Aurora Glades Mission Soloable?
Up until now i've never needed to pug for a mission, but this one is getting beyond frustrating.
Ive been using heros/hench for missions but I need to attune 3 crystals while white mantle is trying to do the same.
Seems moment i attune one, they retake the other.
Anyone know a way to counter this?
I tried taking the group out, but a new group spawned when I did.
:-(
Oh and ive also tried flagging H/H at one of the crystals, but the white mantle guy still manages to take it, even with them set to attack.

If you have a decently strong team, attune the middle shrine yourself and camp in the little causeway in the center. All the mantles including the runners will attempt to pass through the middle. Just kill them off as they come until they run out of mantles. Then, you can do the bonus and attune the other shrines yourself.

In NM (I assume this is what you are in since you don't specify HM), H/H should be more then strong enough to kill off the enemies alone while you are capping, or to even kill them before they cap. Just keep killing them for a few minutes and they run out of enemies.

BTW groups don't spawn, there is a finite number of them. Capture the first two shrines (the two to the left, leave the one at the far right) and make sure you keep them under your control as much as possible. While attempting to do this kill off the Mantle in the process. A speed buff is recommended as well.

There is a finite number of groups. If you keep killing them, they will stop coming.

Yeah, H/H don't necessarily target the runner, especially since he doesn't attack while holding the crystal. But your henchies should still kill at least one every time (without getting overrun), so soon the enemy will run out of peeps while you run to keep one crystal attuned.

This Mission can be completed very very easily
I have taken guys through it and they were amazed on the easy way I call it..
When you go into the main area..(attune One crystal only) thats the one
beside the Druid..
On the hill that runs down from the Attuned Crystal place your flag for heros /hench in middle of the hill then put one guy back near the attuned portal, as back up as he will not go down as far as rest of the flagged ones but he is a reserve in case the carrier manges to get past you...they will stop everyone at the shine at bottom of this hill..(Let them Attune the others) Then wait till the small groups come to you
A MM is excellent and will even make it go quicker..(just keep them flagged
The groups will attack you in small waves within each group the crystal carrier
attack this guy first..then kill rest.
next group will come with same carrier take him down..This is where the Minions come into there own you can attack carrier and even if he passes you .you still have a guy in rerserve who will attack him also..
when the groups have finished coming usually 4 small groups in total then it is all clear to kill the level16 Boss
bonus given
Then carry the crystal at his end and attune the one as you leave his area then just go to Druid pick up the last crystal and attune...
cut scene and final part

Heh, done this mission so many times carrying [[nt], but that piggy never spawns in range when I do. Little bugger always does when I don't bring it, though :/
For those who don't know, at the final two shrines that need attuning to allow entry into the final "three shrine" area, there is sometimes a warthog that spawns beyond the barrier in killable range. If you can kill it and traverse over to the corpse, the final area is empty. Just wander down and the boss is all on his own.

I imagine have Olias along would be good for MMing and maybe Razah for spirits without heros it would be best pugged.

Wow, thanks for that idea, Snograt.
I just need the bonus for Aurora Glade (HM, though) and it's been a pain to find a group who's doing it, so I think I'm going to try that and see how it goes..

If the little pig won't spawn in the right place for you (it has only spawned there for me once...when I wasn't carrying NT...), there is another relatively simple way to get the bonus only (not the mission), even in HM.
I think it's mentioned on one of the wikis. Just attune a couple of the crystals to keep the mantle occupied - I think I remember attuning the center one, then the left one. Then, taking your whole group of H/H with you, attune the one on the far right. There is a path that skirts to the right, avoiding all of the mantle, and leading you directly to the demagogue. If you are quick about it, you can kill him and get the bonus before the mantle attunes all three crystals. You don't have a lot of time, given the mantles' speed boost in HM, but it should be plenty of time to kill him quickly.
A frustrating part for me in HM was Less Longbow getting himself killed before I could get close enough to save him and get the bonus. When you manage to get it, and if the pig doesn't spawn, this method should get you the bonus without much trouble. Good luck.

