Thanks for the help. I will make the runs I need over the next couple of days and see what I get. I hope this gets me the 0.9% but if not I will resubmit. Thanks again for taking the time.

Map Help (yes, another one :P )
Ok, folks... positively stumped here.
Have re-examined the areas that have been pointed out to me and even found a couple more that I'd missed... I can now thankfully say that I've reached the 99.6 mark... YAY!!
However, am stuck trying to find the last .4... could a kind soul or 2 analyse this for me and see what I'm missing?
Thnx in advance, your continued support of the GW Community is greatly appreciated (including by me )
~ Mortie
PS, if required, can post some zoomed-in MiniMap (U) pics of any requested area, if necessary

I know that I have some Ring Of Fire stuff to clear up, but the rest is stumping me. It's only 97.2% cleared.

Hey there...
Without bebefit of decent comparison software (plus the fact that I can't get that high a resolution ), there a couple of bits I can see that you need to focus on.
Firstly, and don't worry... most people miss this... is Dunes of Despair. The southwest corner and along the southern edge can be explored quite a bit (you need to use the Necrotic Traversal trick in order to get across, as doing themisson normally, will not realy provide you with enough time to map b4 the Ghostly Hero bites the proverbial dust - again ) - also note that while mapping that area, one of the Forts appears to have its bridge raised, denying access... this is actually false. Just walk across the open air a la Indiana Jones to map that part.
Secondly, is the Mountain Trick in Talus Chute, which enables you to explore a fair section of the eastern-most edge of the area (there may be cloud obscuring that area, so feel free to ignore this one, if you've already done it)
Lastly, as near as these tired eyes can tell, is the southern edge along Regent Valley... seems its not quite as tight there as can be - tale another look
While it won't get you to 100% (if only it were that easy ), it should get you somewhat closer. Anyway, that's all that I can see, but then, I'm old
Hope that helps you out some... tc and good hunting

Is there a way to get 100% without having to have a Necro skill?

Dynamite - Can you drop your resolution to 1280x1024 please?
It is possible to get the title without using the little tricks but that would require you to have visited ALL the arenas before they were closed. This is rather doubtful so I'd advise to go and get the necro skill for those spots.
Great Northern Wall - Can be done without the Necro trick, but it would require you to have running skills and it might take you a few tries to get all uncovered.
Frost Gate - There is no other KNOWN way to get onto Rurik's path.
Dunes of Despair - Get a good group, running and prot skills and you should be able to get this whole area cleared. However it may take more than one try.
Moritsa - I'll check your map later this afternoon when I get home

As Luciora said it is possible to get 100% without using any tricks, but it is harder. Really the only hard part would be clearing Dunes of Despair. You would need a team totally dedicated to helping you and it would probably take more than one try. My elementalist received 100% without exploring Rurik's Path or the area behind the Demagogue in "Aurora Glade". Also none of my characters have every visited the now closed arenas.
As for the area Moritsa mentioned in Talus Chute right outside of Ice Caves, see attached screenshot.
Exit Ice Caves
Go across bridge - Ice Imps
Into valley - Ice Golems
Hang a right at first bend go to dead end, climb up
As you explore you will see the edge of the world.

I'm at 97.1% explored. Wondered if someone could take a look as I don't really know of much more to explore. I know I have a lil in teh southern shiverpeaks, but not 2.9% worth that I can think of. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It'd need to be a VERY good group to pull this off without using necrotic/rebirth.

Thank you so much, Luciora, your endeavors will be greatly appreciated
As always, both you and Wobrak do the GW Community a tremendous service in your analyses.
The Mighty Dougal would be proud of your efforts
Thank you to Dougal, Leighwin & TC Fish too, without whom, much of this would not have been possible.
Long lives to you all

Mortisa/Wobrak, could either of you please help me out?
I am currently at 97.4% and just did Dunes of Despair, tried to compare myself, but did not go well.
So I would be greatly appreciate if you could do something like the circling you did for Begard

I did it with necro trick and henchmen only I killed the first serpent boss and used necrotic traversal to teleport to his body. Being W/N i coudn't use rebirth to get my henchmen to me but i found another way. I walked quite far from my henchmen so that their names became grayen on my party screen. Next i ordered my henchmen to join me using that green flag and after few seconds I dismissed that order. Somehow my henchmen found the way to join me after a minute or two. The same thing happened during exploring Rurik's path in Frost Gate. Hope that it will help anyone. I doubt the same trick will work in Thunderhead Keep (the giants i kill with the catapult are too far) but maybe i'll find some good party to explore that part of the map.

If you kill Confessor Dorian, but do not speak to the king, you can freely explore that area of THK. Only a few Jade Bows around

Heya Zex, thnx for the compliment, though I think itLuciora you need to be asking
Anyways, this is what I can see with a quick visual scan :-
I think you should revisit Elona Reach and map around the Salt Flats area (looks quite foggy there, though might be dense cloud cover)
The ring around the southern portion of Riverside Province Mission is also a little dodgy, still appears foggy there to my eyes.
For the Borlis Pass Mission, as soon as you enter, basically hang a right and scrape that northern edge to clear much of the fog there.
Tips for scraping the eastern edge of Talus Chute (End of the World trick) can been seen by Wobrak's most excellent pic just a few posts further up this page (post #3052 on page 153)
The ring in Lornar's Pass can be a little tricky... there's a cul de sac just by there that allows you to clear a little, if not all of that blue spot on the mountains. Also the 1 around SF can be irksome to navigate, often taking several attempts to get it clear.
A revisit to Icedome and/or Spearhead Peak should clear a little of the fog around there.
The Dunes Mission could do with a once-over as well... that line can be extended a little.
Also consider taking a trip through the Ruins of Surmia Mission again. As you approach the end of the mission, where that Monument to Surmia is located, if you continue to your left (towards the tar lake, you should be able to get across to a small bit on the other side.
Hopefully, that should edge you somewhat closer to GMC, then do a repost of your updated map, and am sure Luciora and/or Wobrak will be happy to analyse it for you to pick out the last niggly details
tc and happy hunting

Welcome to the world of the 99%ers
Make sure you are playing in fullscreen, as in not in windowed mode. Press F11 on your keyboard to bring up the Options window, click on the tab marked Graphics.
There's a dropdown menu where the resolution of the game is displayed, click on that, then you can select 1280x1024 resolution. Finally, click "Keep" on the window that pops up to save your changes.
As a side note, it also helps if your normal resolution matches that of the game... to do do, click on Control Panel, then Display... select the Settings tab (on the far right) and use the scroll bar to set the resolution to max - usually 1280x1024. Click on Ok or Apply to render the changes, then click Yes on the popup window to accept them.
If your monitor is unable to display 1280x1024, change it to 1024x768... either resolution is ok for the purposes of analysis
Hope that helps
tc and happy hunting

Here's a comparison for ya. The red circled areas require further exploration.
Sword
If you are unable to set your screen resolution to one of the required settings: 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or 1600x1200, then post what settings are available to you and I'm sure if not myself than surely someone will be able to help you.
Remember, your game must be in Full Screen Mode not Window Mode.
