I tried the Dragonslash build yesterday.
Works very nicely, but It's dissapointing to only be seeing 60-70 with maxed sword... I terribly missed my axe on that run.
Also, I really dislike having to sprint away from clumped spawns and wait for them to fan out.(I'm aware of the technique of dragging them away slowly and waiting for one to use a skill to seperate them, I don't like this either) This alone seems to slow down the run enough to make it not much faster then what I've been using.
I'm trying to work out a w/mo build with frenzy to use with my axe, but lack of healing sig + skales = wasted money.
W/Me has always worked great, but the advantages of frenzy are undeniable. Once I get around the damned skales, I think my build will work much faster then anything I've used yet. If it works good maybe I'll time it and see how it compares to some other builds people are using.

I am doing this run now with the wammo build and with sword under 40 min.
I also figured out how to stop the spiders from using healing springs even when they are clumped up together. After reading on wiki about them this is how to stop them from healing. If you are in malee range (sword or axe attack range) they will not use healing springs. So what I started doing to test this is if there are 3 of them clumped together I attack the middle spider of the three, wack it once with flurry and then turn to the one to its left and attack him, that stops 2 of them using haling springs and the one being attacked is not healing himself. Then when he is dead i attack the other one, still not the middle one, once again that stops the middle one and the attacked one to not use healing springs because you are right inbetween them. Once that one is dead well take out the one thats left.
This is just what I do and it works, also now again I'm back to be able to tank and kill all 18 spiders in the beginning in 1 go, no more retreating to heal up. (W/Mo) build.
Lately its getting harder for me again because of the wireless connection I have, its very inconsistant and a lot of packet loss, so once I get my cable installed it should go even better still.
That just my 2 cents guys

Thanks Arengja, just what I was too lazy to type out.
just an addition, when they are bunched up all together, (sometimes I run in, so that all of the ones outside the cave are clumped into one groups), I stand as close to the center as possible, and attack the one farther away from me. sometimes it take a second move and try, but when it works, you can get all of the bunch to stop healing, and hack them one by one without moving or losing undrenaline.

Well the best run I had so far was 6 shards in one run and that happened about last week thursday or so. Had 3 shards drop in a row and then the other 3 was about 3 spiders inbetween, if you know what I mean
But my average on a run is about 3 shards, sometimes 2 sometimes 4

Yea it works well, in the beginning I always used to run out and let them spread out now I move in and just hack them all to pieces, even if they are together or not
I find that once you do that that they might use healing springs once or so but when you are so close to them they focus on trying to attack you and it looks like they forget to use their healing lol

nice piece of gear foo
as for an axe alternative, Whirling Axe would be nice because you spam it even more quickly now with Frenzy, you could just take a bunch of low charging adrenaline skills.
Also for those of you not getting Many shards at all its probably the Anti-Farm code, you reverse it by completing missions so run Grt North Wall, Riverside, Sanctum, Elona or something, they're brilliant for losing the "flags" which accumulate on your account after farming things. Especially Elona. I usually do one deflag before i go into FoW like an Elona run or something. oh by the way you have to run three different missions before your first one loses you flags again.

What does that mean exactly? Is it 3 missions before you can start farming again? Or one?

It has been awhile since I ran an axe build, what kind of damage numbers
are you getting ??? Yesterday I was showing someone how to do this run,
kind of tricky, he was an axe swinger, and I could kill almost two driftwoods
for his one using the Dragon slash build.
Anyone else been getting rubies and sapphires lately, I have been getting one
on almost every run now, hmmm some new use in Nightfall perhaps.
The only bummer about this run is, that if you get one or zero shards then
you could have made more $$ farming vermin, so the shards have to be
there, but the challenge of this run is alot of fun, and I love to aggro the
shadow army into the skales then sit back and watch the fight.

well i'll make a thread and post as much as i know about the anti farming code fellas. i'll post a link when i'm done typing ^^
@ shadowrunner, the damage numbers for axes as i remember are higher than swords in general as every other hit is Whirling Axe, which increases the chance for a Critical hit as well so you will hit a LOT of strikes with a damage bonus which will be critical.

Well with 14 axe mastery I see alot of 80-90 when I use tripple chop, although you also see 40-50, and then the occasional 100+. Just how it goes with axes, but I definately prefer them over swords. Espescially with maxed axe mastery, as critical hits are much more common and can blow a sword's DPS out of the water.