If you still need to do the bonus for this mission, go to You Tube and do a search on "Guild Wars Aurora Glade" without the quotation marks. It should pull up a pretty decent video showing how a Ranger did it with heroes and henchies. That's how I do it now.
The hardest part (and it's really not that hard) is getting to the guy who triggers the bonus before the White Mantle kill him.
I used a speed buff on my Ranger and Warrior but you don't really need one. My Necro did just fine and Necros are sooo slow.

Or you could just hang back and wait for Less Longbow to kill the white mantle himself. Mantle only start attacking him when you get into a certain range, where as Less attacks them before they attack him.

I agree - despite claims by others that this does not work in HM - when I have attempted it with H/H does work - Less kills them providing you keep just inside radar range.
I need to do this in HM and am finding it difficult to find anyone else to do it whenever I get to Aurora there are normally 5 or 6 people (mostly lvl 15-18) just standing there.
So if anyone wants to try any of the above methods and can either run the crystals to keep at least one active or keep control of the heros while i grab my running shoes then please PM me or contact me in game. I am a necro so don't have any natural running ability :{
I also need to do Dunes of Despair for Tyrian Title so anyone has any ideas for soloing in HM would be appreciated - don't care if I have to do it twice to get mission and bonus. Of course if anyone else wants to co-op that would be great.

I had to do it separately with h/h, got the bonus the first time and then did the mission the second time. Couldn't make it back in time to cap the shrines :S.

camp in the middle after attuning the first crystal. make sure you take 2 snares on your heroes and use them one at a time. i took [[deep freeze] on 2 eles. the monks have hex remover but i'm not sure about condition remover so a [[pin down] or [[crippling shot] ranger could do the trick. set your heroes to target the runner first and kill him then go in the standard order to kill everything else.

I was able to H/H this mission and bonus in the same run in HM. If you are having trouble in Normal Mode, this method works just as well. To get the bonus just let Less kill the Mantle. Sometimes though, he won’t be in range of the 2 mantle, so you can just go and kill them. Once you get to the "three shrines area" cap the closest shrine and flag your heros/henchies there, while you run the crystals.
So cap the closest shrine, grab another crystal and go to the left shrine. Let the mantle cap that one, but don't cap it yet. Wait for the mantle to get another crystal and head towards the other shrine. Once they get pretty close to the shrine where your H/H are, cap the left shrine. Don't cap it too early because if you cap it before they are close to the other shrine, they will turn around and go back to cap the left shrine.
They will have capped the shrine where your H/H are, so go cap that one again. Your H/H will be fighting the group of mantle that came with the runner. Make sure your H/H target any monks. The mantle seem to have a priority in capping the left shrine first. If your H/H are still fighting the group of mantle, let the mantle cap the left shrine and then you cap it. Let that go on for as long as you need to for your H/H to finish the group.
Once you kill the small group, follow the beginning instructions. Let them cap the left shrine and go towards the other. Each runner brings along a small group of mantle. By repeating this method, you can slowly kill all the groups without being overwhelmed. I found that camping at the first shrine is a lot easier than the left shrine. At the left shrine, you can easily become overwhelmed with mantle.
After all the mantle are dead, you have as much time as you want to do the bonus.
This takes time, but it takes less time than doing the mission and bonus separately. Mission and bonus took about an hour for me in HM.

The method listed in the above post is nearly exactly the way that I H/H'ed this mission. One thing not mentioned, though, is the need for patience. In HM, the Abbots are a real pain in the ass with their enchantments and healing. Because you are running back and forth keeping the two shrines attuned, it is hard to keep your little AI friends focused, but they should manage alright while you play shrine tag with the White Mantle. The only concern is the arrival of the White Mantle Savants, who can wreak havok on a flagged party, so you may have to swing by and focus the henchies on those targets. Just don't linger very long at all, for you have to keep the crystals going.
