Armor spells working?
question...
I was facing off in the arena with a warrior level 8 who was doing 45 points a hit to me...
I was 7
I had the Elementalist Armor 30 and Armor of Earth for +31.
How in the world could a person do that?
Thanks.

also despite the fact that I rained fire on him and did laval font his health never moved...
I suspect he had access to equipment he should not have bar being run to some place.

Hmm. What sort of weapon was he using? Still, that sounds like an awful lot of damage for a warrior to be doing per-hit, every time. In PvP, I've run a few hammer-wielding warriors that could do around 50 or 60 per hit to other spellcasters, but that's due mostly to high strength and having an elemental haft. I suspect lag or something like that could be to blame.

Armor spells do work, 61 armor isn't neccesarily really alot, 45 points is only possible per regular hit if you were running away. If you were standing still, then he could only achieve it that high by means of a good skill. Was he sword/axe/hammer?

With Droknar's armor, and a Perfect(lvl. 8 req) axe I see this happening. Just shake it off. The chance to Pwnzor teh noobs will lead people to do almost anything.

You're in the ascalon arena, right? Back in the day when I was level 6-10, 40 damage on a caster seems about right. Thats what I was hitting with a 14-20 damage sword. Heck, my ranger uses a max dmg collectors bow from the desert in there, and I've hit 218 damage on a mesmer with read the wind + dual shot. Its because armor in the ascalon arena for non-tanks is pretty low.
As for him not taking damage, he was probably using droknar armor. Hey, atleast it isnt as lame as the people i've been seeing in there with elementalists using elite skills. Yeah, I saw someone using lightning orb, chain lightning, thunderclap, and such. Man, some people are really lame in the arena. Because of them, I have to bring an assload of mana burns on my R/Me =P
And with a perfect axe against 61ar, 70 damage is about what you'd see. I've had it done to me before =P

I think the number of azzhats in low level arenas went up because of the stupid faction points in PvP.

Yes... they all took the time to get run to droknor's, buy good armor, hunt for elite skills, and have a perfect weapon, all to get 9 faction points per round. Because it's not like they'd just create a PvP char and do random arena. I mean come on, it would only take 333 consecutive wins to get that next elite skill.

I dunno...with the right build and beefed up equipment, you could tear it up in that low level arena in less than a minute. If you manage to clock it in at 30 seconds a win, you could be unlocking one skill per hour. A beefed up air ele with max stat equipment and superiors could tear up 30armor targets like no tomorrow. Of course you'd eventually hit lvl 10 and have to move on, but oh well, just start over?

there have been a lot of players hopping on taxi rides in beacons perch n get run to dronkars forge where they can buy end game armour there. some of the less moral minded will not hesitate to own at low lvl arenas using good armour. if you want to avoid the grief, just dont play in the low lvl arenas.
