worst nightmare came true last night... pickup prot monk in our team decided to cast rebirth on the first character who got spiked while the rest of the team needed protection. When I said don't bring rez, I shouldn't also have to say don't bring vengeance, don't bring unyielding aura, don't bring res signet, don't bring restore life, don't bring light of dwayna, and don't bring godawful rebirth.

Why do people have such a problem with wa/mo. They dont suck. The people who play them are just usually incompetent....
air ele pre made wouldnt really make a difference, most people who use em will have ascended pve characters by now, and some of those templates are alright *waits for head to be cut off* (with a few adjustments).

Really?! A mesmer can beat a caster? I never knew! This whole time I thought Air Elem's were GODS.
Ollj,
Isn't the topic about a premade PvP character? And then maybe your worst nightmare? Not how Awesomely Super Sonic Hyper Omega Leet Excellent of a player you are.
Sure go ahead and make a Premade Spiker. Then watch all the WaMo's become spikers. I love when someone spams "Experienced Paladin LFG." Spikers are not what I fear, because few PUGs have the coordination to pull it off. You will just see a lot more Spikers, and the build will become obsolete. It kinda already is. Spirit spamming is now the new in thing.

lol. as soon as you get called and spiked, you can say goodbye to your mesmer, unless you can stop 3 eles from lightning surge/orb'ing you.

I would hesitate to lable anyone the 'creator' of air spike fotm.
To the subject of the post: It doesn't really matter, air spike is just as hard/easy to both execute and counter as any other build.

I think my worse nightmare is having a teamspeak battle where people actually try to pronounce the Korean names.

3 air eles are scary even in the hands of newbies, but they are also easy to counter even in the hands of pros.
3 earth eles, on the other hands, are very tough to counter when played by people who know what they are doing. I've only seen one really tough earth group, and they are by far tougher than the toughest air group I've seen.

I used to play an earth ele in my guilds GvG build untill we realized that its just as easily counterable as lightning spike. The only difference is earth can do more damage at once. It does not however, make a difference when they are using prot spirit

I think all you guys who seem to have something against Air Eles are just annoyed because you cant kill them or something, if a build works, then good, and if people want to use it, good as long as it works. Just because something is "pre-made" also doesn't make it a bad built, it just means its not the best.

Earth has strong long-range spike in obsidian flame and strong short-range in crystal wave, much stronger than any lightning spell.
Most earth eles our group (which has 3 rangers, 2 monks and 3 air eles) has seen aren't good until we faced this group with something like 3 or 4 earth eles, and they dealt us. They got into our spirit range, they make us move so slow with their wards. Then the next thing, we're dead.

I agree ... and 90% of anyone whose in random pickups that dont have any strategy are going to play the Wa/Mo horribly. Its just common sense. I don't personally mean to throw all of the decent paladins I have played with into the noob group, but its a crowded market with many amatuers and many debuffs/hexes that render Wa/Mo useless ...
we are all just cycling through the many flavours ... soon enough the cards will fall into place and balance restored.
