Most likely when HM comes out they'll increase the drop rate. They can't give you all the goodies in one month.

Not one single Relic or Chalice.

Out of curiousity, is it true the blindfold cannot be dyed? if this is true Id like to know now before I waste *more* of my time.

Why not? The drop rate is bugged. Blindfolds aren't such prestigious items that it takes HM to get them. It's just a blackish bar across your face and can't even be dyed. That's not so much a goodie, at least from where I'm standing, that I should have to wait til hard mode to get a decent drop rate of the items use to trade for it. The dread mask looks like a random Dragon Festival hat. It's bugged plain and simple until Anet chooses to say otherwise.

The first time I did the dungeon, I got a chalice from the first enemy I killed. As you can guess, I still have yet to see another one drop. My first thought was "Hey, I can get that headgear pretty quickly maybe." By the end of my second time through I had changed my position somewhat.

I've done about 30, and have gotten 17 Golden Rin Relics (don't know how many chalices I've gotten, but I get them much more frequently then rin relics), been selling them for 30k a pop while its hot. Maybe because clearing out dungeons isn't people's forte.

Most people do Cathedral of flames as fast as possible, skipping un-necessary groups, which I go out of my way to kill, and just so happen to drop diessa chalices and golden rin relics often.

Fair enough. But there is a fine line to the balance. You've just stated one end of the arguement. Unfortunately, the drop rate as it is is almost at the absolute other end, that is the drop rate is obscenely low. There's maybe a small handful of people who have the blindfold/mask. At this rate, I doubt if even a quarter of GW players will have either mask or blindfold in a year's time. Not that I'm saying there won't be enough of these relics to have dropped to give this quarter of the population a mask or blindfold.... but most people want one so you'll have a lot of people with somewhere around like 3-10 of these relics and nothing else to show for it. Some will have to give up and sell, others will try to hold out.

This is the dread mask. I got it in the 2nd week after 1 week spent spamming in doomlore to buy relics. Yeah, it cost me the price of a small kingdom but I wanted it.

I to was fed up with the low drop rate on the relics. Even paying 10k+ each I'd go hours without finding a seller. In the beginning I was able to buy a few for 500g each but as people learned what relics were and what they were for I started to get competitors. The bidding wars began the seems to have found level ground at the 10k each mark.

Farming the relics will give you something to do until GW2 is released. Or, you can be like me and buy them at rediculous prices.
