LOL did it a long time ago (on HM surely), had some healers (one MM hybrid), me, nuker, SV interrupt N/Me, SS.
We were 3 Humans 3 heroes....steamrolled the bastard, no deaths from our side.

my guild does a weekly vanquish area and this was are area last week. we had a balanced group and it seemed like we had less trouble with rotscale and his buddies then run to get to the area from toa. but we had monks stand outside the area and did a lot of pulling and the few resses we had to wait til frozen ground was gone to to that

Im trying to remember what I took, I just did this with a friend last night.
SS (me) with pain inverter and smooth criminal
SH ele (friend)
Heal monk
Prot monk
Sword Warrior with bleed, deep wound and maybe an interrupt/knockdown
N/Rt healer
Minion bomber
Interrupt Mesmer
We died once but its only because the interrupt mesmer died. Once that mesmer is on him, he can't do shit, and even if he can, pain inverter does a nice job. Deep wound takes 20% off of that 5600 life so thats a BIG help. Also if you can corner him and cast AoE like Meteor Shower and Savannah Heat he will just run around in the AoE and do nothing.

When we did this we had a bunch of warriors, a ranger and a mesmer, and a monk human, and filled out the rest with heroes. We just pulled real careful, beat the hell out of his army, then rolled him little by little.

Ok i have a really good memory, and i remember this..
Gloria Vander Belt posted herself Vanquishing rotscale with no problem using hero and hench-(god i hate Gloria Vander Belt)
Using
Herself-Bleeding Gash sword war with good survival and energy management, and i think Skull crack elite wich leaves casters dazed
Hero healer, WoH, with heavy healing skills and protective spirit
Hero Nuker, Savannah heat/Arcane Echo/ and some other heavy nuking skills
Hero SV- Standard SV blood degen build
Henchmen=Healer/Nuker/Mesmer/Ranger

I'll add my 2 cents. I cleared him a few days ago when I was vanquishing tyria. He was hard to kill, but once you get the spawns near the shrine across the bridge, just flag the heros/henchies back and pull oldschool w/ a longbow, and take the flag off quickly so they come to heal you before you die.
I had 1 HB hero monk, the sabway MM, the sabway SS, alesia, orion, reyna, and stefan. In fact it was one of the easiest and fastest zones to clear in tyria in my opinion
PS: even though i was h/h'ing it, the bow still dropped for me, im one lucky dude (not)

I just vanquished Majesty's Rest with H and H. I was a BA ranger, and I took an SS N and an N/Rt, Jin as an R/P w/ shouts, Alesia, Orion, Reyna and Stefan... but the problem wasn't really Rottie. He just took a long time. It was me being stupid. I was trying to take out the clerics first, and they were impossible to pull. I finally went after the skeleton rangers and the necrotic horseman and once they were gone, the clerics were easy and so was the rest.

Worked for me, though I had to disable OOP and DF for the most part so I dont get insta gibbed by Desecrate Enchantments.

Well I've had trouble with Rotscale he seams to be my kryptonite, I couldn't even kill him in normal mode before there was a hard mode and now I have to kill him to be able to advance my vanquisher title, I've tried everything in this thread that doesn't require real people too no avail, in the past I tried with fall 8 man teams and failed.
It's obviously doable by the undeniable fact of screen shots, but one thing that is missing is a screen shots of this so called good spawn points, every time I've gone there he is standing right in the middle of the stairs at the doors.
Anyway help would be appeachated indeed, further more I've put a post on Smokey & Co's thread to pay to have it done, if anyone can do it without me I'd gladly pay to have him murdered, Majesty's Rest 25k is the going rate for Smokey & Co. and I'll throw in the bow if it drops for myself to whom ever the party leader is.

