Dragon - I just meant how do i get to the Flame Temple Corridor PORTAL (Thanks for the advice though - I got stuck on some charr getting the hidden parts of The Great Northern wall, actually :P )
I have been around the tar pit/swamp/lake/sea and i cannot find the path. I am using a Wammo running build with no attacks skills in there. Do you just go through the tar some way? It was too deep where I approached from.
Im on 76.4% now so obviously the small part of the jungle I went to and the small area of mineral springs (before the runner-killer imps/golems appear) helped a lot.
And congratulations to you Evilsod - great achievement

The Portal to the Flame Temple Corridor is a little bit hidden (but only a little bit), behind some huge bones in that tar lake.
By the way, another place I've seen missing on several 100% maps now: Riverside Province outpost, down at the beach of the Ullen River.

Yeah, some of the areas I did like that SW corner of Dunes I did as a N/R with running skills and life recovery, and some henchmen to use as monster bait The jade scarabs and enchnted bows are brutal with suppression techniques that waste precious time on that mission, so in the end I thought sod it, I'll speed though and let the henchies take the fall!
I think the hardest part to do was the western most side of the Ring of Fire mission, wading through burning lava and fighting Lava Imps - and you thought Ice Imps were nasty! You can pretty much forget it if you don't have a rez, the constant Meteor Shower spam is savage I had a big chunk of that to reveal though, and I got another .3 from revisiting that one (.1 from the town and .2 from the mission itself).
I actually got a whole load of 'tiny reveals' from really hugging the zone walls everywhere I went, where the border of the map would change a just ever so slightly. They really added up in the end, although it would take hitting 4 or 5 of them to make a +.1. Quite a few were just in towns though, so not all are hard to find

I know some of you say you can't get % from missions, yet some of you are looking for your last % in a mission..... Dose that mean my Ritualist can't get 100% of Tyria?

You definitely can get % points from mapping in missions (exceptions: UW, FoW, SF). Unfortunately this does mean that, no, Canthan characters can't get 100% Tyrian exploration (and vice versa). Pretty ridiculous, if you ask me. Now I was reading that someone claimed this might be changed by ANet in the future, but that sounds like wishful speculation to me. I'll certainly agree that it should be changed... there's absolutely no reason to deny owners of both games the ability to do all missions with any of their characters.

I think you have to go into the lake from the West. Just click into it randomly and the char should eventually find its own way.

Just to make this perfectly clear, once again:
What does count?
Everything that shows up on the map of Tyria counts. Can you see it when you press "M"? Then it counts. So, yes, missions do count. As well as towns and outposts. What (unfortunately) counts, too, are PVP areas that are located in Tyria, like the Ascalon Arena and the Shiverpeak Arena (in Yaks Bent), so if you're just raising a new char, you should do a little PVP if you want this title. Even more unfortnately, the old, now unreachable, PVP areas in Droks, LA, Denravi and the like count too. But you don't need those. You'll just have to explore the availibla areas more thoroughly.
What doesn't count?
Any area that doesn't have a map doesn't count. This includes UW, FoW, SF, Dragons Lair Mission. Same goes for areas which have their own, special map, which doesn't show Tyria. This means the Battle Isles and Pre-Searing.

attached to this post is a modified 100% complete map of tyria with my own GW working map on top of it. i used photoshop to line the two up and applied a Difference blending mode to my own GW map, and as you can see, areas that I'm missing light up while explored areas remain dark.
i thought it was kinda cool

I uncovered the PvP arenas by playing Competition Arenas, rather than going into the low level ones. You get teleported around, so you'll do the fire island arena, the denravi arena and so on just by playing a few rounds. I suppose your team mates might get a little upset if you went for a jog around the edges, but oh well

I thought the RAs and TAs put you on separate, tiny maps now (like if you use the windowed map in gvg).
Got 1.3% today, sitting at 96.4 now. Still have the Dunes area and the east end of Lornar's Pass to go... then I'm stumped.

The Falls - Going Out With a Bang
PS - If you didn't play in the water (at the portals) during Hell's Precipice, you can pick up a percentage or two there.

Well I'm currently at 95.9% and only have about 3/4 or lornars, Lyssa's Cave, the sides and back end of THK, the back end of RoF and maybe a bit in Hells to go.
I have been running along walls all week and it is driving me nuts.
I hope those four spot are enough to get me the last 4.1%, if not I am stumped.

7 dead henchmen... the same way I remember getting Skill Hunter (1)
Yet, I know there is at least one spot I could still explore a bit of in Lornars. But I don't care, it's done... 5 am, I have to get up for work in 3 hours. I can't believe how much I revealed in Henge, didn't even know about those 3 collectors.

Oh, I hadn't realised Griffon's Mouth had a drake boss until I went for grandmaster It was just that bunch of tunnels with snow ettins that you follow Aidan's wolf Snow though, the brief final stretch from Beacon's Perch to Kryta, but it's actually quite a bit bigger than that!
Grats to Asrial and Racthoh on Grandmaster! (Kind of a Big Deal next on your list Racthoh? )

Way to go, Racthoh! And BTW, I'm impressed... 11.2k XP!! I thought I had a lot of XP, and I've got a whopping 7k less that you! That's worthy of a title right there... call it the "Have You Ever Been Experienced?" track.

Majersties rest was known before, its the same place where the cinematics of the white mantle finding the scepter of orr -was
That lvl 30 undead dragon, was ridiculsly easy to beat though -kinda anticlimatic
as for map exploration, i have noticed that some towns influence the percentage too -henge of denravi is quite large for instance

Well, I finally achieved Grandmaster Cartographer this evening!
It certainly feels good too!
I must have put in more than 50 hours game time to get from the 89% I had when the titles were added to the game up to the 100% I finally achieved today.
To anyone struggling with this, don't give up! It is possible eventually.
Regards,
Hengis

Hey guys
I am currently at 93.5% and am scouring the map for percentage points.
Thanks for the many good tips Ive gotten in this topic.
I want to suggest you take a real close look at North Kryta Provence. I found 2 percentage points worth of area that at first glance looked to have been explored but still looked very slightly hazy and when i hugged the walls sure enough It had not been explored. The map certainly has different ways of showing what has been explored. Theese were not clearly white,( cloudy) unexplored areas. I guess its Anet's way of keeping us on our toes.
GL!

heh I got 1 mission in my back pocket left to do for % points, I'm clearing everything else... I'v even solo'd the two northern shiverpeak missions for map % points(alot of ppl just rush ahead when doing borlis and not explore the fort )
Be sure to always check the missions for map, I'v ran nolani / surmia a few times... lots of areas where the mission doesnt normally take you thru
So far what I'v done is compare my map to a 100% map area by area...
so far im at 97% Auroa Glade left to do(crystal running place is kinda huge) and THK mursaat area to clear
(I'll have to recheck my maps but I swear thats the last of it)
