lol, so few sin builds. What about the shadow form build where it is kept up? has anyone used that? i personally believe it would be a killer in the 1v1.

Since there are so few sin builds, I'll show mine...
1. (Elite) Palm Strike
2. Critical Strike
3. Twisting Fangs
4. Blinding Powder
5. Shadow Refuge
6. Critical Defenses
7. Critical Eye
8. Critical Agility
Attributes:
11 Dagger Mastery
6+1 Shadow Arts
12+1+3 Critical Strikes
Zealous Daggers help..
Nothing fancy... and pretty straight forward. For the most part this is just to beat Bison. It can be difficult to get to him with this build as enemies like Mhenlo, and Argo and others that can blind will cause you problems.
Beating Bison is also not 100% certain, critical defenses doesnt block 100% of the time, you can get unlucky and get creamed. Irresistible Blow will still hit you... block or not.. so you have to understand that. For using the build it's pretty simple. Before the fight, critical eye, run through the gates, critical agility, critical defenses, charge him. Palm Strike, blinding powder, twisting fangs... Try to keep shadow refuge up whenever possible so when he does hit you're regening. Time your attacks after irresistible blow so youre not knocked down and interupted. You should crit enough to keep critical defenses up at all times which will keep you from being hit by alot of attacks. Just keep repeating the attacks, palm strike twisting fangs, palm strike critical strike. Eventually he'll go down... Proof that it works below.. lol

I use this build on my necro. I've won enough to get several crowns.
N/P
14 Death (I dont used superiors any more unless MMing)
10 Spear (Spear is req 10)
8 Curses (or whatever you get from the remainder)
1 Barbed Spear
2 Slayers Spear
3 Virulence
4 Necrosis
5 Vile Miasma
6 You Move Like a Dwarf
7 Rend Enchantments
8 Finish Him
- There isnt any need for healing skills since my opponents are dead long before I take alot of damage. It also helps having 610 health. However this health amount means you can only user slayers spear on Bison. (More on that below.)
- When fighting Mhenlo, Alesia, and other regen users, apply all your degen first. Then strip their enchants. When they try to use HB or Mystic Regen. Hit them with YMlaD.
- Be sure to interupt Melonni's Avatar.
- When fighting Bison, its all about skill timing. First and for most do NOT let him hit you (aka run away from him). When fight starts hit him with Slayers and Vile Miasma. He will immediately use the purge signet after going bear. When he tries to purge, interupt with YMlaD then put on Virulence. Since YMlaD recharges in 10 and Purge recharges in 20, you can always interupt his signet and keep him degening if you time it right. Cast Necrosis as you can but remember to him not let him hit you. Reapply Virulence and VM as necessary. Remember to conserve your energy so you can interupt his purge signet. Once he is around 30-40% health hit "Finish Him" and the fight should be over. If not, hit him with another necrosis or two.

I didn't even use "you move like a dwarf". Six offensive spirits, painful bond, offering - spawn spirits, pull, hex, /dance

Cast Union and Displacement in the waiting area, step up to the line but don't cross it or your enemy comes running. Cast Pain, Wanderlust, Bloodsong, Anguish, Shadowsong (notice those that live longer get cast first), then cross the line, have your enemy come running, cast Painful Bond ... and on to the next level.
I usually placed my entire bunch in the right corner of the doorway, basically right on the front line of the entrance door, it seems to avoid a blind spot. One exception is Razah, if you get him, sprint out, cast Anguish within his range, hex him with Painful Bond and move out of his range.
If you get the heavy ele hitters, step away from your spirits or they get AoEed. I just hexed and kept moving from the left to the right wall and back.
Shadowsong is reasonably important for Bison Man, and in his case, I kept recasting spirits, just in case, plus obviously rehexing.
Last but not least, it's 12/12 Channeling/Communing, so any /Ri will do. Weapon sets are your friend, being able to switch to +15/-1 and back helps.

I printed out all the ranger builds in this thread... and then this build. I went through all the ranger builds... one by one... and mine still got me further than any of them... but I still couldn't beat Magni with mine. So, after they all failed, mine included, I tried this one (above). I summoned all the spirits, watched my energy go back up to 13, hit C+spacebar, then Painful Bond, and before it even finished activating I saw the big green Victory in the window... almost every single time. Some opponents would last a couple seconds longer. Magni, of course, was a bit more of a challenge. But he was really funnier than he was a challenge. I just lured him to spirits if he came toward me, then ran away and summoned another one or two. It was like leading him around by the nose. After a short time of that, I saw the big green Decisive Victory in the window.
Thanks Dralspire.

