Aye, the reason for it being that way is a long story.

My name gets spelt wrong more often then right, don't worry about it. People will probably recognize it spelt incorrectly than correctly anyway.

How i Soloed
Right after i read this post and went down to FoW beach and tried this. It took me like 7k to learn how to do it but i think its ALOT easier if your a W/Me simply because phisycal resistance. With this build i took FoW beach+Cave might take you a lot less because at beach i only pull 3 spiders towards me at once .These are my skills
1.Physical Resistance
2.Cyclone Axe
3.Cleave
4.Penetrating Attack
5."I Will Survive!"
6."Watch Yourself"
7.Sprint
8.Healing Signet
My stats are.... (Not incluiding 15 point attribute quests)
Inspiration Magic:4
Strenght:10 (9+1)
Axe Mastery:12 (10+2)
Tactics:12 (9+3)
I use a Victo's Axe and the collectors 45/2 stance shield or a Grognar's defender.
NOTE:I am not posting this to criticize Racthoh. I simply did this to post an axe build other than a sword build....

for my axe build i use
1. Sprint
2. Cyclone Axe
3. Cleave
4. Executioners Strike
5. Physical Resistance
6. Dolyak Signet
7. Watch Yourself
8. Healing Signet
I did try without Watch Yourself and sub'd in penetrating but found i had to heal loads more and i prefer to attack more then i heal.
My stats are:
Strength: 11
Axe Mastery: 11
Tactics: 15 or 16 (cant remember, but i use a sup rune)
think those stats are right but im not sure 100% but that works fine for me i might try swapping the sup tactics rune for a sup axe mastery (or even both at once!!) and see how it goes. But that build atm works fine and i can take on all the spiders at once without breaking a sweat..
so far racthoh u've made me about 100k, thanx!

I cannot even begin to comprehend how anyone could need more than +72AL to avoid taking damage from Spiders. Phys Res alone should be enough to reduce all regular attacks to 0 or 1 with a -2 shield, a piece of Knight's armour and a Major Absorb rune. If you're taking so much as a single point of damage from any attack with both Dolyak and Phys Res up, then you have got your equipment woefully wrong. And by that I mean you are either wearing AL30 gear from Ascalon City or you have no absorption whatsoever.

nope i have major absorbtion and droks gear, no defense on my weapon tho..
i dont use watch yourself all the time jus to cover the couple seconds of no dolyak and to stop westrals.
With about 20 spiders attacking you the couple points of damage add up quickly, plus when you do need to heal your minus 40AL obviously and during this time i was seeing 6's and 7's from some. All this means i need to heal more then if i bring watch yourself plus if anything happens and i need to heal when dolyak is off i can put on watch yourself and its not as big a problem.
So like i said before i'd rather bring watch yourself and heal less then have an extra attack

lol yea so do i most times out of reflex, but i try not to because it takes some adrenaline away from the other attack skills and plus i can use it when fighting the enemies before the spiders so i still take next to no damage but can still run if something happens

I would recommend getting a group together and experiencing the area first hand rather than rely on a video showing how it is done.

or if you have some cash around like other people said it will take you a few K to get use to it. Sold some IDS's and practice untill it became second nature.
Took me about a total of 20k to get the run down and then 1-2k to do clear the tunnle of spiders.... wasted 5k or more trying (attemping) to kill them ancent scales things ***Note*** to self run past*** I'm likeing the "Physical Resistance" over the "Watch your self"

I never even watched the video. Racthoh, posted a link to a guide by Ubermancer, which describes where to go very clearly. I didn't even read the whole thing, just the beginning on how to get to the beach. Combined with some of the screen shots Racthoh posted, you should be able to figure it out with a couple of runs.
There is a learning curve here for novice Farmers (like myself). It took me a half dozen trips just to figure out how to get to the cave entrance. Running past the Shadow Army takes a few tries to figure out which direction to go, where the safe spots are, etc....The tunnel to the beach where you fight your first set of Driftwoods also might take a couple of tries as either Shadow Dudes or Skales sneak up on you when your fighting. Then of course you need to practice getting by the Skales, which is usually pretty easy but bad spawns can make it much harder. Then once you figure that all out, you get to practice with the actual Spiders.
My advice to people trying this run for the first time is to just go out and try it, make the mistakes, then come back and refer to the guides and figure out what you need to do different. Practice, practice, practice......
That being said, this is a very fun solo run. I've been playing around with it for weeks now and throughly enjoy it for the challenge alone.......and the gold Shadow Blades and Chaos Axes It's terribly addictive!

I've found that Dolyak Signet extends the run by quite a bit, just on the basis of moving after killing taking a long time. In addition, most of your damage is from poison, so it's not like it helps there. Shields Up! is the better option, imo, and it has the added benefit of letting you spec next to nothing in Strength. I also dislike Cyclone Axe - it being energy based clashes with Shields Up and Physical Resistance.
My final build:
1. Shields Up
2. Cleave
3. Penetrating Blow,
4. Executioner's Strike
5. Physical Resistance
6. Watch Yourself
7. Healing Signet
8. Sprint
5 Inspiration, 4 + 1 Strength, 12 + 4 Axe, 11 + 1 Tactics
I'd take out Watch Yourself too, but it's useful for Dryder fighting.

I use neither these days, but the advantage of Dolyak over Shields Up is the shorter downtime. You're not likely to have enough strength to keep Dolyak up permanently, but the downtime is likely to be 2 seconds as opposed to 10-12 for Shields Up.

Not if you use a Zealous mod, it doesn't. Using Cyclone and PR, I never run out of energy and except immediately after using PR I'm rarely if ever below 20. There's plenty of room for another energy skill in there; before I began using two Superior runes I used Thrill of Victory for a time with good results.

I've cleared the beach & cave quite fast with the usual axe build when getting the spiders to as big groups as possible (+10 spiders) and preventing springs with cyclone axe.
