40% is alot missing to get cartographer you need to scrape every wall in every area in that map, best thing for cartographer is texmod which will greatally reduce the time mapping.

/search the forums for lots of helpful advice. Also /search for texmod to help you. I went from 70% to 96.7% after DL'ing it.

I concur texmod is the way to go. I did one continent without it and the rest with it. Look it up on wiki. Makes legendary cartographer much easier and less frustrating

Wanted to add that underground areas do not count toward cartographer titles.

There are many zones and outposts in Prophecies that contain large amounts of space, and are not traveled to during the Primary Quests and Missions of the campaign. The GuildWiki maps page found here has a good assortment of maps for you to look at, and see all of the different areas.
If you are going for the Cartographer title, I suggest using Texmod and using the Cartography Made Easy Collection mod.

There's a guide on Wiki, showing some of the forgotten areas you can scrape, for an extra 0.5-1.5% more.
But 40% missing? I know theres lots of Kryta and Southern Shiverpeaks I havent seen, but im at 75% I think, or thereabouts. Some of the desert areas maybe? I know I aint had any reason to go SE Crystal Desert (Arid Sea?) yet, so will explore it some other day.
Otherwise, the areas around ToA, and the place with Verata are often worth going to, or between Maguuma Jungle and Northern Kryta (due to quests, youll get teleported past the liaisons area between the two regions, missing out many % of area).
In other word: texmod, like other said.

I'm at 95.2% I only see little areas left. Last one for Legendary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dont forget the area past the drawbridges in Dunes of Despair...The large area amounts to approximately 0.7% of Tyria...per wiki

This is sort of related.
When using the Cartography Made Easy mod, is it possible to see which parts are supposed to be inaccessible? Like those little grey triangles that sometimes form on the corner of a map... I never know if that is considered complete or not. Sometimes even approaching from multiple adjacent zones doesn't clear them out.
p.s. I got GMC the old way on two characters, so it's not like I'm bad at scraping. This is just a lot faster.
