Spiteful spirit on a hero? Feast of corruption?
Don't really know, these don't spring out in my memories as being significant hard to kill. What I do remember is their dmg output can be a bit harsh when you don't pack anti-melee defenses in hard mode.

Yes, I found they can take a while to kill too. They seem relentless.
To help me last out their assault I ran Blinding Flash > Shell Shock > Epidemic. If they can't see you they can't hit. Blinding them gives you time to kill them in whatever way you decide is best, while minimising the damage they can cause to your party.

What he said.
Bring a SS necro for damage and 1 or 2 eles for blind, weakness and cracked armor + epidemic.
You take nearly no damage, while the SS necro kills them with armor ignoring spells. Splinter barragers also work well in taking them down.
Warders are less effective, since the main damage comes from rangers and paragons.

Ineptitude + Epidemic ??
Haven't tried it (I usually use empathy) but it seems like it should work.

90% chance for the enemy to miss > 50% chance for allies to block

Spiteful spirit, insidious parasite, empathy, enfeebling blood, ward against melee, aegis.
Perhaps this is the reason why up until this thread I didn't know there were enchanted weapons there. I thought they were only in shards of orr (3 echo smiters are enough to kill them there).

Are you set for Flaming?
In Shards of Orr they drop much quicker running Smiting signets. So I am guessing they have very good fire protection.
