Dubiouse Protector, could you post a map with the path marked on how to get to this spot? and/or the techniques used?
I just spent 2 hours re-scraping GoK mission and am unable to open the majority of the sandy looking area. Thought that I may have missed a section where all the undead are camping behind Oink's place or where the last boss is but NO not there that way!!
I have your ign on my friends list but I'm sure you have better things to do than to take bunches of us out there over and over

my GUESS on that spot is that its a part of GWEN. i find it hard to believe that in a lil over 2 years no one knows of that spot, or atleast if someone knows, has never posted about it.

I would like to say it's a bit of EotN, but how'd they uncover it? But then again, I thought it would have been more documented, but maybe it is really hidden.
I'm sure we'll find out soon enough, me and a friend are yet to find anything in GoK or anywhere else.
EDIT: http://tcfish.teutonictemplar.com/map/gwen_map.jpg Must be a dev map or something.
EDIT2: Just a map with the fog removed. ^^;

Nah, it's just an uncovered area that can't be accessed. They've drawn the area in detail though. If you look at the map that I provided in the last post, The Wilds, Nolani Academy have huge areas uncovered that are definitely not uncovered. Just used the fog uncovering mod.

After you reach 100.0%, how do you know how much more is uncovered? I reached 100.0 + .? today. I was so happy when I got the title and there were still some obvious spots in one area left to uncover.

I was afraid that this would happen with the new maps, specially the lower resolution ones (like 1024x768).
I have been looking at the maps myself and some missing spots only show up as slight differences on a 400% zoomed map, while doing visual compare.

There is no way to be 100% certain, but when you know what you uncovered after getting 100%, you could be able to roughly calculate the value.

Did anybody notice that, with the arrival of the new Tyrian map, all of "old" Tyria is now sort of "visible" when zoomed out? Essentially, the map now looks the way it would if you explored everything, especially when zoomed out, though it looks slightly blurred if you zoom in.
Think this will make it harder or easier to map areas?
I don't know if I like the change. People shouldn't be able to get a moderately detailed look at what the Ring of Fire resembles if they are in Ascalon! It just doesn't feel right.

I did notice, but there is still a huge difference between explored and unexplored ground.

Depends on what you consider 'map areas'.
The actual proces of exploring the way it should be done will not be any harder.
Comparing a zoomed-out non 100% map against a zoomed-out 100% map will probably be more difficult, specially for the last .5%.
This assumption is made on my own compare of two 100% maps, where one is a lot cleaner than the other.
The differences can still be seen, but are harder to notice for unexperienced comparers. Also, what to look for has been changed (for example, on the old map, there would be a spot in the water on the south east part of Gates of Kryta mission, on the new map, the difference is on the shoreline).
Mind that this is for very small spots, most fogged areas are still visible without too much problem.

Scraped so hard it hurts
Hey. I posted about a week and a half ago. THanks for the help. I have now uncovered 99.6% but doing all the bits that were ringed.
However I`m having trouble as Even though I scrape and scrape at some they dont uncovered where it was ringed.
In desparation I was hoping that if I posted a new map there may be an easily identifyable 0.3% that would uncontroversially uncover.
Is Cantha and Elona easier to uncover than this or same?

Wahey! I finally reached Tyrian GMC. ^_^ Moved onto Cantha now and, personally, finding it harder to spot areas to uncover, sespecially in the city areas, horrible piece of map. >_<
I'll have a go at some comparisons later, not sure how it's going to work out with this fancy new map. :P Oh, and it's my birthday.