Well I've been trying it's not for the want of none effort, I've vanquished everything up this one area and beyond it, from far eastern frontier to Talmark Wilderness by myself, I could vanquish even majesty's rest if it wasn't for rotscale, I've been trying for 2 days with all manner of build constructions, making some of my own, running Usran on myself (which by the way makes getting there a breeze).
The problem I have is this; my Guild is dead I can't leave it because it has sentimental value to me and those still left in it so I have no one but H/H available to me, I've sat for the best part of today in ToA paying people to run it for me for 25k (no one has yet taken up the offer), everything I've tried in this thread has failed I'm obviously missing some sort of tactical know how that I'm just not getting, I'm farely certain that I could vanquish the rest of the game but this small part.
I've had messages from people but have declined when I said hard mode, and there reply is basically 'stuff that'.
The only thing I'm yet to try is multi consets, cc's & power stones, and just plain good old fashioned death - death - death - power stone - kill one "yay", death death death - power stone - kill one.
The problem with minions is this you may have just gotten lucky with that, because without a body count to keep up for the long hall your screwed when you run out of corps.
--- STOP THE PRESS [Done] -- and without having to pay someone that feels so much better!! will post the exact build when I'm done cleaning this area of evil.

Then added Dunham / Orion / Claude / Alesia, the only part I am slightly ashamed of is I used a conset but if it gets the job done why complain.
The tactical data I was missing to all my plans was (drum roll) he has to be on the right side of the mountain, not in the middle.
Started off all fine and well, pined the SS at the end of the bridge maintained [Protective Spirit] [Dwayna's Kiss] & [Dismiss Condition], disabled Extinguish because it was messing up my grove I was in, because it would remove conditions I was using to remove to heal him up, killed off the 3 rangers at the top, had a couple of party clears but no matter still have a conset and a power stone to use, killed of the crelics before the necred horsemen because I was sick of them healing the horsemen, then polished him off and still have yet to use the conset.
The rest of the team was still on the other end of the bridge safe as can be for the time being, Rotting Scale same way [Spiteful Spirt].
Rotscale, ran up to up him started beating on him with my sword doing -1 -2 dmg, while the rest of the H/H did the dmg, [Protective Spirit][Dismiss Condition] on myself and maintained [Healers Boon] and [Heal Party] when required, you might need to [Dismiss Condition] on yourself from time to time, had 1 party death while I was taking him down (due to me being dazed and not noticing it), that's when I activated the conset, because he was half health and I'll be damned if he was going to beat me this time, took about 12mins to kill him.
It was also a run of firsts my first scalp of Rotscale (not even killed him in normal mode yet), Elite Ranger Tome, and first time I've ever used a conset.

It can indeed by done with Sabway; I can vouch for it because I just did it by more or less the same method. The key is that you don't have to be afraid of party wipes for two reasons: first, there's a statue of Balthazar right at the entrance of the island, so if you're willing to pay 100g per 2% of DP, you can wipe it off easily; and second, once you get rid of Rotscale's annoying friends, you can keep pressuring him, without taking tons of damage, until he dies. So DP isn't a disaster anyway.
I'm not saying it was easy, but all I had to do was change some skills on MY bar. The Sabway heroes were fine, though I'm sure [spoil victor] would have helped on one of the necros. Anyway, I swapped my elite for [skull crack], and also added [plague touch], as many on here have recommended. Both worked great once I finally got there. (They were hardly ideal for Talmark Wilderness and all the other places you have to slog through first.) Getting rid of the other rotting dragons wasn't much fun, but they did die one by one with concentrated fire, and then after a wipe on my part Rotscale was left by his lonesome. ... Resurrected and came back for the final kill. Interrupting him constantly and always sending him back his dazed condition with [plague touch], I made him lose health slowly but steadily until he finally croaked.
Oh, and I left from Temple of Ages and took an eight-man team, including Claude, Alesia, and two other henchies. Claude and Alesia were crucial. And I rezoned a couple of times because I didn't like Rotscale's spawn points. It makes a huge difference if he's at the back end of the island, allowing you to pick off the skeleton bowmasters and necrid horsemen and damned clerics without aggroing the real nasty guys.
