throw dirt would be useful if you could use expertise, otherwise its only 3 seconds with a 45 second recharge

I know you can do this with the CC sword since you have 0 in swords and you do your damage from Riposts and Glads D. But if you can pull this off with the full wintersday equipment that would be awesome. And since you find this game sooooooooo easy it would add some challenge to your daily routine.

Well I'll still have to craft one of the CC swords, and get a +5 Defense mod for it.

Well, I dont think you can mod those swords, I havent tried, but I have heard they dont mod.
One thing I should mention (it was asked earlier) a good place to practice this style of build (without spending the 1K) is Dunes of Despair mission. At the very begining there are several groups of losaru bladehands that all use ripost (not savage slash though unfortunately) but it will get you practiced in switching weapons, etc. You will need to not wear any armor to get the full effect of the damage the attaxes can do.
Its not an exact replica of the situation, but its the closest thing I could find to try without spending the money on the UW.

thats why i suggested throw dirt. maybe do something like this (currently testing this, will post results)
weap slot 1 - sword and shield
weap slot 2 - wand and shield
weap slot 3 - bow for pulling
weap slot 4 - staff for extra energy
how it could work. wand to activate bonettis defense, then switch too staff and cast dust trap. then switch back to wand and repeat as needed

Staff would increase your max energy, but once you switched back your energy would be reduced anyways. So in the end, it gives no bonus at all. So long as your max energy in glads can meet the dust-trap cost, you'd be no worse off... and the problem of likely being interrupted is still there.

Racthoh,
How do you switch weapons. I try using the icons which I put next to my skill bar, however, I noticed that 50% of the time my weapon does not switch when I click on it, and this result in me striking the aataxe with my sword resulting in instant bleeding! Do you use the F1, F2 key, or do you assign them to another quick key?

Read the very first post carefully by Racthoh, I believe he says to move back with the
"s" key then switch, if you are a "wasd" user, I don't know anybody who redefines the
movement keys, I am still waiting to try this out, trying to get an IDS at the moment.

well i'm not racthoh but i will atempt to help you
the weapon switching thing was one of the things that was stoping me when i first started to use this build ...heres a few tips:-
1. make sure you press the s key to stop your current action before switching
2. make sure you your not using any skills when switching as this is where you get that "i switched but it switched right back again " thing happening..
3. Try to practice the key patern on your keyboard
I.E. F1 (Sword & Shield), 3 (Deadly Riposte), 5 (Enfeeble), F2 (Wand & Shield), 1 (Gladiators Defense) ...and so on
Hope that helps !

Thanks,
I do hit the s key "back" before I switch, but I wondered if you all used the F1-F4 keys to switch your weapons. I was just clicking on the weapon icons with my mouse and ocassionally it did not switch.
I wonder if I also try to switch it before riposte gets used so that might be why it is not switching over to wand. The other thing that I forget to do is engage once i switch to the wand. Do most of you hit "C" and then space bar to re-engage?

Dahnel did a nice job of summing it pretty well.

In my videos (if you downloaded them) you'll notice that I mouse over my weapon sets indicated that I do in fact click on them to switch. However recently I've switched to using the F1-F4 keys to change my weapons.
If you switch back the wand, and Riposte has yet to be used then the icon will simply remain there. If you switch back to the sword it will get triggered.
To avoid attacking with your sword because sometimes you won't switch weapon sets is to ensure that when you're making the swap you are finishing your current attack. I advised to change when one of the stances starts to flash but make sure to finish your current attack before attempting the switch to prevent any chance of swinging your sword by accident. Just keep an eye on the icon during the swap to make sure everything works out.
Hope that isn't... too confusing.

hey, racthoh, i was thinking of a seperate W/N build, cause im not smart enough to time the Riposte / Deadly Riposte thing
i was thinkin of 2 curses skills : Insidious Parasite and Parasitic Bond.
as their names imply, both skills help you gain health and also hurt the enemy
Insidious Parasite could be used on Aataxes to almost completely counter their damage when their weakened and your dolyaked and to do quite some damage that is up to almost par with the Ripostes, so you can remain at top health even when bleeding, and Parasitic Bond on the smites to survive their shield of judgement or if your getting spiked and dont wanna lose 40 armor, cause they use smite hex ever so often, and parasitic bond heals whenever it ends, or removed.
yes, i was thinking that energy might be a problem, but i figure if i let bonetti's last the entire 10-11 seconds, i could stay in top shape for energy. but then i have to factor in getting enough adrenaline for bonetti's and Watch Yourself after casting I.P. and Enfeeble on the aataxes.
just a concept, and im probably gonna test it out this weekend and i was wondering your input ^^

Two words: Smite Hex. The main reason why I only use the one necromancer spell from the curse line. Also, you're not supposed to attack when they have Shield of Judgement in effect. It lasts for about 20 seconds, so take a look at your skillbar. If Dolyak Signet is at about half recharge, you can start attacking when it gets to that point again (since whenever it fills you should be activating it).

I've personally never used it, but I believe you have to time the deaths so that one dies as the signet is about to recharge.

He means that if you're fighting many things at once and you don't block them.
You can take the aatxes by bodyblocking them on each other, and maybe graspings since they're weak, but dont try smites

hmm.. just a qick thought. is the wand really necessary for killing the aataxes?
it does not do much damage, and not having to switch weapons would decrease the difficulty of the run alot.
What I mean is this: you aggro them as usual but then you just stand there and take it, letting them bleed and pummel themself to their death with out attacking at all...

You don't use the wand to kill them, you use it to build up your adrenaline quicker.
