Some Scientologists told me that Thetans were controlling my mind the other day, doesn't mean I believed them.
This post belongs in the Gladiator's Arena, but... Warriors are not weak, it's not a fact and everybody who says it is mistaken. And questions like "does warriors still rock?" will get you nowhere. Like every other class, warriors rock when and where you enable them to with wise selection of skills and tactics, and a strong team to back you up. Identify what your problems are and try to counteract them.

The one's I've fought haven't been weak. They've actually been insanely hard for me to stop. I did have a nice young warrior come after me and then I threw Imagined Burden on him and he stopped, turned around, and ran (walked) away.... pretty funny.

Pretty much what he said right there. If you didn't quite understand it though, i'll just give you the simplest answer I can think of.
"YES"
Of course this is said only by me, just one warrior, so don't believe it if you don't wish to.

Warriors are very strong and can achieve the highest dps in the game but there are many ways to slow/stop their damage via blind, sof, enfeeble, ward of melee, etc.

My warrior is fairly strong. I have a few choice elementalist skills I use from time to time that make things interesting.
However, I do have a question since the topic has been brought up here. What can a warrior class do to counter disabling or restrictive hexes cast on him/her? I find my greatest weekness is indeed against things like blind, and multiple conjure phantasms(PvE). Do we have any way to disrupt or shorten the duration of these very efficient troublemakers on those who have a warrior primary?

For the sake of the US education system I hope that either you are under the age of 8 (in which case you've done a good job getting on the forums and posting) or English isn't your primary language (in which case you're doing better than I am at speaking two languages).
[/soap box]
5E/3Mo will always be around because it is a simple strategy to play and execute at a level that allows you to win through brute force (this doesn't mean there aren't many subtle nuances to 5E/3Mo that differentiate one from another making just one decent and the other a HoH throne defending champion for hours).
W are difficult to play in PvP for many reasons....
1. How many skills block/evade melee attacks? How many do the same for spells?
2. How many skills slow/cripple/otherwise prevent you from entering melee range to use said attacks? How many good counters to those does a W have?
3. How much AC does an E have with 16 Air, 11 ES, and 9 Earth using Armor of the Earth and still nuking away with their Air? How much does your W have? Can a W even afford to cast AoE if they are W/E?
4. How much damage does a blind W do? How much does a blind E do? How can a W cure themselves from blind?
Figure out how to overcome those things through your own build or the build of the team that you're on and a W can be a great asset just as any proper piece in a puzzle can.

It's really more about how smart the player is than the class itself.
Every warrior should play a caster for a few days to understand that we don't have an armor as good as theirs (at least not all the time) and that casters do need to recharge occasionally before the next fight, and that probably none of us will survive if they pull 20 enemies at once.
As for PvP, many warriors I saw simply rush to the front and pick one target, becoming blind to everything else, including their own health bar.
I did see one or two good ones though.

A good of set of skills and good knowledge of play is a good warrior.
Going in to battle like "ARGHH I have uber armour, I will kill all coz I iz w/mo and I rule!!" is suicidal, i've seen alot and most charge in saying things like "stayback and heal me i'll handle them" I mean WTF this teamplay.
They can get good DPS but elementalist will always be the highest damage dealers. A smiting monk could probably come second then maybe a warrior.
Warriors have consistent DPS, that I agree. Are they Meatshields? Like a big salami

I think you should always have warriors and casters in a team build. You need casters for the high burst DPS they throw out, and Warriors because they have the sustained DPS.

Warriors are definately not weak, but they fit into a special niche that no other class can. If you look at the new trends in builds, degen and energy denial are becoming more prevalent, and in builds such as these, warriors are the most consistent form of dps besides the degens themselves.
Air eles and monks will always be around because they are easy to coordinate (or at least can get the most results with the least coordination). Warriors were not designed to be spike damage, but they offer different tactical options.
Pros/Cons of a warrior:
Pros:- Takes the most damage before dying (in general, not special cases)
- Gets targeted last -- You can be creative and tricky with your build without getting targetted
- Depending on the weapon build can do anything from bleed, to daze, to cripple
- Not reliant on energy
- Sprint/rush/charge/etc
Cons:- Easy to counter with ward against foes, cripple, weakness
- Does not do spike damage
I am sure there are more pros and cons to be discussed with a warrior, but what it comes down to is that the GW warrior isnt as simple as your everquest warrior, and never will. The key to playing an effective warrior is bringing skills that accentuate those of your teammates. For example, lets say you bring an earth ele with earthquake and aftershock and have 2 warriors with aftershock. With coordination, you are talking about approximately 500 ae damage. Or take a W/Me with echo, for great justice and fear me! This warrior is able to drain around 30 energy from all enemies around him in 20 seconds. With quickening zephyr and a zealous weapon these skills can almost be spammed an entire map. Those are just basic examples of what a warrior can do, but if you are looking for pure damage, an elementalist will always be better, so you are forced to think on a larger scale about what helps a team.

I am a smart Warrior with common sense, therefore I am actually decent in PvP. I have 3 vs 1 a couple times and come out winning, but only in randomized teams. With a real GOOD team I would never stand a chance. Warriors are not "deemed" AS important in PvP mainly because:
1. Most Warriors suck.
2. Since most Warriors suck, it has lead to the downgrading of the importance of the Warrior.
Therefore I like dumplings.

It's not just that most warriors suck, but that most warriors aren't part of a concerted team strategy. I had a warrior in my guild griping about how a build I created didn't bring a warrior and we ended up trying the build except with his warrior to replace one of the main damagers. It was a horrible flop as I expected and he decided to criticize my build because of it. Warriors can be excellent, but are the most dependant class I've played with. They need so many skills from teammates to really excel in the same way that most mesmers need constant monk attention to do their jobs. Add to that the fact that they have to run away from their healers simply in order to do their jobs and sometimes run too far.
