Nah, i'd go for a 15% in stance, 20% vs plants and customised. That way you still get the energy and you should be in a stance all the time so you'd always get the bonus.
Also Flat Bow since it has a faster attack speed than a Longbow which counts for more than anything. Specially when it comes to interrupting Healing Spring.

poisonous might be more helpful. an elemental bowstring would do less damage against the spiders (i recommend a vampiric shortbow for spiders). kindle changes your arrow damage to fire anyway.

I'm almost sure the -2 longbow is just called longbow, but is a composite/recurve class bow.

This is a very good solo build for the Forest. I think I'm going to start dropping Mantra of Lightning sooner or later since the damage Spirit Shephards is pretty minute as long as you stay out of spellcasting range. However, I haven't thought about what skill to swap in.
Anyways, I have a challenge for you or anyone else who is interested:
Use this build to clear out the Undead guarding the bridge and the two Shadow Beasts that spawn afterwards. I've done it.. just wondering if anyone else is able to kill all the undead. It's completely time consuming and not worth the drops if you're farming - just wondering if anyone else has done it or not (with this Ranger build or any other R/X build in general).
Here are some screenshots:
This is after I killed the 2 groups of 2 Beserkers/Trapper skellies and the 2 bonders that were a little more back. Also, the 3rd Trapper that spawns is dead too.
Another view of the two groups of 3 Beserkers/Icehand.
Shadows Beasts... these are way too easy compared to the part beforehand.
Cleared. :]
Anyways, did this because I was bored since we lost faction half way through clearing the forest..

Reward for the quest: Blankets for the Settlers.
You can get it from Captain Greywind in the Ascalon Settlement. North Kryta Province.

I've been thinking about bringing Distracting Shot just to make Apply Poison easier... the problem then is that i use Savage Shot with Dual Shot to 'spike' them. Kills em much faster i find.
NB, NEVER bring Mantra of Flame instead of Physical Resistance by accident Somehow i managed to clear the forest (cept undead) anyway though....
After you've finished run towards the Forge. I killed a couple of abyssal over by the entrance and 1 dropped me a shard

Without RtW or FW the arc of the flatbow pretty much makes up for its short refire rate, i find..

Tried this today, and 6 times out of 7 I got stuck at the same place: where you have to get past three shadow guys, then lure a bunch of icehands back to the shadow guys.
Once, out of all the times I tried, could I just run past the icehands, and the rest of the run was easy.
How the heck do you guys get those icehands to attack the shadow guys? I fire with the bow at them, but they don't follow me, and while I'm trying to pull the skellies I get killed by the shadow guys burninating me to a crisp...

Awesome build, but i've had a lot of trouble when 2 ACS spawn. Most of the time I can lead them away from eachother but sometimes they stay together and I can't handle the poison and damage. Any advice?

yeah that part is pretty hard... i find i get a spawn like that every one out of three runs... what i usually do is throw up a TU then run in w/o using Storm... aggro the icehands to the shadows and then throw up another TU and they should be engaged fighting which leaves you to run by with ease

if more then one spawns i'll run away... after HS and AP wear off i'll come back to attack... if your arrow aggros more then one walk away slowly until the second runs back... just takes practice

You don't always need to lure the Skellies back to the Shadow Army mobs; it depends if they're blocking the way or not. Heck, if you're scared to drag them into each other, just wait a while and see if they will wander into each other. If not, use TU before you go.. pop an arrow and run back.. then TU again. It's tough, I died doing that before as well.

Unless you're by the skellies, your best bet is to use Stormchaser to break agro and then try to either agro one of the spiders from the side which it has no enemies or by running back and triggering Stormchaser just enough to break the further back spider. It's not too hard, just takes practice if you haven't ever pulled apart two sets of mobs. (Hell, try splitting those damn Skeleton Bonders apart... that's tough enough as it is)

I like the video remmeh, but theres a part i cant figure to get through without dying. You know the part where you cross to the other side, along the edge where you went in your video, armoured spider cave pops up and they kill me because they come out in 2 different places and there are too many of them. So.......help?

Alright, so let me draw something up here:
The top part is the bridge, the bottom things are where the elevated parts are with the Spirit Woods. Now when you're running, you'll pass the skeles and be inbetween the elevated parts, 2 spiders drop there. KEEP RUNNING. You should be able to get to the 'x' just fine. There will be 2 woods along that wall, be sure not to aggro them, and there will be a patrol of 3 sheps and a wood coming by, don't aggro them either. Now very carefully move down a bit, 1 spider should drop, kill it. Now take on the 2 woods, there should be 1 more spider in this area. After that, there'll be 1 more spider and that patrol to deal with, and the sheps and worms in the area that runners call "F2." After you're done with those, you should be able to figure out the rest.
EDIITTTT
Ok, the thingy didn't work, gimme a sec.
Fixed

run past 'em... and if you do run past em after crossing over, be sure to account for the shepherd patrol that will come near where the spiders drop :O i've been killed many a time before by those guys...
