any/N build for Cold As ice quest
hi
first of all i want to say that i'm very sorry for any mistakes i may have left in this little guide on how to complete this quest, i did not have the time to test everything but i just took what seemed most logical to defeat the glacial griffon so i'm very sorry for any skills that should or should not be here
but i do hope i will help some people with completing this quest
the build consists out of 4 skills
Before you read the skills i want to let you know the attributes of my titles
Norn: Rank 10
Sunspear: Rank 9
but i do think that about a norn rank of 5 and a sunspear rank of 7 would be enough to deliver heavy damage
most damage comes from [necrosis] and [grenth's balance]
["you move like a dwarf!"]
["finish him!"]
[necrosis]
[grenth's balance]
How to use it
It is advised to take a staff with +15e, also armor with runes for extra energy are handy to use
this is very easy to use, it has a bit of risks but for the rest it is fine
First aggro him, he'll start spamming his spirits, let him do it, do not use any skills yet!
Second do not get in the wide range of the spirits, let him go from his spirits and let him attack you
Third he will be attacking you when he's away from his spirits, when your health is low use grenths balance on him and run away a bit for him to lose his aggro
Fourth when he is running back to his spirits use ["you move like a dwarf!"] then spam [necrosis] as the condition is met for him
fifth keep doing this, when he is low on hp use ["finish him!"] for a deep wound and more pressure on him
Possible skills to use for each class:
Warrior
[endure pain] for a greater difference of health and more damage by [grenth's balance]
[signet of stamina] same as with endure pain
[wary stance] combined with [riposte] and [deadly riposte]
[healing signet] for self heal
Ranger
[troll unguent] for self heal
[screaming shot] for an immediate condition for [necrosis]
Monk
[bane signet] for an energyless attack
[castigation signet] same as bane signet
[judge's intervention] you never know when it could come in handy
[reversal of damage] good when the griffon is melee'ing you
[signet of rage]
[vital blessing] (thanks to Koricen)
Necromancer
[signet of lost souls] goes well when condition for ["finish him!"] has been fullfilled
[insidious parasite] for fast damage when the griffon melees you,the life steal is a bit counter-acting since you need less health then the griffon but still would be well to use
[rising bile] good for build-up damage since the griffon has no self heal
[rotting flesh] same as rising bile
[signet of sorrow] considering the corpses of the wolves there this is a must have
Mesmer
[diversion] good to force him into melee when his spirits are disabled
[empathy] works well when he melees you
[clumsiness] same for empathy
[wandering eye] same for clumsiness
[waste not, want not] as e-management if you should run out of energy
[cry of pain] with a good long lasting hex will go very well for damage dealing
elementalist
[glyph of lesser energy] with [rodgort's invocation] is good for damage
[glyph of immolation] with [steam] is also a considerable good combo to use
[glyph of restoration] with any damage dealing spell for a self heal when needed
Assassin
First i would not recommend to attack him with daggers in case he pulls you back to his spirits
[dancing daggers] for ranged damage
[crippling dagger] for immediatly applying condition for [necrosis]
[iron palm] to sync with [crippling dagger]
[entangling asp] as a follow up with [iron palm]
[signet of toxic shock] to finish the chain above
[shadow refuge] in case of self heal needed
Ritualist
[ancestor's rage] for extra damage while he melees you
[vital weapon] for more health and more difference in health for [grenth's balance]
[vengeful weapon] for extra damage
Paragon
[barbed spear] to apply a condition for low adrenaline cost for the [necrosis]
Dervish
[veil of thorns] for immediatly applying a condition for [necrosis]
[vital boon] for more health difference for [grenth's balance]
Thanks for reading and sorry for any mistakes, i don't have time to test every skill i listed, i took just what seemed to be a good choice to use in sync with these skills, very sorry for any mistakes i made
To finish here my ele triomphing over the body of her foe

I like the guide, as I hate the quest. My only problem is with [Burning Shield]. I don't think the griffon uses any attack skills, so it wouldn't cause burning. I also think [Vital Blessing] would be a good monk skill to bring.

The only problem I see is with Warriors and Paragons not having enough energy to keep the pressure up.
I'd recommend going P/R and W/R with poison tip signet and a poisonous bow/spear. Poison, kite kite kite. Poison kite kite kite.
Did it with my warrior that way, took seven minutes but it worked.

that could be a problem
good use of the skills should prevent such problems
with a +15 energy staff it should still be good to do
but you are absolutely right
but i did state that the usage of riposte and deadly riposte with wary stance is also very good when he melees you
wary stance also helps refill any energy so that would be solved for the war
