Abaddon's Gate seems impossible
Okay so I've been stuck on Abaddon's Gate for a couple of days. I must've tried about 20 or 30 times so far with various builds and I've only managed to get him past half health once. I've tried searching for this and tried using some of the builds suggested on here but I can't seem to get anything to work. It always goes okay the first takedown, kill all the monoliths easily and do some damage to Abaddon, but then as soon as the monoliths respawn everything just goes to hell. Abaddon starts using words of madness every few seconds and my healers just don't seem to do anything. I'm doing it with four monks and they're all just standing around while the whole team's health is going down bit by bit until the whole party wipes, and the monks just do nothing! It's not because they're out of energy because they're not (apart from Ogden who seems to have energy management problems even though he's using the same build as tahlkora and dunkoro). I just can't figure out what's going wrong here and it's incredibly frustrating, especially when i see everyone on here say how easy it is.
I'm playing R/E and the last build I tried was troll ungent, poison tip sig, burning arrow, needling shot, screaming shot, hunters shot, apply poison, res sig. In my party i've got Jora, koss, gwen, ogden, dunkoro, tahlkora and mhenlo. the monks are running a slight deviation of the generic healer build from here.
Has anybody else had problems like this? What am I doing wrong?

Just make sure you flag your team to either the left or right after abaddon gets up. Get some copies of Extinguish, Light of Deliverance or Burst, Cautery Signet so that you can laugh at WoM (daze must be your problem)...
Rest is nothing short of a joke...

Four healers is overkill, and if they use those builds or similar, then your team lacks protection, or damage reduction/prevention. You'll also want condition removal. Your healers are probably dazed much of the time, which would explain why they are ineffective. That, or they are being knocked down.
Your own bar could use some revision; Poison Tip Signet and Apply Poison are redundant. Pick one. Apply + Burning Arrow will stack more than the maximum degen on Abaddon. Screaming and Hunter's aren't very useful, but pick one or the other if you really want bleeding. Sloth Hunter's will (almost)always add the stronger bonus damage against him.

if you really need help, pm me in game (commander caan) and i can group up with you
several things i noticed about your build:
too many monks, not enough damage. honestly, the hero ai sucks as melee dps because they dont chain skills correctly and dont use ias, so i would replace any melee heroes. and bow damage is lacking generally in pve. i would go r/a which does great dps considering you can spam jagged, fox fangs, and death blossom with zelous dagger and great energy management and you have a free elite slot. i would also bring an sos, even if you dont have a rit, just put it on a necro or something. remember that you can fight two of the monoliths at once, and you generally will have enough room to not aggro any other ones. other than that, i dont know what to tell you

People mostly try to run away from Abbaadon before monolith respawn to avoid KD, but in HM it sometimes causes split and pulling 2 or 3 groups of moliths (if you don't have Fall back). I found much better to stay where challange Abbdon, take the damage and KD and heal! (monk and resto rit or n/rt can easily heal the whole group). Fight with the one group of Monoliths spawns next to you. If you stay together, you must survive. Than kill the rest.
Bring RoJ, 2 healers, SoS and the rest doesn't really matter.
PM me in game if you need help. (I live in Europe GMT+1)

Pretty much what people have already said:
1. Keep track of the time while he's down and get out of the center lane before he gets back up.
2. Kill the side monoliths before the center one.
3. Party-wide condition removal.
4. Party-wide heals.

Conditions and hexes aren't that great VS abbadon himself, and the monoliths have no flesh. Abby has resistance so all conditions are like half duration or less and the degen doesn't do much to dent his HP. This can work to your advantage with Wastrel's Worry though, you can spam it through the daze(or order a hero to do so). If I was a ranger I'd take a hard hitting spiky type bar, Glass Arrows or another + damage prep with Tripple Shot>Penetrating Shot>Sundering Shot>Savage Shot/punishing shot, then Body shot/dual shot>penetrate>sunder>Savage/punish, on a hornbow(the last 3 attacks recharge in sync, and you can alternate between trip shot and body shot for if you need energy, basically every 5 seconds you launch 4-6 arrows at something and it dies or gets hurt). Put on the lightbringer title and just spike stuff out, interrupt torment claws ect. The energy gets tight(even at 14 expertise, everything costs 4 energy), but you can swap in a zealous weapon, or take some ritualist or paragon energy support skills.
In fact a rit hero or paragon hero is pretty badass here, there are rit item spells that kill conditions in earshot, these can be pre cast, spirits tear up the monoliths, and spirit's gift can save the party if timed right with signet of spirits, and as mentioned cautery sig for paragons, fall back to move the party, lots of energy, damage and party buffing utility that abby can't strip. Also We Shall Return is a decent Anti-wipe, even on a paragon secondary.
Another hint, Everytime you kill 2 monoliths you get morale, so give everybody res signets instead of normal res skills. Free daze proof full health res that recharges constantly is win. Also pretty much any long recgarge skill that would normally be prohibitive works, for example spirits gift, even though it may get ripped recharges fast, By Ural's Hammer! Will be charged constantly. Ray of Judgement or other nukes like savanah heat, fire storm and whatnot can be used by heroes every time a set of monoliths dies, it gets recharged, use glyph of lesser and hit the next mob or abby.
Just watch out for the word of madness. Abbadon with ALWAYS cast it about 2 seconds after he puts his head down, and seemingly randomly throughout the fight. If you time it JUST right, you can get pain inverter on him the second before he does word (when he pouts his head down)for massive damage. Pain inverter will only last about 1 second on abbadon, so make it count, but if you do, and you have spirits in play he will lose almost or over 1000 health. It's also decent for the dervish monoliths and claws.
Sometimes you just get a punk run, a set of monoliths will glitch and you'll be fighting a live monolith while trying to attack abbadon or they'll bind the wrong chain, you'll get just really lame claw spawns(i've had like 3 at once in the backline...) the monos will just refuse to die, but I've managed to turn abby's gate into a farmy experience. I can beat it in 5-10 minutes and I get stupid rich on Z-Coins when it comes around.

Do not use skills such as Weapons of Remedy or Reversal of Damage or anything that reflect damage back to the attackers? Abaddon seems to use WoM only if he loses health or takes damage.

Using many shouts from warriors and paras with party heal monks should support the party fairly ok. Running back when monoliths spawn is a good idea. Should focus more on killing the monoliths faster.

Take Wastrell's Worry, Wastrell's Demist, a Spirit Spammer, etc...It's not that difficult if you setup your bars accordingly. Also, flag your heroes when Abaddon deactivates straight back, this will make the mission a lot easier.
