Where N is the Norn, you mean the passage coming in from the right? I might have an idea of retreating up either the top or right passage before the killer waves come, either to kill the boss immediately before he bunches up or to avoid him for now. Can anyone else who has henched this share their strategies?

Sadly I used this build to beat him. The rest of my party wiped after killing everything but the disc.
These guys finished it off.

i dont quite know what people are complaining about, the norn part was the least of my worries when i H/H-ed destructions depths. simply stay up in the northern choke point and pull with a longbow (dont forget to flag heroes/henchies back) and nuke the f*ck out of the enemies. dont worry if you die, as the lower point (closest to res shrine) is much better for pulling. its not terribly hard.

Ok here is my strat for doing this little battle.
When you first get into the room clear out the two icy stalag things on the other side of the bridge. Then put your golems onto RANGED attacks and flag your heros to the base of the bridge. Walk forward on the bridge until a group of destroyers pop up behind you. Turn around and help your heros finish them off, a second group will then spawn, make short work of them.
Now unflag your heros and make your way along the bridge to the end. Leave them flagged around the mid area of the bridge and go and aggro any destroyers you want.
Over the course of the battle just keep your heros flagged behind where your golems will end up standing and keep pulling. The destroyers should mostly get stuck around your golems allowing you to take out the ones that get through them easily. If ever the pressure gets too much just flag your heros to the other end of the bridge and exit the fight. Heal/Energy up and go back to continue. When you can re-activate the golems do so.
that is about it really, hope it helps.
For the final disc fight this is the tactic I use. Once you enter the level go activate your golems and turn them all to RANGED attacks again. Go down the left hand side and kill all the destroyers there. Flag your heros to the top of the stairs, or maybe even a bit back and go and pull the destroyers at the bottom of the stairs. As long as you are careful you can kill them off without aggroing the disc. Once your side is clear, have a hero put prot spirit on you and go pull the disc.
Once the disc is pulled run back to your heros and the disc will come partway up the stairs and choose its target. Use ranged attacks to take it down, keep your heros flagged back, but try to get them positioned so they can wand the disc. DO NOT use aoe attacks on the disc, especially when it us under 50% health, as this will cause it to move backwards.
If the disc does start to move back down the stairs just stay put and do not chase it, it will re-aggro shortly.
If anything does go wrong you can always run back up the stairs to your entry area.
Once the disc is dead go back up to the entry area and down the right hand side to finish the rest of the destroyers off. You can put your golems back on melee for this part.
Hope it all helps and gl

pull all until disk is alone
then put the golems there and wait until their energy is low and they fall down
then you got a barrier of golems and he can't get passed
all you gotta do is kill him ranged

Me and my guild leader did it together and it wasn't too too bad. We started with 10% morale boost and 5 minutes later we got -60dp. He was a ranger and it is possible to pull 2-3 at a time. We cleared the center part but there was still the entire other side covered with destroyers. It was down to me and him, all our rezz sigs were used up. We just stood back and let the golems do the work. When one died, one of us would run in and re-activate it. once disc was down, we pulled the destroyers on the other side and retreated behind the golems. The golems chew them up and mission is done.

They way I've always done it in HM was when first entering the chamber, hug the wall to the right and AVOID THE DRYDERS (they will actually kill one of the destroyer mobs and weaken another before being wiped themselves), then go and kill the first mob coming through the lower gate and immediatly kill the mob at the top gate afterwards. After that, pull the enitre party in to the middle of the ice bridge and set the golems to melee. Once the large mob gathers at the bottom of the pit have a rnager pull them to the bridge, this will cause the golems to run forward along with any minions you may have, if you placed the golems correctly, they should meet the destroyers at the edge of the bridge. Allow the golems to die and do not res them, they will act as a body block of sorts and the destroyers will then focus on the minions. Have the MM spam BotM and the monk focus on the MM. Have the nukers and other casters take out the destroyer casters and rangers FIRST, then the rest of the party can move up and kill the melee destroyers from behind the dead golems.
If for some reason you wipe, just res at the nearby shrine and run the backway onto the bridge, rinse repeat, done.

