Eastern Frontier vanq and Last Day Dawns
I'm getting trying to vanquish Eastern Frontier with heroes and I'm just wondering if the Last Day Dawns quest could make it easier. Does it remove the annoying Grawl healer groups?
And, is there a way to vanquish the area without triggering the mission? That would make it even easier!

eastern frontier vanquish
hi
When i did it i play a Ranger, i ran Broadhead arrow, and a Mesmer hero in my party, and i was just careful at pulling, i think everyone finds that one hard, alot of peeps did it by caravan vanquishing, started at toa, and worked there way to eastern fronteir, or alos starting at beacons and wroking you why there, toa gives 8 party members and beacons 6.

1) It does in fact remove the grawls.
2) It can make it easier - depends on what your team builds are. While less monking, there are more spikers (Sparks of the Titans, Fist of the Titans *with the new 100 Blades buff, they spike*, and Armageddon Lords).
3) You cannot Vanquish without the quest being triggered completely, but you can get about 95% of it done (all elite charr not near titans, all southern enemies, and 1 Armageddon Lord).
4) Keep in mind, if Adelbern dies, you die.
@Snieves: You mean Yak's Bend, not Beacon's Perch.

The way I completed it was just ran the trip necro, and brought the ebon canguard assassin support + summon ruby dkin.
Enter the zone from the outpost, kill the devourers first for minions, then go against the grawl. pressure not the monks (have higher survavability thanks to heal area) but the hammer warrior, keeping up your djin and the sin. eventually the hammer warriors die and you can outpressure the monks.
It gets very tough in the norther areas though, there is a group with three grawl monks which I found quite tough. Hang in there, though And you'll be alright.

Struggled for a while trying to vanq this with heroes (4man). In the end I took my human buddy as a Dom Mesmer and it relatively easy compared to the struggle I had previously.
I think the build we had was something like
Human Derv tank
Human Dom Mes
Dunk HB/GoLE
MM/Bomber Nec

Thanks for the advice. This is one of the last areas I need to finish fo Legendary. Those healers have been able to outheal anything I've done so far (so yes, lvl 30 titans might be better!)
Prophecies has by far the most difficult areas as far as vanquishing goes. You can tell it wasn't built with titles in mind. I've vanquished/guardianed/mapped both other contintents and now I need to slog through NPCs that can't survive long enough for you to reach them in HM missions, sick bosses in the middle of explorable areas and super healer groups. Not complaining, a challenge is nice, but just sayin'.

eastern frontier vanquish
Hello
Parson Brown, i sent you a private message, wondering if you recieve it, anyway by looking at your profile, i assume youplay a ele, any way, im avalible to give you a hand if you like, im usally on, after 4:30 PM eastern standard time, and most of the day on weekends, i play a ranger, caan run all builds, already got legendary vanguisher title, i think, if you run secondary mesmer, with a couple of interupts, i can run broadhead arrow, bring a healers boon monk, and a jagged bones MM, we can get it done for you, with some careful pulling, if your interested, give me a holler, other solution is to come, not surte boriss pass or frost gate over with 6 man party, and have a mesmer in hte party to help with interupt.

I left from Ruins of Surmia outpost, which gave me better chances of pulling. Either that or I just hit a lucky spawn day.

Too much time :(
I just finished this area with heroes. Tried almost 20 times different builds and at last - success .
It was quite easy with careful pulling of the mobs. One group at a time and its ok.

Ran this as a R/Rt with the out-of-the-box Sabway and no problems as I recall, just take one group at a time, the grawl will separate if you flag your heros back far enough. My build was:
[Pain Inverter][Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support][Lightning Reflexes][Broad Head Arrow][Savage Shot][Distracting Shot][Finish Him!][Flesh of My Flesh]
[Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support] + Ebon Vanguard Title will save your booty here. One-shot explosions of charr flamethrowers are a big help *At rank 7 ebon vanguard, a 10% chance of +780 vs. charr
Edit: recurve bow of charrslaying (+20% vs. charr), 15^50, customized (+20%)

We finished this vanq yesterday [3 ppl - rt, mo and n + mo hero]. After many tries with different build tests, we easily did it with echo Vanguard sniper support. Just shoot as long as you have to, and that is, till you head shot the grawl ulodyte monks. You can shoot 80% of them from the upper cliff, where they can't reach you . It takes some time, but its an easy method which wont let you down.

Just did this the other week with a friend of mine. I ran a Curses/Channeling bar (rt/N) with [Lingering [email protected]], had MOX set up as a [wounding [email protected]] Derv, Dunkoro using a standard WoH/hybrid bar and my friend on his ele running [Blinding surge] with technobabble.

I completed Eastern Frontier last night. I'll admit it's the first time I've ever used 3 Discord heroes, but it worked well even without knockdown. I played a Water Magic build, something I didn't think would work, but actually it game me control over the hexes, so as soon as Olias laid down the Enfeebling Blood the Heroes could lay the smack down. They all seem to cast Discord at a similar time, as soon as the "Hex + Condition" condition has been met. Shatterstone spike + 3×Discord seemed to pick off the Ulodytes rather quick.
One Protip for the Eastern Frontier Grawl infestation is to pick them off group by group. Some of them huddle round the statue of lyssa for what can seem like minutes, but they do eventually split off into separate groups, and are able to be picked off that way. I never had to fight a group with more than 2 Ulodytes. The area turned out to be not so hard.

Thanks again for all the ideas. I actually beat this area about a month ago using straight-up Sabway tri-necros and careful pulling. I just pulled groups until they retreat and exploited their tendency to run around like chickens with their heads cut off at that outer limit of their movement range!
Finally killed Rotscale last night to finish Legendary Vanquisher. Took me a couple weeks! It's sad that I couldn't kill him with a party of 8, but just me and a monk hero alone had no trouble at all... (modified PvX 2-monk Rotscale farm to fit my ele and a monk hero, got it on first try with only one wipe)
