LA to Ascalon
is it possible to run my Ranger from Factions from LA back to Ascalon? I ask cause I want to get 'Ignite Arrows' and this seems to be the closest place to get it from.

Yes, it is possible, I just did it yesterday with my Warrior. Although I didn't actually run there. Some guy just sent me a 'guest' invite to his guild and he did a little glitch that took me to Ascalon. Not sure how to do it, but I'm sure you can find someone to do it for you.

Exploiting any game glitch is against the rules and can result in a banhammer being released upon your account, whether its closed or not, i wouldn't give advice to people to exploit the game.
You will be able to get the skills form skill trainers, but you will not be able to do any skill QUESTS unless you are tyrian born iirc

Uhhhh.....sorry?
Didn't really know that it was frowned upon in such a way. I guess I got lucky, considering I only did it yesterday.

I used to run this, mostly for guildies, with my Ranger its actually really simple and the whole Escape/Dodge/Zojuns Haste concept can rush through it pretty quickly. The only thing I would advise is to bring some form of reliable hex removal, possibly even 2, as you will encoutner millions of meregoyles and the snares can get annoying.
But yea, its pretty easy other than that.

Additionally as a Factions character, going back just for a skill is pointless. You won't be able to do the skill quests prior to LA and it's far faster to unlock it and then just buy/tome learn it in LA. Really the only reason to go back is if you want to title on that character (completing protector/mapping).

Im looking for you now however it would be much easier just to buy yourself a Ranger tome, thier really not expensive and providing you already have the skill unlocked or 1k Balth faction its simple enough.

No there's really not a boss anywhere near you that has it lol it would be quicker running to Ascalon than fighting to the nearest boss who has it.

Seriously, it's gonna be easier to just unlock it and buy it in LA. You can do Zaishen then elite once and have 2 or 3 skills unlocked. Once a skills is unlocked you can then buy it from any skills trainer in the chapter.

Run a new character and go to the noob arena You will see that every other person you fight is from Factions Or Night Fall
Some Do it just to get a kick out of beating the crap out of people with non max armor and crappy skills that a normal Prof Character has access to.

Oh I know there's a whole 'subculture' revolving about the ascalon arena and trying to be the biggest baddest 30 yr old in the sandbox... I don't personally count this as a 'good' reason to travel to ascalon... it ranks right up there with most felonies to me.

fairly easy to do it with my ranger. got a build made out of speed bonuses, 3 escape skills, throw dirt, and troll unguent... with enough expertise and wilderness survival, you can alternate the runing skills and do this run easy. also about the mergoyles.. had +8 hp regen from troll unguent so i had no problems..

just made the run, found it pretty easy and really enjoyed it, it was nice to do something different on GW for once.
NGraveD - what escape skills are you using?
