Grenth`s balance. Period. You could bring some degen poison, bleed, etc., but his regen will cover most of that while you run from the spirits.

Perma-shadow worked fine. And that was before it was "cool" cause it was posted on wiki. Slower than other builds I'm sure, but it worked.

I hate this griffon. im a necro prim. and i have tryed every thing but the factions sec. prof. (i dont have factions).
the MM dont work i can only cast maybe 5-6 minions befor the spirits start to kick my butt and for some reason they dont like to fight the griffion
but want to stay on the spirits even when i target the griff. The degen dont do jake at -8 he still is gaining life. the
best i can do is get him down to about 10% hp with GB and a n/w build with 4 interups bleeding &gash (i think its called).
Ive done this around 50 times now and am at my limmit. what can i do?
oh and the glitch where he gets stuck must have been fixed he never got stuck for me
BTW i hate this griffon

Yep, have to totally agree with vold - and thanks for the tip. For a hassle-free, gimmick-free and laid back victory, do the following (I did this with a Derv primary):
1. Obtain the following 3 skills:
[skill]Crippling Anguish[/skill] [skill]Conjure Nightmare[/skill] [skill]Conjure Phantasm[/skill]
2. Set Illusion attribute to at least 12.
3. Obtain & equip a +12 off-hand if you need it (I did, creating a total of 42 energy - pretty low by most standards, but still enough)
4. Meet the Griffon when he drops and smack him with the 3 skills in the order they appear above.
5. Run away, heal/recharge as needed, and re-engage at your leisure.
6. Repeat #5 until victory.
Literally that simple. No need to sweat the spirits, no need to interrupt the Griffon's casting. Yes, you will take some spirit damage each time you re-engage, but not nearly enought to cause a problem. I found that by the time I was re-energized for another attack, my health had returned as well.
During my two attempts (lagged out the first time), I found the Griffon never chased me far (the few times he did). If you experience more aggressive chasing, you may want to equip "You Move Like a Dwarf!".
No runes, no insignia, nothing else. Literally, all it takes is these 3 skills (and an energy item, if your class needs it).

Just did it as an ele with the following:
Conflagration
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Poison Arrows
Mark of Rodgort
Savannah Heat
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support
You Move Like A Dwarf
As soon as you spawn, start casting in the order i have them. Use Savannah Heat to wipe out any spirits he casts. Once he comes after you, away from the protection of his spirits, hit him with You Move Like a Dwarf. that'll slow him down for a bit so you can hit him with arrows, reapplying the -10 degen.
Kite, and use assassin support whenever you want to split the hurt with someone or keep his natural regen from kicking in once your degen wears off.
Took me about 5 minutes of kiting, but i got it.

clasic SSkais solo farm build with vanguard skill, just let him get your healt down to 100 n use g.balance, repeat it until he gets low on healt - use riposte n deadly riposte or bonetti+ healing signet, dolyak. just riposte him to death with a lil help from vanguard skill (im lv5 btw). fast n easy dont care about knock down him or his spirits
good luck
