I perfer 20/20 wand + 20/20 offhand focus or Engery +15/-1 Pip engery regen. It's not a bad green, just not my perfernce.

(The 20/20 wand can be crafted in factions for 5p)

I am a bit surprised at what skin they chose, considering how common that skin is.

You forgot a few...

Koosun's Fire Staff has the bog standard fire staff skin but is green (ho ho) and can't be dyed

Amadis' Air Staff ... standard air staff skin

Galigord's Stone Staff... oh wth, I can't be bothered...

Here's a thought... why is it I can't dye my Wayward Wand, yet I can dye my Straw Effigy (endgame, not drop). Both are greens but only one dyes? And why is it I can dye that effigy which is a green... yet I can't dye my nice gold storm artifact ???

Ho hum.

Well... there are people whom are like you, value items on it's actual "usage", rather then the item's appearences!

But yet, you have to understand, we're living in a world which often judge stuff on it's appearence. That's just the part of our human-nature. P.S: Oh about the new skin weapon.... I agree with the topic, a lot of green in GWEN are re-skin and I'm upset with it. The only 2 ele green staff I like are Lord Glacious Staff and Eisnil's Fridgeheart, they both have new Icicle Weapon skin with different color shade!

Oh and... not just Ele have bad green skin, Mesmer in Illusion side got bad looking weapon..... Most good or rare-design weapons are not greens, they're rare weapon whom rarely drop in dungeon or chests in GWEN.

Simple Rule of Thumb.

Buy Greens for Affordable stats
Buy Golds for cool skins and variable stats.

I think giving Greens rare skins (Cough, Murakai's Reaver, Cough) sort of insults the players that farmed so hard for that skin. But There ARE other fire wands out there with better stats:

Hajkor's Flame (Semi Cool Skin, sweet Stats)
Golden Boar Wand (Cool Skin, nice Stats)
Wayward Wand (O.K. skin, nice stats)

I'm not going to list all the fire wands and thier skins in this game...

Seriously, bitch about one green wand and the fact that it's a reskin. I have news for you, buddy, About 7/8's of EoTN is Reskinning. Monsters, Some weapons, Armors, greens, not many new things to see.

And it's not just elementalists... you'll find that there are OTHER greens that use the same skins as common weapons....

I'm confused, I like the skin, personally. OK, so its common as hell... so!? Just because it drops like water, and can be crafted/exchanged from collector doesn't make the skin any less cool.

Remember, how 'cool' a skin is = entirely subjective.

Though I agree with the stats being crap. Meh. Hero food, IMO.

I accept that elementals do have alot of nice greens ingame, throughout all the campaigns, but why do they have to throw in these duds? That was my first green drop in GWEN and I was excited until I looked at and read its stats!

You should be able to spot a green weapon a mile off and know whether a person is using one!

But weren't you the one that said that the weapons were great, the armor was good, there wasn't grind in GWEN, ect?

This weapon is no worse then the rest. If you are gonna change one, you might as well change the rest.

While doing that, why not actually make armors?

Why not eliminate the need to grind?

Oh yeah, that would eliminate the WHOLE EXPANSION!

Some greens will (and do) have pointless mod combinations/skins. This has been a fact ever since the green was introduced. Anet didn't even have to introduce these, they chose to. Whine if you want, but you look pretty silly to me, whining about (sometimes) useless vanity items that most people don't give their left ear about.

Lord when did I ever say I thought the weapons and armor were great? I've never once (until now) commented on the weapons, and I do think the armor is all re-hashes. How ever the one you see me wearing has grown on me!

But ive never once stated when you say I have! Either way, how does that have any baring on my view about grind in GWEN?

I also never said there wasnt any grind, there is. My entire point was that the grind in GWEN and the rest of the game is not critical to gameplay and its optional! There is nothing ingame that you have to grind for, which is critical to gameplay and which you cant complete the game without.

Grind for elite armor, elite weapons, titles and ranks are all purely optional and do not effect whether you can or cannot play any aspectsof the game...

We have 1.5k armor for those who dont want to grind for elite armor.
We have weapon crafters who dont want to grind for greens or endgame weapons.
You dont need to use or have maxed out pve only skills to complete the game or play elite zones.
You dont need higher ranks in any titles to complete any part of the game.
You dont need huge amounts of gold to play the game.
You dont need 100% exploration to play the game.
You dont need protector or guardian to play the game.
You dont even need to complete all the mission or quests in some campaigns.

If a person chooses to grind those things to either look nice, or benefit themselves in some way then great. They can choose to do that! But no one if forcing them or holding a gun to their head! If they choose to grind to prolong the gameplay the great too, if they choose to stop playing because they dont like grind then fine!

All grind is optional and the game can be done without it! Look, Im not getting to this grind arguement again! Thats why I left those other two threads, so dont drag it into this one.

End of the arguement about grind in here!!

Hmmm... a wand requiring 9 Fire, thus a wand for a fire ele.
Fire eles use Fire Magic to do their hard hitting work.
20% HSR on Fire Magic.
Occasional skill recovery on long recharges.... hmm. Yeah that's awful.
Ele's use Attunement.
Attunement is an enchantment.
Enchantment guarantees +5e without penalty.... hmmm. Yeah that's terrible too.

Yes, I have seen better and worse. It's not like the thing is +5v50 with 20% HSR Strength or AL +7 while hexed.

theres nothing wrong with the stats at all, the stats on loks are the best stats you can get on a wand.... skin sucks, but thats all. dont complain.

That wand has perfect stats. A collector's blue would require you to spend extra platinum so you can get perfect mods...so even though the skin is very common, the wand your elementalist is wielding has excellent power. If you want vanity, I suggest you go for the destroyer wands or perhaps look into getting a perfect wand with another skin you can really enjoy.
