We brought two heroes - my Tahlkora as prot and another guy's Dunkoro as healer. Other than that we just did some pretty normal fighting, no touch rangers or anything.
...we even had an assassin and won! :O

Poor assassins I H/H all of EoTN on my sin including this mission and the next, not to mention Factions [when there were hench only] and NF.

This still can be done with just 2 or 3 lifestealing necros (just load up on cheap spammable spells - don't use touch ones) and the 2 hench monks. No kegs needed and Cynder will never go underground.

Actually touch-ranger heroes still work. Use the set-up from earlier on in this thread.
You, three touch-ranger heroes, Cynn, Herta, Mhenlo and Lina.

Hard maybe impossible "solo" (w/ HH)
I don't think you can do this as the solo human with heroes/hencies - someone might prove me wrong of course. Get at least one other human, the more the merrier.

Just bring a hero necro with these skills. Flag him at the gate. You and the rest of the parties sit outside and just heal the necro. The necro should be able to suck his blood to death.

I've used this setup:
hero:
1 monk - bonder,
1 warrior - sever + apply poison,
1 touch ranger,
henchman:
Mhelno,
Lina,
Eve,
Herta
and me E/Mo with heal party. Just put bonds (mending + life barrier + life bond + watchful spirit) on warrior and ranger, then order them to attack Cyndr (flag rest behind the wall). Use heal party when necessary (when your energy goes low Eve would use blood ritual on you).

As I said, I went as degen/vamp necro - took Spoil Victor nec hero, Rit Lord (parked by the door), and an interrupt ranger hero (Broad Head Arrow).

I did this yesterday with full H/H and no lifestealing and no party wipe. Just use flags to spread party out, I used kegs to weaken and had to repeat about three times before she died. Not fast but not that hard. Me as beastmaster ranger, 3 necro heroes, 2 warrior, 2 monk hench.

Life stealing owns him. Just take whatever H/H team build gets you to Cyndr the easiest and make sure you have a prot monk with Protective Bond and another with Mending (and Watchful Spirit). Apply enchants and then go out and suck the life out of him with blood magic. Easy as pie and pretty fast too.

A Ranger/Necromancer using Expertise to lower cost of low recharge-high mana life stealing touch skills. Usually requires factions.
Max Expertise and Blood magic, then skill up:
Vampiric touch, Vampiric bite, Offering of Blood (elite energy management). The rest is optional, but usually, Throw dirt, Whirling defense are thrown in.
Works on heroes, but you are advised to remove the heroes' weapons (so they don't attack) and set them to aggressive and then keep a close look on them, as they are liable to stand around doing nothing until they are attacked.
Mind you, three of those and Cyndr goes down with no trouble. I'm so happy to have found out this weekend

Do the TRs work in HM? Anybody try yet? I've been thinking about attempting the dungeons in HM but I'm thinking this wank is gonna hurt me bad. He was an irritation in NM.

No, problem, Villain. A touch ranger is an Expertise/Blood Magic Ranger/Necro that takes full advantage of a ranger's ability to avoid harm (Whirling Defense/Dryder's Defenses) and the reduction in spell costs due to a high Expertise attribute. They can do massive amounts of damage and, in Cyndr's case, suck away his life right through his carapace -- so no bothering with kegs which, if you have an all hero/hench team, are a pain.
Here is an effective touch ranger build for Cyndr suggested by Mark Nevermiss from earlier in this thread:
[skill]vampiric bite[/skill][skill]vampiric touch[/skill][skill]throw dirt[/skill][skill]whirling defense[/skill][skill]dryder's defenses[/skill][skill]offering of blood[/skill][skill]troll unguent[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
Attribute points:
Blood Magic: 12
Expertise: 11+1+2
Wilderness Survival : 6+1
Touch rangers should be given wands/focus items or staffs for extra energy.
See also Touch Rangers.

I may have to try this. The only drawback is that my main has only Pyre as a ranger. /ponders
I may have to finally finish NF just to get the other two.

Depending on how far along in the Nightfall storyline they are, it doesn't take too long. Acolyte Jin comes early and Margrid not too long after. However, as others have mentioned here, Necro heroes with similar skills work well against Cyndr also, though I haven't tried this. It seems (to me) like keeping them alive would be much more difficult but, as I said, I haven't actually tried it.
My warrior did the mission with only two touch rangers, by the way, so three is not critical for it to work -- just a bit faster.

Yeah, but I took Souske (hate him) and MoW (creepy old dude ftw). SO to get Jin and Margrid requires finishing the storyline. Ah well. Just two missions to do.
