I did it my first try, no casualties, the only thing you need is armor buffs/aegis/blind. Since you're an ele, blinding surge is made of win, if you're going to bring a warrior give it wild blow to bypass those pesky ranger's stances.

Whats giving you trouble? I'm guessing the fortress of Jahai with the ele boss?

Sabway works pretty good here. Since you are an ele, I sugest using echo meteor showers and fast recharge SF+GG. It's not Balthazar you should be worried about but rather the elite Koura troops guarding the ele boss Kantoh.
The rest of the map is pretty simple.
If you have a Monk 600/Smiter friend, ask him to take out the bad bosses, especially Kantoh and Balthazar.

My vanquishing of Elona was a looong time ago, but I recall Balth being the big meanie of the area, though Churta was pretty tough, too. Well, Churta's buddies were, he was easy. For Balth, I feel like I cheated by finding the very edge of his aggro range, pulling him to it, beating him up a bit, then stepping behind the range again, healing up, and repulling. Works for a ton of stuff when vanquishing.

Acolyte of Balthazar is the only real problem there. I wouldn't suggest running MM there as of holy damage he does. Once he goes down, the rest should be walk in the park. Was long time ago when I did that area, but I think it was some build with bunch of curse necros and rits.

jahaii buffs vanquish
Hello
What i did for that area, i run a ranger, splinter/ barager, you runa hero with this build.i had 2 ele mesmer with savanh heat, builds, they both had deep freeze on there skill bar, had sabs mm build on master of whispers, had morgan for paragon support( the paragon build on guild wiki builds), and had 2 hero warriors and 2 hero monks., you need to manage your 2 ele skill bar, cast deep freze on yor target, then have everyone attack it until dead, cough, cough, nuke them, cough, cough, and walla.

Actually an MM is how I managed to beat the Acolyte easily. My MM hero had pre-cast death novas everywhere and when the acolyte hit the minions they all blew up in his face, must have brought him down to 1/3 -1/4 health.
There are a bunch of tricky bits in that map. The acolyte is one, churta and his buddies are another, and the fortress can be a pain. As an ele I'm not sure how I would tackle this but I'd probably start with wards of some sort.

Well as an ele you should be able to easily beat the balthazar acolyte just with some blinding, the balthazar form is pretty sucky and really gives little bonus to them anyway. Same goes for Churta, though hes pretty easy in the first place. If you don't want to go blind spam, stacking aegis + ward against melee does just fine too.
For the fortress + ele boss I would recommend using ward against elements if you don't have some kind of + armor boost already, keeping in mind using 2 different buffs won't stack so if you have watch yourself or stand your ground or such ward vs elements is useless, and use maelstrom for shutdown. Have some kind of snare or just minion rush the boss so its bodyblocked. You will have to pile on the damage quick, since maelstrom only lasts 10 seconds but you should be fine.

I'm guessing since Eye of the North, Pain Inverter on top of the Death Novas will make the Acolyte just implode then...
