439 points of damage with a single shot! Better?
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering. Last night I was playing just for the fun of it with Henchmen, and at some point during a battle, with a single shot, I killed four Ghouls, doing 439 points of damage to 6 of them, that is:
Barrage + Conjure Frost with a max damage Icy bow, 6 arrows. Is it possible to inflict more damage with a single action, be it spell or anything else?
I suspect that a high level Elementalist can probably do that. Post your images, take screenshots if you can.

Nice.
Put about 7 or 8 levels into ice and when you are crowded by a bunch of scarbs and let loose with a frozen burst. Hit 8 of them (possible depending on the argo conditions) and you'll do about 400 dmg total or more.

Well, I just completed the game, and I have to admit that Barrage + Conjure Frost really rocks! Those Titan Hands were falling like flies. I wish I had the reflexe to take a screenshot, but combined with Favorable winds, man, I must have done more than 500 points of damage with a single shot.
I still want to see your screenshots of damaging shots.

Thanato,
How can this be possible? Can someone explain here? Same thing for you, Alexander Makedonon. How can you make 5577 damage? My original question was "with a single shot, blow or spell, not total damage over time. And if you can make 5577 damage in one shot, you have to tell us how.

you can't make a "single shot" with professions like monk, elementalist or mesmer
in the griffons picture, the damage is done with 1 clic (just 1 clic on "balthazar's aura)
maybe it could be considered as a "single shot"

Ppl the best dmg is to run around an area in old ascalon getting around 50charr on you once they get close, just cast an inferno. You would do 200some damage to each of them. Boom 10,000dmg from 1 spell. To make sure you dont die, have dodge stances like a r/ele would work nicely with whirling defence.

I beg to differ.
Shatter Hex with a high level domination mesmer can generate some nice numbers.
I haven't gone to the effort of pulling lots of mobs to try for max damage, but I hit a group of around 10 with a shatter hex doing around 120 - 240 damage pet target, depending whether I got a critical.
That's around 2000 right there. Wouldn't be too difficult to imagine doubling that if I could be bothered rounding up a larger group of targets.
Of course, you have to be hexed for this example to work, but with Charr necro's that's usually not a problem.

If it is considered a SINGLE strike, I'd love to see the numbers when using aftershock on a knocked down group of Charr. They have very low armor, which means you're better of with spells that do use armor in the damage calculation (instead of things like shatter hex which does ignore armor). A maxed aftershock does like 180 damage against AL 60, that should be well over 300 against lightly armored Charr. Pack 20 around you and you've got your big number

hmmm I like that idea Mitsu. Might have to go try it out tonight and see what I can come up with.
Wonder if this would work: Gale to knockdown, and then echo aftershock.
Haven't tried it yet so not sure if it's possible to get in two AS's by the time things get up, but it'd sure be hurty if you could!

That's not a single shot, that's 6 shots. Nice try.
You people need to stop posting this, "I DID 6000000 DAMAGE IN A SINGLE SHOT!" stuff when you're using high-level AoE skills on lowbie monsters. Pull it off on a player, then come back.

Yes I realise that it's more that the one shot originally specified in the thread, but I was curious as to whether it would work or not.
I can't comment on pulling that off on a player as I have absolutely no desire to PvP.

You also get a bonus to damage on targets lower level than you, hence why you hit for such high numbers.

well mine isnt truely one shot it was a combination of cyclone axe and hitting bonetti's defense as soon as its charged while enchanted with zealot's fire and a few other enchantments. technically it is one attack, subtract 1/3rd the numbers and you'll have only my cyclone axe showing.
over 5k damage "could" be possible, but it would take a huge mob and a rather large spell i believe lol.
