I tried SV, and I tried Life Transfer. I kept running out of energy before Magni ran out of life. So instead, I went N/Rt with this skill bar:
[skill]Grenth's Balance[/skill][skill]Necrosis[/skill][skill]Faintheartedness[/skill][skill]Painful Bond[/skill][skill]Pain[/skill][skill]Displacement[/skill][skill]Shadowsong[/skill][skill]Dissonance[/skill]
Soul Reaping: 2+1
Curses: 8+1+3
Communing: 12
Channeling: 10
Sunspear Title Track: r10 (Legendary Spearmarshal)
You can use this build without a maxed sunspear title - it just might take a little longer to kill some opponents
Equipment
A staff or wand/focus with HSR/HCT all spells is useful. +Energy mods are useful. You will also need a longbow.
Usage
Enter the ring, but do not aggro your opponent. Cast your spirits in the order indicated from left to right, spreading them out in a line across the arena. Let your energy return to max in between casts.
Once you have your spirits up, equip your longbow and fire one shot at your opponent. This will get your spirits started firing off attacks. Re-equip your staff (for the energy), and cast Painful Bond and Faintheartedness on your target. Spam Necrosis once the target is hexed. Most foes will only require one or two casts of Necrosis before they surrender.
To fight Magni, follow all the steps above, except wait to cast your hexes until AFTER he changes to bear form. He loses hexes during his transformation. Spam Necrosis like mad, being sure to reapply the hexes periodically. Magni uses Purge Signet, so you will have to make sure he is continuously hexed. Eventually, he will kill off all your spirits and come at you. Let him hit you ONCE and once only. Immediately activate Grenth's Balance. He should submit straight away in most cases. If not, make sure he's hexed (with faintheartedness), and fire off Necrosis a time or two. Be sure you run around so as not to give him an easy target.
Variant
If you are confident in your ability to avoid most foes (excepting Magni), you can replace Displacement with Bloodsong for additional damage. This would also be an appropriate swap if your sunspear rank is low.

Pwnt him with 55 using SV.
Cast it, let him purge it, recast.
Dont recast again until his Purge Signet has been wasted removing it about 2-3 seconds before it ends anyway xD
Got my 2 bonus heroes now also woot :]

i beat him 6 times today to get the cup and my crown, ele/rt, spirit spam for the win. literally the quickest fight i have ever seen, he last 45 seconds maybe?, also I used "you move like a dwarf" to interupt his bear form. it 10 energy instand cast knockdown and you can easily interupt it cuz he ALWAYS tries to cast it first.

i used that EXACT same build, some guy in gunners hold told me about it (might have been u), and it didnt work too well for me. granted i could own everything that came at me, i couldnt take out bison. i got to him and haze wouldnt interrupt bear form, and he just used purge sig to get rid of dazed. so for a sin, ive actually been using the a/d solo HM elemental farmer. it worked well for the first 2 parts, then for the final one, i got pwned
EDIT: i take it back, used this build and got me a crown, now if only the crowns werent so bad looking...

After trying around 10+ times finally got a build that do win 80% of the tournament and Defeat Magni
Headbutt Brawl(PvE skill from Killroy) >> the real killer 3/4 at KD with some damage and doesnt blow out all your adrenaline
Steel fang slash >>> Adrenaline boost
Dragon Slash >>> same as Steel fang
Hamsring >>> A must
Berserker stance >>> qiuck adrenaline start up
Fail >>> Your main IAS stance
Deadly Ripose >>> must have
Healing signet >>> Need to tell?
Problem for this build is no condition removal so you gonna depend on shield or rune that reduce blind duration.

Well, after trying Blood builds all day, and spending 10k on the battles, I gave up and went 55 SV and beat Bison on the first try.
[skill]Spoil Victor[/skill][skill]Necrosis[/skill][skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill][skill]Blood Renewal[/skill][skill]Mending[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill]
But I really wish someone would play around with the earlier build I was trying:
[skill]Soul Leech[/skill][skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Enfeeble[/skill][skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill][skill]Blood Renewal[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill]
This build is a LOT of fun and it gets to Bison every time (except vs Danika)
vs Casters use Soul Leech + PS
vs Melee use Insideous + PS
vs Dervishes or dual Warrior/Casters use both Soul Leach + Insidious + PS
vs Rangers use Blood Renewal ASAP (don't wait) + Insideous
vs Bison.......draw off his Purge Sig with Para Bond or Enfeeble. To damage him PS + Insideous works...until you run out of energy. He doesn't attack often enough for Balthazar's Spirit/Essence Bond to be useful, and the /Mo secondary is crucial.
You can also go Enfeeble + Spirit Bond for defense and that works better energy wise, but still draws too much.