Just use Sneak Attack instead of Gash to blind Bison and avoid most of his attacks, you will always be with 75% chance to avoid attacks (from the stances), and can apply -7 health degeneration. He dies in about one minute with this build (its the one I use for pve too)

Spirit tourney build
As a rit i use 16 communing and 13 channeling
Pain vampirism bloodsong anguish shadowsong, painful bond, asura scan(yes 65% more damage comes from your spirit attacks) move like a dwarf(cripple knockdown)...
Lay spirits between the door lines move in and cast painful bond usually 2 volleys from the spirits is a win which takes about 4 seconds.
For bison in the last round hex with pb and asura as he get s close use knockdown and cripple 9 secs he will never touch u and now cant catch u altho hes blinded as well, he will stop to use purge signet so kite and reapply asura(5 secs recharge) , he will be dead in under 10 secs...
As there is no energy managment just lay spirits in order as above longest lasting to least and then wait till u have around 25 energy regenerated b4 tackling the bison...

The BEST build that is possible with ANY profession, even a Warrior!
The Any/Rt Spirit Spammer Build
[skill]Painful Bond[/skill][skill]Brutal Weapon[/skill][skill]Vampirism[/skill][skill]Bloodsong[/skill][skill]Pain[/skill][skill]Wanderlust[/skill][skill]Earthbind[/skill][skill]Shadowsong[/skill]
(Note: Vampirism is a Sunspear rank skill)
12 Communing
12 Channeling Magic
3 (Your Weapon Attribute)(ie. 3 Axe Mastery for an Axe warrior)
Bring along your usual armor, but bring a +15 energy staff at first to cast down all the spirits in order from LEFT to RIGHT. Cast the spirits between the door gap so it doesn't close on you yet. After casting all, switch to a zealous mod weapon and hack and slash away at your target, only stopping to cast Painful Bond on the enemy.

This is the build I used as a monk primary, smiting is fun ^^
[skill]Spirit Bond[/skill][skill]Spear of Light[/skill][skill]Bane Signet[/skill][skill]Stonesoul Strike[/skill][skill]Signet of Judgment[/skill][skill]Holy Strike[/skill][skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill]
Attributes: 12 (+1+1) Smiting, 12 (+1) Protection Prayers, spare in Divine Favor.
Used this build a couple of rounds and it works great. Only Razah gave me some trouble, second try I just rushed in and started off with SoJ to interrupt his first spirit (Wanderlust), then just spam the rest till he's dead.
Melee opponents: Melee opponents drop fast; just press 1-5 and repeat some skills to drop them.
Casters opponents: Some casters stop casting for a while and engage you by simply wanding you, when they do start your chain and they should drop. Monks are a pain but you can take them down. Other casters will only cast spells (Cynn for example) but they should give you no trouble, just use your skills and keep yourself alive.
Magni was easy, keep prot spirit up and use Spirit Bond when your health drops below 200 (without a deep wound from crushing blow) and use the skills, just don't spam them or you'll run out of energy and get yourself killed.

How the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO do you beat these guys with a warrior? Non of the builds here have worked for me.
I don't want to hear "you need practice" I want to hear how all you with you're Grenth's balance builds managed.
Ok, anyone who has beaten this stupid thing got by purely by their own luck. You were obviously fortunate enough to face a string of similar enemies. It's not possible to design a build that is well rounded enough to kill a string of completely different enemies such as I have faced. Anything with a spammable heal beats your typical warrior builds for this hands down. Anything with blind beats you. Anything with weakness beats you. Anything with KD beats you. Seems like all you can do is auto attack against anything that isn't wielding a melee weapon.
What the hell.

Not true. I've beaten most everything (6 win streaks in a row before stopping forever, I guess) with Sever, Gash, Sun and Moon, Distracting Blow, Heal Sig, Riposte, Deadly Riposte, Grenth's Balance.
You can overpower most enemies. I have -40% blind reduction too...interrupt any self heal and you're golden. Spike them before they can heal. Ta da.

I've seen a couple of suggestions for Mesmers (one with Ineptitude, another with Signet of Midnight), but I was wondering how much of a risk would they be on a survivor?
I would like to do this quest with my survivor Mesmer, at least to get Kahmu and Xandra, but would of course prefer to face little to no risk.
Any ideas?

I would not put a survivor into the tourny using anything other than Rt secondary spirit spam.
