatly reduces the need to bring more defense than that.)
We plowed through the place in just under 4 hours, including breaks and one long afk. Frozen Soil makes the place like Sorrow's Furnace, if you know where to go and what to do you should be fine. This place should be highly MMable too I presume.
I think we'll through in an EoE somewhere next time and make it go even faster.
