I'm at the stage in the 'Mayhem in the Market' mission where I've been sent off to find Jinzo.

My party eventually just fails in the Undercity, just as we near Jinzo - there's bloody Kappas and Am Fah everywhere. We just get completely swarmed and picked off.

It's basically my Mesmer/Warrior LV14 (Brute Sword/Ornate Bucker; Clairvoyant Staff; Foehammer; Cleaver/Ornate Buckler), Headmaster Vhang [Shock Henchman], Panaku [Cutthroat Henchman], Su [Grave Henchman], Sister Tai [Healer Henchman], Talon Silverwing [Fighter Henchman], Zho [Archer Henchman], Professor Gai [Spirit Henchman].

Just as we near the stairs/sewers where Jinzo is, we get butchered.

Any tips how to get through this in one piece?

(1) Get higher level - go back and do the side quests on starter island or do some of the ones around Kaineng Center; (2) Don't play as a melee mesmer at lvl 14 against lvl 20 enemies with only henchmen to support you. (Assumption based on your use of melee weapons - maybe you are only using them for health at a distance and not actually using melee skills or running into melee range to autoattack, I can't tell from your post.)

I'd say both of those are your biggest problems at the moment.

If you get slaughtered in that quest, Vizunah Square is going to be a wipeout too, so you'll be helping yourself out a lot by levelling up more before you try tackling this quest again.

By the way, have you done the two quests to get you your missing 30 attribute points yet? One's at Ran Musu Gardens (Treasure quest), the other's at Seitung Harbor (Zun Raa's quest, ring the bell near the storage chest to make the NPC appear). Also, have you visited Kaineng Center to pick up your max (60) armour?

Not using meelee skills. Mainly using mesmer skills with a couple sword attacks.

And no, haven't done any of the quests you mentioned. In fact, had no idea they existed.

Sword attacks are melee skills.

The max armor you get at Kaineng Center will help, but it's still basically tissue paper. Let Talon hang out in melee range while you stay back and throw spells.

Cheers for that, haha. Yeah, I've spent the day levelling up. So far at 17. Gonna push for 20 within the next day. Splurge on the armor, and do whatever other minor quests I have lying around just for that extra umph. Then I'm gonna get back to Mayhem in the Market - though I've heard it takes forever. :S

A good way to do some easy and fast xp at that point, if you didn't do it already, is unlock travels to other campaigns, if you have them. They give you, I think, 3000 xp each.