how my rit did it
[skill]spirit siphon[/skill] [skill]pain[/skill] [skill]shadowsong[/skill] [skill]wanderlust[/skill] [skill]boon of creation[/skill] [skill]leech signet[/skill]
(You move like dwarf and vampirism are the ones that won't wiki)
Code: OAWjAyiDJT2kMT+gfTnNnTOT9AA
Boon before the timers counts down, drop pain and vamp a little forward, but not enough to draw aggro yet, drop wanderlust and bloodsong in the back. Then run up and attack leech his bear form, dwarf him, he will purge and move into get hit by the spirits, attacking pain and vampirism first, just keep hitting him and keep him close to you instead of your spirits as long as you can, then dwarf him as often as possible, if he manages to kill of a spirit or two cast them on the opposite side again repeat till he dies like a beatch, i never had to use spirit siphon but i brought it in case i ran low on energy

So I was like a monk... and ran Crip Anguish, Conjure Phantasm, Cry of Pain, and Leech Signet... yeah. Pretty piss easy really.
Hex him, interrupt Purge. Good times.
Anyone who struggles probably should like.. l2p already, the game has been out for 2 years.

As most have said, /Rt wins the tourney.
Shadowsong/Disenchantment/Anguish (specific spirits)
Bloodsong, Vampirism (Staple Spirits)
Painful Bond
I used Boon of Creation, Mighty was Vorizun, and Caretaker's Charge to round out the bar. Just cast the spirits you need for the oppenent you're against, aggro, and win.
I had a version that used all the available spirits and Spirit Chanelling as the Elite. Life Stealing of Bloodsong and Vampirism deal with mhenlo. Only problem is Argo if you forgot to take disenchantment.

I did mine with a Mesmer... took a while to get the build right, I was using a variation of a Sskai farming build from ages back, then I got necrosis
[skill=text]Signet of Midnight[/skill]
[skill=text]Mantra of Inscriptions[/skill]
Necrosis
[skill=text]Images of Remorse[/skill]
[skill=text]Ether Feast[/skill]
[skill=text]Web of Disruption[/skill]
[skill=text]Ethereal Burden[/skill]
[skill=text]Kitah's Burden[/skill]
As soon as you get within agro range, use Web of Disruption and you'll snap his bear form out of the way. He'll purge off that skill... So Immediately go in with signet of midnight, images of remorse should be kept up and spam necrosis on him. If you get to about 30-25 energy use Etheral Burden and make yourself ranged. Try to time your elite so that you can put the blind on him as soon as he's used purge signet, which he'll constantly use whenever its recharged. Doesn't take too long to do.

I'd like to know this, aswell. I went and got the skills listed for earlier derv builds, but then I realized that I don't have any earth damage scythes (and neither do any of my friends. :/)
I tried to use an enchantment that makes me deal earth damage, but that's 10 extra energy and I can't keep up with it. ~_~;

Run to just outside aggro ring of any arena opponent, spam spirits 1-5, if it's an opponent that uses enchants put up disench, apply painful, wait 2 seconds, win.
Vs bison put up shadowsong instead of disenchant. The entire tournament takes about 3 minutes with this bar, primary class is totally irrelevant.

This, right here, is FTW. So easy it feels like cheating. In fact, I would suggest that the game be altered to have the opponent have full aggro as soon as the round begins so they can start their attacks right away to fix this. Though until then, if you want easy wins, this is it.

Trade Essence Bond, Balthazar's Spirit, and Scourge healing for Signet of Mystic Wrath, Bane Signet, and Symbol of Wrath (or Kirin's Wrath I think is the equivalent) and you own it and don't have to deal with the maintained enchants.

More fun build (posted on youtube). Mesmer/Necromancer.
Signet of Illusions (E), arcane echo, assassin vanguard summon, web of disruption, (I choose finish him for this slot for npcs), enfeeble, necrosis, insidious parasite.
GG won myself a crown and it's fun to summon two assassins to kill the npcs before you.
credits to youtube guy (I just copied it he made it)
