Yippee! I Finally got my 100%!!!! The map comparison thing showed that I had a couple of spots up Lornar's Pass to get. So with 99.8% uncovered, and seemingly every other spot already checked, I grabbed the henchies and away I went! After a gruelling, seemingly non-stop (seems like they keep adding to the mobs all along that route - if they really want to stop runners, all they need to do is close off the pass - but that's a diffferent subject), battle up Snakedane and through the Drift, into the Pass I go. I hug the wall along the west edge and then over to the northeast corner to get a spot there. By the time I was done, it was past my bedtime and all that effort brought me all the way up to 99.9% !!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I went to bed.
Couldn't sleep so I checked over my map, scouring over it looking for any other place that I didn't already go back to... Just north of Santum Cay is that hill that sticks out into the water. It took me less than 5 minutes to run up there, find a little hump to hop up on, and BINGO! 100%!

Looks like you need the east end of Mineral Springs - the cave area. + there's a spot on the north edge that you may need to hit again. It's right by that white mountian. When you get there, there's a Boss mob that you'll need to kill. You'll see a frozen waterfall behind them, just run off the end of the peninsula the mob is on to get down to the ice, and go along the edge there. Also, the eastern part of the Dunes of Despair bonus area needs to be cleared out. The western end of Borlis Pass looks like there's something there, as well.
It's so much easier to see it all with the comparison map, tho. Best of luck to you!

How do you access the forts outside of the Dunes area where the hero is? Last time we ran through the bridges were up.

I am working through my difference image and was wondering about how to get to an area East of the Henge of Denravi that I appear to need. When I go through the hollowed out tree in Denravi the area I need is due east across the lake and due south of the arena area. I have tried working my way up on the far east side of the zone outside Denravi and end up in a circular clearing with a little building up above that I can't seem to get to. I have also been back to the arena to try and clear it from that side but with no luck...
Also did anyone figure out a way to get to the bonus boss area in the east side of Surmia? If he could be aggroed then one could NT in but it is a little too far.
Any help appreciated.

Tarun,
The way I did the Dunes bonus area is get the hero on the the pedestal, this drops all of the bridges, even the ones that appear to be up (game glitch, run straight at them). Take out the 4 pairs of arcanists that attack, then run out the east gate and run to the area that's hidden behind the giant skull in front of you - there's a huge area back there, but you'll have plenty of time because the hero won't be attacked, as long as you're just running and not killing the bosses. ( You just have to keep yourself alive). With my mesmer (using henchies), it took me a few times to get all of the bonus area opened up, since it's difficult to run in high heals.
Tiltowait,
No, you can't get to that boss there. He's too far away to aggro, so he's just a pest to make people think they can get back there!

I'm at 99.3%.
I have been trying to do the whole get rurik's archer killed in the frost gate mission but his health keeps regenning... is there a trick to killing the archer so I can use necrid transversal to go down there?
Thank you for your help.

I found it easier to kill a wolf over there and just use it's corpse. If you hold down the Alt key you will see one eventually that is reachable with a bow to lure it close enough.

West Fort in Dunes of Despair
I have a question, though it may already be answered but i haven't had time to read the whole Thread.
In Dunes of Despair: bonus area there is one fort which I can't enter and
therefore can't unveil the tiny foggy part, and when i look at your map i can see
that you guys DID actually unveil it, so my question is: how do I lower that bridge without the Ghostly Hero?

two ways:
1- kill a foe outside the fort and use the corpse to teleport outside using necrotic traversal or a skill with the same effect.
2- just take the ghost to the altar and run outside alone leaving 5 friend beating the actual mission

I know how to get out of the main fort(btw I think they nerfed the necrotic traversal exploit because no enemy will spawn around the fort) but the West General Fort IN the bonus area(where the bridge is raised) is the one that's giving me a hard time, and i know there oughta be a way in because i see enemy's standing there but i just can't reach them with my longbow... If i have time I'll make a picture showing what i mean. But for now... I gotta study....

Frost Gate questions
Well, I tried to find a snow wolf down there. I did four runs of the entire mission. All the snow wolves I found were not in Rurik's path.
I also have been unable to kill the soldiers with Rurik. I've tried leading ice golems to them but they don't do enough damage to combat the soldier's regeneration.
I've tried skipping the cinematic, or skipping in the middle once Rurik is talking to my character, or letting the cinematic run through - each time Rurik is on the other side of the gate, but he never gets attacked. Neither does his 3 archers ever get into combat in the final lever area. I've tried changing the order I use the levers... nothing.
*rips hair out of head*
Well, I did manage to find 2 small clouds - one in the area outside of Nolani, another in the Sage Lands - so I'm up to 99.4%.
But I'd really appreciate any help in figuring out where this last 0.6% is, it's driving me nuts.
edit - thanks for the help! I got Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer at last!

Maybe I had a lucky spawn but I noticed the Wolf down in the Frost Gate channel that Rurik is in but further down past the first ballista and well past the first gate.

This is DEFINITELY thinking outside the box.
Can we get a list of areas that have situations like this?
- Frost Gate; Necrotic Traversal to Rurik's area
- The Great Northern Wall; explore the areas the charr come from
- Dunes of Despair; Necrotic Traversal / Timed Exploration of the areas outside the gates

Can you post a cropped picture with the area in question circled?

Still working on the Dunes of Despair, but I fixed the other two areas.
The Henge of Denravi exploration triggered 2 'uncovers' and the Mineral Springs area triggered 1.
There seems to be a VERY healthy amount of leeway as my 100% map had half the last mission left, the Dunes of Despair bonus, the charr staging areas in the first mission, 4 'uncovers' from various places, AND I'm investigating Necrotic Traversal on Rurik in the Frost Gate mission.
In my opinion, the trick to 100% is not hugging the wall like a lunatic.. but having the desire, from the beginning, to uncover every inch of the map.
Since this thread is getting huge, I'm going to make a post with links to posts that involve various areas to explore (IE: mesh bugs, etc)
LuXa, I updated my picture but left the name the same so you don't need to update your post.
[EDIT: I updated again; I explored Rurik's path in Frost Gate using Necrotic Traversal.]

I'm not entirely sure how it works, but couldn't you use Aura of Displacement and simply cast it on Rurik?

Alright, I figured out a solid way of getting to Rurik's path during the Frost Gate mission.
This may take some trial and error and running back and forth to shake aggro, but it CAN work since I managed to do it.
The very first spot you see Rurik and his troops, has two ice golems standing nearby. Aggro them into range of Rurik, kill off everything BUT the ice golems (unless you can tank).
The goal is to get BOTH ice golems spiking the soldiers and eventually, the middle soldier will die. His regen can't keep up with two ice spikes, even with the recharge.
Necrotic Traversal for the game breaking win
This IS worth it because just going the opposite direction (back to the beginning of the mission) uncovers some map (enough for a .1%).
[EDIT: Just explored all of the area available once getting down there. There's really not much to uncover, since it curves around the main exploreable area but there IS a nice little patch. I would wager, at best, .2% by doing this (and that includes backtracking to the beginning). Also, make sure to bring some fighting skills. Nice little surprise at the end.]
