thats a pretty good theory except they don't use "Charge!" as their elite skill in eotn.
when i was doing gwens quests she was kinda running off dieing but then again it was against the charr so it was probably just blind rage

Human players do the same and actually try to argue back that they know what they're doing. At least hench are SILENT idiots.

QFT.
At least they don't go AFK or just quit without notice.
At least when they are flagged while I pull they stay there till the pulled mob/monster gets into agro.
AND I can call them all the names in the book!! Without dealing with the injured pride, sulks, downright arrogance and rage-quitting (I know what I'm doing, you #$^%, /ragequit) when I comment on or correct a bad move.
And I can also play without some idiot making up to my char!!!! -.-

The heroes generally get into Leeroy mode if:
1. You CTRL+Click a target and then decide to just attack another without calling it; The heroes will run to the called target if that's in the vicinity. However, if you call another target immediately thereby cancelling the previous call the heroes will follow the lastest call.
2. If you are trying to pull and don't want heroes to attack, flag heroes away from your agro bubble where you decide to pull and settle. Once you have agro get the heroes unleash their fury. If you notice that heroes are running off to attack the mob you are trying to pull, then, you are flagging the heroes too close or the mob is in the vicinity. So, just fall back and choose to pull further back.
Always remember the flag is not a point but a zone. If the heroes are attacking something a little off the flagged position and sometimes even further off the flag position, its simply because it found the monster in the zone.
Hope this helps. And heroes play much better than many human players as they are programmed to do so.

That's normal behavior, and used to one's advantage (have H/H tie up the mob while Sin-babe sashimis the Monk).
This isn't that.

You have a strange definition of "in the vicinity" when the mob is at/beyond the edge of the radar/compass/minimap thing.

Devona is a lot worse than Talon. She just completely flips sometimes and runs off. I don't even take her anymore and she was my favorite henchie.

"Chicken Henchie", "Big Bird"...oh poor Talon is taking some beating. Although slightly belated, I'm only after reading this and finding it somewhat difficult to restrain my laughter. Onto my main point...
I had this problem before GW:EN was released...clearly this has escalated since then. (I don't know, my computer has been broken for a month. -Tear.- ) Anyway, hopefully all will be well by the time I'm back online. In the meantime I'll try not to laugh in public libraries as much.

Let's not forget about Vekk trying to tank. He's the first one to run into a mob when I bring him...so I don't anymore. I think he's trying to overcompensate for something.

It's gotten much worse since GW:EN. I actually loved H/H AI before. I went back to Tyria and Cantha to get my Protector titles with them and breezed through. Right now, I'd be afraid to take them for a walk in the park.

You know, I've actually bought the game full well knowing I don't have a computer to play it on. From what I've read it sounds like a hard mode outwith hard mode. Anyway, I'll give the game a try before I knock it. -Silent anticipation.- ^^

Devona's always done that in my experience. She's dreadful at aggro.

I found a strange consistancy in the inconsistant behavior...
Apparently Koss and Stephan (Hero and Henchie) will both ignore monsters already engaged against the party to run out of combat and hunt down the nearest monk-class monster?!
I think somebody tweaked priorities a little bit too high.

At least heroes/henches don't
- Leave the game at random moments
- Call each other n00b
- Have a big ego (ok, there might be some exceptions )
- Afraid to team up with sins/rits/etc
- Complain when giving them a build not listed on any Wiki
- Ping the mini-map/radar like someone on speed
- Draw pictures on the minimap like genitals or little bunnies etc

Stopped using Devona a long time ago because of her Leroy mentality. Just yesterday I saw most of my H/H team going nuts in one dungeon. Zho (interupt hench) was acting like a touch ranger, Mhenlo was playing Leroy, Talon was running in and out of battle (big bird is really a chicken?) and sometimes they would not attack the called target. Got so frustrated I had to log out and watch television (ugh) for a while.

Koss did the same thing to me. >_<
He went on a WAMMO aggroing spree, aggroing
a lot of Charrs on hard mode. -_-
