Ignore the necro build then. The other ones are very nice. Anything that lets you throw degen on him will work over time. Just need to get away from the spirits as indicated further up. You'll get it

This is what I used. Only equipment needed is a longbow, simply take the highland and apply poison, and use move like a dwarf along with running away when he charges to attack you.
12 wilderness, 12 crit (sup crit mask and rune), 3 wilderness
savage shot, apply poison, you move like a dwarf, way of assassin, way of perfection, way of the master, critical agility, critical eye.
template code: OwJjgNZ8ITqGzG2kxZEQLi1g6PA
I know it is a lot of enchantments but most of them are 1/4 sec cast times so it really does not slow your pace down. Crit eye helps with energy as almost every shot will critical strike. Savage him if he rushes you and decides to cast a spirit (or replace with sharpen daggers for more degen). Each hit should do 35-50 damage so he will fall fast.
Edit: to Zibedeedee:
For necro I simply went something like SS with defile/des enchantment dou, parasitic bond, sig of lost souls. Wrapped him around a corner and nuked him to death where he nor his spirits could not attack me.

I tried a bunch of builds w/ my ele. I settled on the E/A green farmer bar.
Death's Charge, Shadow Form, Glyph of Ele Power, Silver Armor, Crystal Wave, Obsidian Flame, Tenalis Crystals, Dark Escape
Usage. Let him get 4 spirits up. Shadow step w/ Shadow form on. Cast Silver armor. Spam spells. When shadow form is about to end, run away with Dark Escape. Shadow form will be over half recharged. Stay safe. when show form is recharged, run in and kill him. If you did it correct, the inital attack will rip off about 70% of his health and he'll only regen a small amount in the time needed for your Shadow form to recharge. as an ele:
16 earth
12 Shadow
4+3=7 energy storage
(2 sup runes)
as a sin?
16 Shadow Form
12 Earth

pain, bloodsong, vampirism, anguish, *the interupt spirit*, painful bonds, shadowsong, summon spirits.
12 channeling
12 communing
sumong pain, bloodsong, vampirism as soon as he appears, use the interupt sprit so he can't summon any of his, summong sahdowsong+ anguish and cast painful bond. Keep doing this and use Summon Spirits when he summons his own that way they don't kill each other. Run away when all your spirits die, resurmond and use summong spirits to move them, rinse and repeate..i guess this works but it takes soem time.

For those that still are having trouble, I am going to share my experience...
I had tried this countless times with three different characters, Derv, Ele, and Mesmer (Primaries).
I tried every variation suggested with no luck, so I figured I just suck, and I am doomed to not get through this.
So on a whim I tried the rit build (Rit-2ndary) I used for the norn tourney, the one with brutal weapon and vampirism. This build was the only one that even came close, ah, but still no cigar... I would get him down to around 10 percent or so, before I was dead and he stopped going down in health.
So I thought about it, and it occurred to me, what if I buffer myself.
I used pie and CCs/Candy Apple and an Armor of Salvation.
That gave me the edge I needed, and it made it possible...
I still prolly suck at anything the requires real timing and finese but this worked... I was really at my wits end here... hence the madness that made me use perfectly good consumables and goodies reserved for elite missions.
But it worked...
In any case, remember, don't zone out until you are sure he won't die, even if you do... if he dies, even if you're dead... You still Win... LOL
Good Luck

Grenth's Balance and degen=).
He died of degen after I had died, as to why degen is good.

The problem I had with Degen was, his health wouldn't go down fast enough, or rather it wouldn't last long enough past my death to score the win.
Don't know if that's what others are experiencing or not.
Maybe my skills aren't l33t enough... lol

Ursan Blessing+Rit skills
I only used four skills: Ursan Blessing, Nightmare Weapon, Bloodsong, Vampirism.
I maxed my weapon skill and maxed Channeling Magic. With a max. Norn title, I had +20 armour and +200 max. health.
Just after the Glacial Griffon drops (appears) I spawned both Bloodsong and Vampirism. I activated Nightmare Weapon just as the Glacial Griffon turns foe and then ran towards him as I activated Ursan Blessing and proceeded to thrash him.
I died with the Glacial Griffon near death, but the sprites finished him.
In my haste to try new builds for this quest, I forgot to activate Heart of the Norn. Can anyone confirm you can actually activate it for this quest?

I brought Mark of Rodgort, couple of fire dmg skills, SH was my elite, used it to clear out spirits, fire attunement, aura of restoration, summon ruby djinn, and flame djinns haste. I used my attunements, summoned the djinn, casted mark of rodgort, and i just used a single spell at a time with rodgort setting him on fire, the djinn's wanding and immolates help a lot, and the when i was taking too much dmg I casted flame djinn's haste, and ran away. It's not very easy to do, took me 4 tries but it worked. Asura rank at the time was 5.

As for the griffon, just use poison tip sig and some other buffs, and hit it occaisionally from far away with a bow.

Honestly dunno I just searched for Moogle gifs etc. Wish I could get one as a pet although they're probably like Gremlins, feed 'em after midnight and they turn into slimey green things that try to kill you

Maybe that above will help you...
I tried all kinds of stuff and the rit build was the only thing that worked for me.
But I haven't tried it with my warrior yet either...
I suppose if you get in there quick enough, and keep him busy/knocked down/distracted, while heaping tons o hurt on him, you should be ok.
But I can't confirm or deny that...

clasic SSkais solo farm build with vanguard skill, just let him get your healt down to 100 n use g.balance, repeat it until he gets low on healt - use riposte n deadly riposte or bonetti+ healing signet, dolyak. just riposte him to death with a lil help from vanguard skill (im lv5 btw). fast n easy dont care about knock down him or his spirits
good luck

One method that'll work with ALL CLASSES is as a Primary/Secondary NECROMANCER:-
SKILLS:
1) Animated Bone Minions
2) Animated Bone Horror
3) Animated Shambling Horror
4) Blood of the Master
5) Grenth's Balance
6) Anything (Preferably Energy Boost)
7) Anything (Preferably Energy Boost)
8) Anything (Preferably Energy Boost)
ATTRIBUTES: Death Magic as high as possible. Do whatever you want with the rest... Keep in mind that energy management is very important here.
WEAPON/ARMOR: Anything that gets your Energy to 50 and above...
STEPS:
Before the Glacial Griffon arrives/become hostile run to the wolves' corpses.
BEGIN CASTING:
1. Animated Bone Minion (2 Minions Total),
2. Animated Bone Horror (3 Minions Total),
3. Animated Shambling Horror (4 Minions Total),
4. Animated Bone Minion (6 Minions Total),
5. Animated Bone Horror (7 Minions Total),
6. Animated Gone Minions (9 Minions Total).
Don't bother healing your undeads before you get 7 or more of them. Concentrate on getting more minions first. Wait a while to gain energy if required. Don't worry, by the time you get 6-7 minions out, he won't be summoning any/too many spirits.
By the time you get 7-9 minions, he'll be too busy dealing damage to them to even worry about killing you.
Using Blood of the Master, heal your minions when you see their health going lower than 75%. Otherwise, don't waste too much energy. Keep up the healing until YOUR OWN health's pretty low. Use Grenth's Balance on the Griffon - it'll take a huge chunk of HP from it for yourself. Continue to heal your minions and use Grenth's Balance when YOUR HP is low.
Rinse and Repeat. He'll be wasted in no time.
Hope this helps... It's pretty simple, but you've gotta be fast, especially in the beginning.
Good luck!
Cheers.

finally finished, ty so much
