Understand your class is the best tip. Your goal is to do damage. Get an elemental sword/axe and Conjour element for extra damage. In PvP try not to be the main focus of the other group so you can use frenzy early on or beserk later when you get the skill. Look for weapons that give you +damage while enchanted and go for other gear that gives you +HP vs +Power, since you can't really heal yourself you need the extra HP.
Axe is really good in PvE because of the Ae axe skill (well till you get 100 blades).
Learn to switch targets quickly. Stop hitting something that is getting healed over and over, switch off and disrupt something else. (that goes for any PvP group though).
Don't waste power on any nukes.
Nothing else really. It's just like any other class.

Oh I disagree with the "wasting power on nukes"
I'm a lvl 17 W/E and I my att points in Sword, Strength, Tactics and Fire. Mainly in sword and fire. I like to group with the henchman mainly due to the fact real people are 80% of the time incompetant. A lot of the time I'll watch what's attacking the healer. Now, you don't want to waste all your time chasing the monster attacking the healer and not be helping the others, so a lot of the time I'll cast firestorm on the group, then go save the healer. Most of the time when I get back, they're all dead. Remember that warriors have great adrenaline attackes, specially the sever artery and gash combo. Use these if you use your power for the nukes.
There is no point wasting a nuke like firstorm unless there are three or more monsters STATIONARY in a group. Monsters who use long ranged attacks are the best to use firestorm on. Firestorm casts while the mosters are still outSIDE the aggro circle, so unless you check what they are, chances are as soon as they start getting hit they'll all move and seperate.. 15 power wasted.
Oh, and don't forget the Glyph of Lesser Energy. I equip that when I go and farm elementals for cash and drops. Means your first fire storm uses no energy. Result!

Firestorm is a waste in PvP. People will just move. In PvE Cyclone Axe + Conjour Ele will do more damage for less power. Standing for 4 seconds to cast a 15 power spell just doesn't seem efficient. But of course in PvE, where they just stand there I guess it could work. But Cyclone would still be the better choice and not require 2 spots on your bar to cast.

I agree with Mistress Eyahl since i use that method right now, but i might switch to the axe one like mentioned to test it out.
Also Gladiator armor i beleive is good since it gives you more energy too.

You cannot use adrenaline attacks (for sword) on skeleton rangers. Casting firestorm on skeleton rangers, well.. they all drop like stones. Like I mentioned, ONLY bother using it when three or more enemies are stationary.. i.e. long ranged OR if all your group are actually in a group.
I think the great thing about this game is there are so many combos. I'm a W/E and I use a sword and fire magic cos that's the easiest so far. I get a weapon, a defensive shield and firestorm is obvious. As i progress I may switch to say.. a hammer and ice attack combo. Even though people can be the same class and the same level, I doubt many will fight the same way. Bear in mine i switch Skills, Atts and Weapons depending on what sort of monster I will be fighting. Sword and fire are just my default

War/E is so dealy people don't even realize it until it's too late. The problem with people is that they look at your main class and see Warrior, ok, we kill him after we take out the monks healing him. No big deal right. Wrong. Their biggest mistake is letting us get to their support group, behind the front lines. You won't see any pure Elementalist run past 3 warriors usually but we War/E are on a mission... yea. A seek and blow up mission. We're like little walking time bombs. When we hit their caster group, which is usually (and I don't know why) not spread out, it becomes devastating. Hundred Blades with conjured elements flash out, springing up a screenfull of damage, then the Earthquake hits.. bam, then the aftershock.. boom.. then a nice flurry of attack skills capped off with a Final Thrust and something dies, the others try to run. Will they make it ? Muahahaha!! No.
