Which Sword Hilt
Which sword hilt would be ideal for a sword wielding warrior primary? the sword ive got currently has a Furious hilt 9%, but im not really seeing much of an effect with that. I was thinking of using a zealous, but is 1/1 the max ratio for that? ive also got a sundering 10/9, but havent noticed much effect with the 10% penetration.

well... any recommendations on which sword hilt is most effective?
ele dmg?
Furious?
sundering?
zealous?
vampiric?
barbed?
ive tried furious 9, but the effect seems minimal. ive tried sundering 9, the effect also seems pretty low. ive got a zealoous 1:1, but not sure if that is good, or if its the max zealous mods go to. vamp seems pretty good if i combo it with something like live vicariously n hundred blades, but i need to get myself a 3:1. and barbed im not sure about... how much longer is the bleed effect for that?

I've always been fond of the Zealous and occasionaly Vampiric. Furious at 10% is good when combined with Battle Rage, its not constant but randomly you'll get double adrenaline.

Not sure on this since I'm not very experienced with my warrior yet, but Zealous is maxed at 1:1. If I were to pick I'd say go for a high sundering, but I've never tested these out much.

I may be wrong, but don't elemental hilts bypass the +physical bonus on armors?

hmmm... is it worth it to replace my furious 9% with a zealous?
and i sorta dont like the elemental ones because elemenntalists all have armor vs elements, and i wont be targeting warriors much.

Yah but they can still be affected by elemental armor, which a creature/player may have more of.

Zealous = Probably Not
Vampiric = Only if you have a good one with +speed attack
Barbed = Useful, but there's better.
Sundering = Even with a perfect 10/10, theres technically only a +1% to the overall damage, not worth it. (10% chance of penetrating 10% of armor = 1% total dmg)
Furious = It's okay, i'm not sure how great it is to get an extra adreniline point 10% of the time.
Elemental = Probably the one I would choose, works best with the less common elements like earth. The elemental dmg will bypass +dmg against physical, however it might put you at a disadvantage against certain ranger armors. Not many elementalist monster/players that i know of use earth so that's good to go with IMO.

I would actually suggest using 2 swords and switch between them as needed -
1 sword with an elemental hilt (probably earth unless you have a reason to use another element e.g. you use conjure element or others you know use mark of rodgort, glimmering mark or spinal shivers or the like)
Another physical damage sword. Which hilt for this, though? I can't say which ones are really great, but there are some really bad ones. Low-rating vampiric ones are awful and sundering is terrible.
Vs rangers or when using weaken armour or mark of pain (or other spells that are triggered/affected by physical damage) or the like use the physical one
Vs warriors and the like use the elemental sword. Some mes's and monks use armour that is +10 vs physical, so this may help a little with them too.
Given the choice, I'd probably go for either zealous or perhaps for a cruel hilt (not mentioned, but it lengthens deep wounds - a great condition to inflict) depending on your skill setup.
However, you need to remember that the best hilt is the one that best fits your skills - a furious hilt is at its best if you have lots of adrenaline skills, and a zealous hilt is at its best if you are using lots of energy during fights.

Depending on your build, I suggest either a zealous hilt, especially if you're using energy based attacks, or energy moves from your secondary, but a +5 vampiric is never a bad choice either, since it's not the fact you're stealing 5 HP that makes it good, it's the fact that you're adding +5 damage to every swing. Furious at 10% is a decent choice, but that really only shines with hammer builds, with swords, you swing fast enough that adrenaline generally isn't as large an issue.
