wth
Mesmer im guessing simply by the fact you said "cant be that hard" that you havent done it. having said that it isnt all that easy. you can spend alot of time gettin wiped while tryin to get the right build. also for people askin why we throw builds around here? ummm cause we can, and not everyone wants to use pre-canned builds. some people actually like to (GASP) figure out things on our own. So if you use wiki like a bible GREAT, i use it all the time, however it doesnt mean people arent entitled to experiment and share it here. its in the TOS, community sharing. thats what these threads are for. if youre gonna flame people stay off the forumns.

Shoo then I am not flaming annybody just stating my opinion if you are here to flame people stay off the forums.
Just saying that it isnt hard because it isnt! in HM ok I can get into that but thats because A-net did a lousy job changing mobs etc etc but in NM undead are little pups compared to lets say titans in Nightfall or even the charr... all you need is enough protection and a way to take healers down fast the rest follows on its own easy enough?

Well, if you enjoy making all these builds up and failing, only to whine on here about it, great. I prefer to use a build stated to work and get the job done.

dan-the-noob `good for you` but can I ask how long it took you to complete? As I stated in an earlier post I can breeze through the levels but then the boss and the fire traps, no I`ll rephrase that, the fire traps and the undead spawns own my H/H giving me no chance to kill the boss. Watching Mhenlo healing whilst burning away is not funny and he seems to like it. Add to that the stupid distance from the res shrine which is definately a factor here this dungeon is so not worth it time wise unless of course you need it to complete the dungeon book.
Anyway do you wanna post your build and state which build you used that you found on wiki along with any other hints or tactics? After all we are trying to help everyone here and `get the job done`.

Just want to say that I really appreciate and admire people like Kaida and yourself who like to figure out these builds yourself... and then share. It's great for people like myself who don't have a lot of time to figure these things out.
Kudos and thanks!

An hour to hour and a half, usual time for dungeons right?

Do you mean traps around the boss? Can't remember if there were any. But if you mean the various traps throughout the dungeon.. i don't see why they are causing you problems. You shouldn't be fighting in or even anywhere near jets. You can even pull the monsters through the jets!

I never wiped at the boss.

At school atm and wiki is filtered I can post the link + teambuild later. It's listed in the notes section of the Shards of Orr page.
It was 2-3 smiters if i remember. I took [skill]Heart Of Holy Flame[/skill], but if i went back i'd be using Melandru (I stupidly didn't take it, was shutdown about 80% of the time.)
EDIT: first off, a big thank you to the retard who edited the wiki page for this dungeon. Great job, congrats.
From my memory, the smiter builds for 2 heroes were: [skill]Bane Signet[/skill] [skill]Castigation Signet[/skill] [skill]Signet Of Judgment[/skill] [skill]Banish[/skill] [skill]Holy Strike[/skill] [skill]Reversal Of Damage[/skill] [skill]Divine Boon[/skill] [skill]Smite Condition[/skill]
As i said this bar is now from memory, and i'm not sure whether banish, bane signet and holy strike were in there. You could change them for Smite hex and a res. You could also spec prot and bring Purifieing Veil (condition version of holy veil).
Your third hero should be an RC monk, i shouldn't have to list that build.
Hench: 2 monks + cynn are essential. Other is your choice, i always like to have the interrupter.
If you are a melee char, Dervs can of course take Melandru, other than that you haven't got much choice but to go /Rt for Sight Beyond Sight.. even with all that condition removal. Casters it doesn't really matter, although eles should go fire, mesmers could go fast cast nuker. Fire > undead.
For the boss: just go straight for him. Forget the archers. They die when he changes to soul form, and when his other comes back they respawn then scatter all over the place for some reason. Don't bother with the spirits either. Just attack him. Him only. It took me about 4-5 form switches to kill him.
If you are still having problems while using this build (hopefully not doing stupid things like running into traps), buy some consumables. If your now godly team still fails, i suggest going back to pre-searing or atleast learning how to play guildwars.

Even if your heroes don't have ANY runes or insignia, you'll be fine as long as you run smiters. SoJ works very well on mobs and Signet of Rage does over 200 dmg on some beasties there :P I activated Mantra of Inscriptions on heroes manually before the spikes. Pull the boss and you'll defeat him eventually (He is somewhat masochistic - loves to burn himself at traps lol).
I completed this dungeon with the following setup:
Mesmer (SoJ signet smiter)
- Tachikoma (SoJ signet smiter, no smiting or vigor runes)
- Dunkoro (SoJ signet smiter, no smiting or vigor runes)
- Ogden (SoJ signet smiter, no smiting or vigor runes)
Elementalist (Fire Nuker)
- Tachikoma (Prot)
- Dunkoro (Heal)
- Margrid (BHA)

Although people hate consumables I used a Essence of Celerity for the final boss ( I originally figured I would use it for the increased running speed from the rez shrine, but the increased recharge speed on the signets for the monks is awesome)

Got to the end boss in HM yesterday with Celestial Beaver and 6 heroes. Had Fendi down to just below halfhealth when unfortunately I had to leave due to spousal rage (it took AGES). We had a great method in the end for taking out the groups, and even the HM cleric + priest groups were manageable with no deaths. Honestly, other than the bodyblocking tactic someone else mentioned (hard without more humans), I'm not sure how it's possible to kill Fendi without several party wipes. Another 20 minutes and probably 1 - 2 powerstones and he would have been down (or we could have flagged our useless MM back out of combat and chipped away at him over a longer period I guess).
We went with 3 smiters (they died easily), a MM (bad idea with hindsight), 1 prot / 1 healer hero, a warder / sandstorm ele and an assassins promise / MS ele (AP not necessary with hindsight - one MS is enough for every group). Think with a tweaked group build it is fairly manageable, although the end boss is tedious.
Tactic = flag smiters and healers behind warder. Put wards up. Ping group with arrow. Prep sac glyph, and drop MS just as they arrive at the warder. Spike bunched up group with all aoe spells (liquid flame, fireball, sandstorm etc) and finish them with light of deldrimor. The cleric normally runs to the frontline, so if you target him you should take out most of the wizards / brutes too, then pick off the priest, then archers, illusionists and necros. You should be able to do this in almost all cases without any deaths. The enchanted weapons are harder than the undead groups IMO.
