If that is what he did mean he should state that because it will confuse some people. Yes the Necro main is a good Idea unless you want to be a High energy user like Elementalist then necro as sec. If you want warrior better go necro main, or you will regret it in the arena

This doesn't make any sense. You seem to be saying that armour choice isnt important for a N/W because the skills you have bypass armour. You arent going to be trying to kill yourself though, so your armour in relation to your skills is irrelavent, its the armour of the people you are fighting that wont matter so much. For the N/W he is still going be fighting pure melee chars and elementalists so armour is very important for him.

As said before it's mainly the energy difference. Also it depends on how you like to play. A person who goes to very front should definately pick primary warrior, but necrowarriors can cast curses or draining spells then go into battle. The armor isn't as strong for necro, but the self regeneration spells lessen the damage. In a one on one it is more probable the warrior would win, but common, Guild Wars is a team game.

I just went and created a necro primary with mesmer as secondary simply because I wanted the soul reaping + inspiration magic to cover any and all energy problems I might have, thus allowing me to spam the shit out of death magic to my hearts content. To be teleporting around, controlling an army of dead peoples, and stealing energy whenever you need it you can do a fair bit of work for your team.
Also, what I intend to do with this character is mainly big explosions.
Since the necro's soul reaping ability will give me energy whenever a death goes by (about 9 energy actually), and with inspiration magic to pull even more energy in, it won't be difficult to pull some minions when you need to, and then it's just a matter of casting death nova on one of your minions, then using taste of death (or whatever that spell is that pulls a few hundred health from your minion) thus killing it, and BAM, kamikaze dead guy.
I just think it'll be fun more than anything.

There is exacly 1 good pvp build that requires necro primary and that is curses nuker. All other builds are either poor in pvp or they are better with other primary.

My main char is a N/W and I don't use death magic. My skills are into blood, curses and hammer. I dont do a good deal of damage with my hammer because I dont have strength, but I make up for it in vampirism skills that drain your enemy and give you his life. Also, things like weaken armor can help take away the warriors armor advantage pretty quick. In PVE skills like Mark of Pain can really be useful when you run into a huge grp of mobs. However, Ide never claim to be a main tank or caster, but I can really help my team as a secondary of both.
But like any build out there, its only as good as the player behind it.
EDIT- Oh, and I wanted Neco as my primary because my build needs more energy and energy regen then a warrior primary can give me.

I have a lvl 14 N/W(as of 5/14/05, named Sepher the Broken, shout me a holler yo) and most of my points are in Blood and death magic, and swordmanship on W side.
Not all death magic spells are summons or need bodies. I uses siphons and rotting flesh on guys and then run it with the chopsockey, using blood magic to substain me until a body falls then its raise or explosion time, depending on situation.
My PvP career isnt so bad and my PvE is incredible until i get jumped by warrior/monks(the boring bastards) in the arenas.
Plus my guy looks a little like me and the armor is sweet looking.
Oh and i know about the run-on sentences....this isnt grammar class so dont waste your time.

I stand corrected. Last night I met and teamed with an awsome L20 W/N at The Copperhammer Mines. He helped several of us make the trek to The Granite Citadel after we had failed the trip several times. His build relies on Strength, Hammer Mastery, and Blood Magic. He uses several warrior elites along with two necro elites to do some of the best tanking I've seen. He emailed some info about his build to me to try to get me to roll one up after I got done bugging him, but he's got *alot* of time into getting the 6 elites that make it possible. His weapon, as he admitted, took more time to find/build than getting the elites. I imagine early on you would be mostly warrior with a drain or two as heals until you can start farming bosses for the elites and find the right weapon. Might be worth a shot though...
Here are the skills he uses:
Warrior Skills
Warrior's Endurance (Elite)
Defy Pain (Elite)
Battle Rage (Elite)
Devastating Hammer (Elite)
Heavy Blow
Nercomancer Skills
Life Transfer (Elite)
Offering of Blood (Elite)
Vampiric Touch
Here are his base (and modified) attribute assignments:
Strength: 10 (13 with a sup. rune, sup. rune of vigor to counter the -hp)
Hammer: 10 (12 with a min. rune and HM +1 grip)
Blood magic:11
Final Weapon:
Furious Giant Slayer's Hammer of Hammer Mastery (Gold)
Blunt Damage: 19-35(req. 12 Hammer Mastery)
Double adrenaline on hit(10% chance while attacking)
+1 Hammer Mastery
+20% Damage(While health is above 50%)
If you look up what the skills do you can see more or less how the build works. It allows him access to alot of energy to fuel Life Transfer and Vampiric Touch through Warrior's Endurance and Offering of Blood. Defy Pain makes up for the -25 HP he has from using the superior Strength rune and the 10% blood cost to use Offering of Blood and it gives extra AL. I've seen some really tankish builds using Tactics, but he seems to do better at least in PvE because he is stealing alot of life rather than just preventing incoming damage. He stays alive *and* is killing while he does it. NTM, a Tactics specialist is still vulnerable to drains, and long periods of weakness and knockback are bad no matter what your class is. That said, I think this build is also pretty darn viable for PvP if coupled with the right supporting teammates. This particular player isn't interested in PvP, so he just said "no, no xp or drops for PvP" when I asked his PvP success rate.
Because Battle Rage dumps all your adrenaline when it ends, he goes into two cycles, first attacking all out with just Life Transfer's +6 HP pips, and then he takes about 15 seconds to cast Warrior's Endurance, Offering of Blood, Vampiric Touch, Life Transfer again, and finally Defy Pain before using Battle Rage and continuing another attack cycle with Devastating Hammer followed by Heavy Blow. I think he gets three sets of his attack combo off before BR ends with quite a few regular attacks in between. I also noticed he changes targets to make sure most of the monsters are on their backs suffering from weakness, rather than killing them off one at a time. This way, at least three mobs are not dealing damage while he does his draining routine. For the three rangers and two elementalists backing him up, it was easy pickins to clean up once he went in and started doing his thing. No wonder he kept saying "No monks please. We don't need one.".
Gonna try a W/N myself to see how bumpy the road is, but his results in the end seem to far outweigh the energy drawbacks early on.

If you balance out your blood magic, death magic, and curses stats you can create a very powerful character, even before you take on a second profession. Blood magic skills like blood turn a corpse into a regeneration tank to help your entire party. Warrior as a second profession is a good choice, however. just remember to keep all your stats even. I'm kicking myself because I only focused on blood magic and death magic early on and I didn't pay attention to curses. Curses are your friend, keep this in mind.

The only time you can have multiple elites on your skill bar is after you capture them using SoC. My record was 4 elites at the same time (1 actual elite when you start the mission and 3 SoCs).
*Added* Of course you can only do this in one sitting. The skill slots where the newly captured elites reside will be blanked out by the next mission.
