Is shooting arrows over a wall to kill the enemy condsidered an exploit?

Normally it won't let you hit if you can't see the enemy directly, i.e. if there's a wall between you and the target, it will tell you your view is obstructed. Can you give us a more specific example?

I think he means if you CAN see over a wall, and your attacking a melee enemy who can't get around to you. IMO, this is not an exploit, because that is simply something a ranger/ranged attacker can do. It's just like attacking from a hill, an advantage.

I am a necro and I jumped (nectrotic trasnferal) the wall to a corpse of an enemy that a Ranger killed with an arrow shot over the wall.

Some people are saying that necrotic tranferal is an exploit and I'm saying that is good use of a skill.

As far as I'm concerned if necrotic transferal is an exploit then so is shooting an arrow over the wall.

Both are skills and both are being used propgerly.

Squeezing through the gate planks is an exploit (or is it?)

I heard that arenanet fixed it so you cant necrotic transversal on thirsty any more, as of the june 8th update.

Necrotic transversal can only be exploited in places where the developers neglected to consider it. I think they should add a "no transversal" flag to mobs that can be used to "exploit" like this. Regardless of whether or not it's an "exploit", it's a metagaming tactic, it probably doesn't help you much, and I wouldn't use it.

Hell no, I shoot fire storm, phoenix and occasionally flare over obstacles all the time. I don't consider it an exploit for one reason only. The attack goes over the wall all by itself. Like stated above it would tell you whether or not you could target the enemy. So if it hits, it's a-okay.

I prefer to kill it an advantage... not an exploit. Your ranger, you have a bow and thats what your suppose to do and people actually want Rangers for the Thirsty River mission which is quite nice to hear.
