Low end chest runs in Tyria
I'm looking for a fast chest run for low-end chests, preferably in Ascalon, Kryta or Northern Shiverpeaks. Best I could find so far was Great Northern Wall, but could only make 1 chest per 3 minutes there, which is rather slow. Anyone got an efficient chest run there?

There are some low-end runs in this thread (page 15):
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...145278&page=15
I hadn't had much success with running low-end chests as fast as high-end ones. Running in group helps a bit, but they are hard to find and (only done that in Istan).

What's the benefit of low end chests over high end in regards to lucky points? Do they give more? Or are they easier to open? Or what?

The benefit of low end chests is a better retention rate for your lockpicks.

You get same amount of lucky points for all chests. Running low-end chests gets you cheaper lucky points as retention rate is much higher.

QFT. Low-end chests aren't worth running for lucky points, imho, simply because they are freakin' rare. Or rather, chests are rare in those areas, even in hard mode.

For low-end chests, I found just outside of Yak's Bend is a great place (steel chests, not the lowest-level chests but just a step above). You can normally find one within a minute or so, and sometimes 2 within 2-3 mins....

I use the Flame Temple Corridor near Courthouse. There is only one chest that spawns per visit and spawns in either of its 4 locations. Then i just rezone. Very fast run.

Chest-running there is about the same speed as in Ascalon Foothills (1 chest / 2 minutes). Can you do it faster? If so could you post a bit more how do you do it. [Just 995 chests to go]

Sometimes you even get something good out of a chest outside Yaks. Rare, I know, but it happens.

I couldn't find these areas, I ran around for 15 minutes or so, but then when I had to run past something, I wasn't exactly looking for the chests. Is there a map showing the expected locations?

They usually appear on the opposite side from where you enter it. I don't really have a map for it.

I know the OP wants low end chests. However I have found the best bang for my buck is this.
Iron Mines of Maldune. The infusion run path. I typicaly get 1-3 Chests a run. Don't break so often and have a chance at something decent to keep.
I don't try to charge for runs. I'm there for chests.
Just my 2 cents.

Well first of all I two am going for the Lucky title too and I am having a hard time of it. Yes you get 250 points towards the Lucky title by opening ANY chest with a lockpick no matter what the cost of the keys are.
Second, you get 25 unlucky points for breaking a lockpick no matter what the cost of the keys for the chest are.
So to max the lucky title giving you a better chance to keep your lockpicks on High end chests (the real Goal of all of this is money and fame) you need to open low end chest that have a higher rate of lockpick retention thus saving 1250 gold each lockpick you keep for the chests that you open.
So, in the mission that I run to get chests is Fort Ranik.
Why, well the mission is long but you can get up to 5 chest per run. 3 is the norm. Yes I got 5 once and only once. Most of the time I find 2 easy and the third is a hunt.
I also solo this mission with my war. I tank everything and use no catipults as you get no drops for killing the charr.
My weapon was made in Eye Of The North by a guildie and so was my shield. The are the charrslaying sword (Sundering sword hilt 20/20) and the shiled is extra armor vrs charr.
I take 0-10 damage from the charr and I can kill them in 2 hits. This gives me CHARR CARVINGS.
I average 25-30 a run. Currently I have 4 stacks that I can sell at festival times. At the wintersday 2007 festival I was selling them for 5K per stack.
So every 1000 carvings I get I trade them for 16 more lockpicks and I only break a lockpick every 10 chest or so. I can do a complete run in 10 minutes with running skills and frenzy. I can almost get a stack an hour which is 5000 gold and 5000 lucky title points per hour.
Not that bad.

a better one is witman's folly. there's guaranteed to be 2 chests and 90% of the time there are 3 chests. a run takes about 3-4 minutes.