Sab makes this quest as easy as taking candy from a baby. I just fought through all of the mobs on NM with a invoke blinding flash epidemic ele and 3 necros. Zho, Lina, Herta, and some other guy creamed it. Pull well at the disk.
Man I wish they brought back THK old school so we could get more of these threads.

Use pulling. I beat this with heroes and henchies, we had 60DP by the time we reached the big bad Norn part.
I put one Golem on each setting.
Pull groups, use the Golems, the Norn part was hard for me, a ton of destroyers killed us, the Norn, then all gathered in one MegaGroup(TM) in the center.
However, I flagged my team shortly before the ice bridge connecting the area, and was able to pull small groups.
I reached the Central Transfer Chamber with 60DP. Was able to pull small groups. The Disk of Chaos at the end isn't very strong damagewise, but has a gay amount of health - USE THE GOLEMS! At this point you may be frusturated and ignoring them, but trust me - the Golems can damage him much faster than your party can. They also can tank his spells for you if aggroed properly.
Also, the caster destroyers aren't too tough. I would ignore them and focus on the barraging rangers (as we learned from Tombs, barrage destroys ALL!), then the warriors - unless you are with other players and can spread out, then consider taking on the warriors first. Snare the one you decide to save for later with blindness or something.

The trick to the Disc is he won't go up the stairs. Have someone entertain him at the stairs and he will leave the rest of the party alone. I took him down in about two minutes in HM with an R/A Dagger build; as long as he can't hit your entire party with Flame Bursts, you'll be fine. His damage to a single target is pretty pitiful for a boss.
The rest is pretty easy, just kill Destroyer of Compassions first and then Destroyer of Lives. Stick a D-shot on Barrage or blind the thing, blind the Warriors, D-shot Order of Pain and don't let Soul Leech stick; interrupt it or just remove it. Not exactly quantum physics here...

Take your guys straight down on the balcony in front and attack the chaos disc he will run up and attack you all by hinmself. I sometime set all the golems to ranged attack here, then change them to melee later. He is hard to kill and takes a bit but is easier when he is alone. Then mop up others you might die but if you have the 15% candy canes for you in emergencies it is not as hard. And the disc will come up the stairs but he did not come down to the balcony.

(To be honest I've completed DD a couple times in NM, I've completed it with my guild 3 times in HM... but don't lock this yet, cause it's become a pretty nice deposit of info for those who are having issues with the mission.)
This works for both HM and NM. If you have an Ursan in your group, put all the golems onto melee, and get the Ursan to tank the Hamburger of Doom. It'll probably be the Ursan(s) and the golems next to the disc taking all the damage... what you do is get a prot monk, throw up Prot Spirit on the Ursan. The Golems may die but if the Ursan is good, he/she will be have enough energy to resurrect the Golems as they die.
Did the Ursan trick on a warrior by the way...

Whenever something becomes challenging, Ursan comes to the rescue...sad but quick fix for many. No wonder PvE titles aren't worth anymore.

It can also be done with Raven and Wolf form, I think. Besides, we've completed DD on HM without any Ursans.
If there is a good powerful skill avaliable, why not use it? Are you going to make things harder for yourself and your team just because you think you're being "old-school"?
I'm not going to cripple myself just because some masochist thinks that his way is the only way.

It's funny, there are mission/quests that I find hard that others find easy and ones I find easy that others find hard...
and I am surely not one of the l33t players by any stretch of the imagination.
I guess it really depends on skill level, build choices, synergy, and spawning.
You'll get a different answer/perspective from every player as to what works and what doesn't, "for them".
As a player you need to find what works for you...
For instance, I cannot get a Avatar of Balthazar build to work well for me on my Derv Char, but I can pwn with a Avatar of Lyssa build I made... In PvE...
=)
