Against the Destroyers HM: What Gives?
Sooo...if you don't manage to defeat the overwhelming last wave that comes at you from all sides, they merge together and camp like little snipers in any given FPS...and they refuse to budge. Meaning I can't beat the quest because there's a group of 10 or more that can just rip through my party in two seconds flat. Pulling does nothing.
Any suggestions on how I can avoid this issue so I can beat the quest? Thank you in advance! Oh, and by the way, I'm a warrior primary.

my friedns and i took a MM, lots of AoE, pain inverter and were trying intercept smaller groups before they all merged into one gigantic one - went surpirsingly smooth.

I've completed this quest with :
The 3 necros build of Sab (with one human necro player)
One ranger interrupt
One ZB monk (me) with protective spirit and spirit bond
2 Ranger Barrage/pet
one P "they're on fire" +"anthem of flammes"+ "Go for eyes"
It was boring with this team very very easy (NM and HM)

Curses Necro, Unsteady ground / Ash Blast earth ele, Ursaan Blessing, Illusion hench.
Played as Monk bonder + 3 heroes + hench. Trick is just to take bucket loads of melee shutdown then self-damaging hexes.

works major wonders.
OH, and having up delver title. hopefully it is nice and high :P
i was ss, pain inverter, alkar's. had minion master (jagged bones/death nova/shamblers/bone minion), spirits rit (shelter, rit lord, displacement, shadowsong, pain, vitals), water ele (ward against harm, ward against elements, maelstrom, deep freeze, ice spikes), 2 monk types, 2 warrior hench.
did perfectly fine. had 1 wipe at the very beginning on the vaettir (gotta say nobody was fighting or something??), but i got back in and it went way better from there, without even needing to use edibles
if this build does not work for you, not sure what will, as this is what i used in a 1-shot deal ._.
watch what you point at too. target hardest hitters first, like destroyer of earth, most warriors, etc. throw acid at clumps if you can help it, dont bring any fire eles, as they do like no damage for obvious reasons.

If you get wiped and lose the golems in the midst of the destroyers(at the point with the norn), try aggroing them and running towards the res shrine usually 1 or 2 don't run back so you can kill them easily, then rinse and repeat.

I just did this mission and I must say that it is without a doubt the hardest mission in HM out of Elona and Tyria. This was making me long for the days of Call the Torment and mass titan break-downs. Honestly, warriors controlled by the AI are jokes (except Aatxes obviously) but the Destroyer warriors were pretty much nearly one-shotting my warrior. Maybe I'll try a largely physical party comprising of warriors and paragons since MoW, Olias and Livia weren't feeling too well

Me and my mate did it with MoW and Vekk i was amazed (we had 3 heroes in first section becasue human player left, and in next part there was 4 of us and we completed it :O)

If this is the mission from Jalis, just take a splinter barrage. Once the destroyers ball up on the dead norn, you can splinter from the ice bridge. It's exactly like that old margonite farm. o.O

What I did was at the start to dodge the dryders. they will kill on their own the first and if you are lucky, also the rest of the waves of destroyers that come from their side. Also, don't stand in the center of the area, but go up to the white bridge. That way you can carefully aggro one group at a time. Even if they clump together, you can separate them with a longbow.

Triple Chop, Nightmare weapon, splinter weapon, and then cycle between both weapon spells. Zealous weapon helps but isn't a requirement.

try setting all the golems to defense too. they leeroy too much as melee and get stuck in groups of destroyers. that is how i had it set in normal (all melee) and i got wiped so many times it was almost a qq fest.
when i went to hardmode, i had them all on defense.
they have good healing and tend to stay where you can pull them away if they die

You need a Necro.
Enfeebling Blood - weakness vs tons of melee opponents helps.
Reckless Haste - make them miss
SS - make them kill themselve
Mark of Pain + RANGERS, MM HERO, other PHYSICAL attackers -> huge damage.
Let Eles be Earth Warders and use Unsteady Ground as suggested. Fire Nukes are no help vs destroyers, and Eles should realize they can excel in defensive and support roles, too, not only in spamming aoe spells.

Couldn't possibly agree more. And toss in Barbs to deal with the bosses. Minions + Barbs is pretty effective too.
