Area North of Dragon's Lair?
Bear with me...I'm very new to the GW community.
I was out exploring and going back to different towns and outposts before attempting the "Abbadon's Mouth" mission. I went back to the "Dragon's Lair" and noticed that there is an area to the north of it. I can't remember the name of it at the moment. I haven't seen this area talked about at all in the storyline and I don't want to miss out on anything.
I also noticed that the henchmen in this area were not the normal henchmen. They were the Zaishen (sp?). This leads me to believe that this area has something to do with pvp?
Like I said..I'm new and I know there are some very knowledgeable people out there. Your answers will be appreciated.

That used to be the Heroes Ascent tournament area, but all arena's past yaks bend got taken out and are now in the battle isles. This was done to make a unified location that all characters in all campaigns can reach. The explanation is that now the Tombs of Primeval Kings (often referred to as ToPK) has been taken over by demons and this area is a kind of mission/dungeon/elite area that doesn't fit into classification with other areas. Thanks for the reply. Great link as well.
If I'm reading this correctly, then it is sort of an elite area that doesn't really affect the storyline? It also looks as though there are some some pretty unique items to be found by entering and completing these quests.

No it doesn't affect the storyline, though the monsters who invade here are referenced in the Nightfall campaign as one of the first invasions of that storyline.
The area itself doesn't have quests, you simply go to 4 areas in order and clear them of the demons. At the end are 3 bosses who will drop some unique items (usually referred to as 'greens' due to the color of their text).
It could be considered an elite area but its difficulty really cant be compared to the 'official' elite areas. Still it is quite difficult to do with just henchmen, so your best bet is to get at least a half human group.

TOPK is like the elite area for beginners... it's harder than just normal areas, but a definite step below the real elite areas. Good place to wet your feet for tougher areas.
