Flare is a good cheap spell. You can always get fireball and immolate aswell if you want to ditch flare, but these are a higher energy cost per cast. Get yourself a nice dmg staff and use conjure fire? or whatever the spell is that increases dmg when you use your staff.

you always keep flare, it gets to about 50damage and is good to fire at enemies when you start getting low on energy, this is always a useful spell.

I highly reccomend conjure flame + a good damage Fire weapon, its just a one-time cast per 60 seconds, and therefore saves a lot of energy for your more energy taxing spells.

That's a LOT of space on the skill bar for a 1-cost flare, IMO. I conjure flame, and let the wand "Flare" for me, saving me energy, and with the fact that armor affects flare, you might as well because with 12 points in Fire, my flares rarely do over 20 dmg to warrior class monsters now ....

But with those to you not only get flare for 1 you also get firestorm for only 2 mana and metor shower for 3. Those 2 spells save you 80% of the cost of ALL fire spells. Well worth it if your a fire ele.

OMG these stack?! Crap.. I need to go try that!
I use flare... it's my spam spell... and run elemental attunement always (well, apart from the 15 seconds of recharge time you have to wait after it dissolves).
Elemental attunement and fire attunement, while taking slots, effectively mean you will not run out of energy in all but the biggest of fights.
Fireball is nice, although I've removed it in favor of Mark of Rodgort. My fire ele skill bar is generally:
flare
firestorm
meteor shower
mark of rodgort
<secondary>
<secondary>
aura of restoration (or signet of capture, or rebirth if i change to /Mo!)
elemental attunement
Let the good times burn!
