They should just use dmg/s so much easier to understand. Lazy asses.
Why are axes good DPS though?

Same attack speed as on sword, max damage bit higher, lots of skills which add to damage. And cyclone axe.
dmg/s is same as damage per second or dps. Just easier to type dps.
(dpe is damage/endurance(point))

dps means nothing compared to knocking down, blinding, weakening, deep wounding, crippling, evading, blocking...

A lot of people would say that dps is more important than conditions, which can be easily removed by a monk or necro, and are almost always removed seconds after they're activated.

it all depends really, hammer skills can easily interupt + do dmg to a spellcaster however u need a big amout of adre for almost every good hammer skill... therefore i would chose axe over hammer

True but if there is a monk present then he can generally heal faster than most DPS, generally its spike damage that does most of the killing (especially if your talking about multi healer group).

IDK, IMO the things that are described are kinda confusing. But, AFAIK, it won't change.

Yeah but for how long? It costs less energy to swing a sword with some simple buffs than to pump out heals.

DPS = Damage Per Second.
Lots of people think that looking at DPS and junk like that is the only important thing. They will regurgitate excel spreadsheets and determine the most efficient build and whatnot, but then it turns out to be shit in play. Don't be a DPS number cruncher!
