Thanks.

The ones in the desert that pop out of the ground at the worst possible times ? I never had a problem with them. Just don't run, stand your ground and kick their butt (do worms have butts?). I find making them bleed/poison/degen drops them quicker, if that helps.

What happens when you are confronted by more than one? (I'm thinking about Lonar's Pass).

1) make sure the melee characters are the ones being attacked by them. Anything other than W/? will get hammered very quickly.
2) have 2 monks, to buff the warriors
3) ward against melee, works wonders
I didn't find dual ice wurms all that difficult, then again i just stood off casting meteor storm, fire storm and meteor while letting the hench's take all the damage. Necro's and Mesmers are good too.

How did you get Meteor Shower to work? They go into the earth too quickly.

So in other words we keep on them until they die, instead of trying to run past or breaking off when it gets hard.
Thanks for the help.

The only problem I find, is the npc numpys don't get out of the way and get brutalised by them. Mind you, even I find that difficult when I'm getting knocked on my ass every few seconds.
I managed one, albeit slowly, with just my wa/mo and the npc healer, granted I had slapped mending on both of us to help her healing. Just a shame I need 4 more drops for my hat ...

looking back it seems i used my holy elementalist build...i think the tactics should be ok in general (though i suppose the extra healing might have helped me).

Hey, John Little, dump Orion and take the Necro henchie... he/she casts Blood Ritual on you to recharge energy!

Worms go up and down 3 times, than they prefer to stay up.
Keep them in melee or you just cant get them.
Worms have a goddamn high armor so armor penetration is a good thing.

You can use someone squishy, but make sure to bring Protective Spirit to cap the damage lower.
And if they glitch and catch you in an endless knockdown chain, there's nothing you can do about it >.> Unless you've got an anti-knockdown stance, at least.

I know the worms in the Dunes mission can be completely crippled with a single Distracting Shot. They don't seem to have a normal attack, only Wurm Seige, which is easy to hit with DS. So you hit them with one, it interrupts, and they can't attack for 20+ seconds.

henchmen choosing to give up 1/3'rd of their hp at random times just doesn't appeal to me usually i choose between the necro and the mesmer, and the mesmer wins. Both are usually the first hench's to die...
Besides, the AoE of the mage is useful on occasions...
Siege wurms are incredibly easy, no real challenge at all, even the ones in the fissure (that are by far the coolest looking wurms e v a r)
this is turning into a wurm appreciation thread i personally think they are the *best* monster in GW, even better than the bone dragons.

The other option is if you use charge, mending, sprint, and an anti knockdown ability, you can solo the way to Droknor's via Lomar's. I saw it done. My W/E is lvl 19, and even with the henchies I couldn't get past them, the ice imps who slow you down, and those bird warrior thingys(begins with an A), and the siege Ice Gollums who congregate in the big underpass a little way into the pass. Whether fighting or sprinting, I couldn't get through. Add the worms, and we were done for.
Anyway, this guy helps us and we watch as he goes all the way without dying. He was a W/Mo and we were amazed. He took five of us through. Mind you, we weren't noobs, but 15+ lvl char builds. He had already accended, and had run this pass a half dozen times already.
Mind you, if you walk back from Droknor's, it doesn't seem so bad. It's mainly this one place that gets me. That and one other slender area that was lined with giants....
I'm running around Augury, and through the desert, and faring much better than those few tough points in the pass. lol
BTW, yes the worms in the desert were easier for me. Much more so. But then again, I wasn't surrounded by a dozen other things either....
