Think Ele is the way to go for 2 man smite runs in UW? Think again.
I get sick of tired of Fire eles getting into all the 2-3 man smite runs in UW. There is a better alternative and thats me. If you have a teammate to hold all the agro, I can kill all 3 groups of Grasping Darknesses in less 2 spells, or about 5-7 seconds. 4 or more Bladeds on the tank? 15 seconds. Smite Crawlers? 8 or less seconds. I am a Necro/Mesmer and I hate fire eles.
Heres the build for UW Smite runs the necro way.
16 Curses
10 Illusion
9 Soul Reaping
Skills:
Spiteful Spirit
Mark of Pain
Insidious Parasite
Price of Failure
Desecrate Enchantments
Arcane Echo
Anything you want here.
Res Sig
Get whoever is going to tank to grab as many foes as he can handle. If its a warrior have him call and attack a target, if its a monk dont worry about it. Cast Spiteful spirit on a foe that is attacking. For Bladeds cast Spiteful Spirit then Insidious Parasite, Price of Failure. If the warrior has called a target now cast Mark of Pain on it. For Smite Crawlers Arcane Echo and Spiteful Spirt x2, If the smite uses smite hex, use desecrate enchantments while you wait for Spiteful to recharge and try again.
With this build you 1 or 2 other people, usually a prot monk for the 2 man group or a warrior and healer monk for 3 man group, you can destroy groups of enemies so fast, its insane.
For now on if you see a necro looking for UW smite, ask him what his build is. If its what I explained or similar invite him because you will get better results then a damn elemental.
Hope this opens the eyes of all you Smite farmers out there so that I can join groups easier. Thanks.

the skills does look to be a good combination. definately better than an ele where most of the spells do little dmg to aatxe due to their insane armour.
you could bring arcane echo so you can cast spiteful spirit twice which will hasten the kill. one good thing about necros is most spells do direct dmg which ignores armour.
why do you need epidemic for? not that there are many conditions to spread around. if you use it to mask the other hexes for smite hex, maybe some faster casting hex which is less energy and recharge will help more? or some other mass degen spell like suffering.
*edit*
lol you just added the arcane echo
also, having a warrior tank who uses dodgy tactics will help with price of failure

Trappers can also go as groups of 3. Haven't done a group of 2 yet, but I bet it'd be possible with well placed traps.

hehe, i guess the OP is pretty sick of the old monks + eles group. Hopefully this'll make UW (or FoW) groups more varied =D

Price of Failure and Insidious don't seem to make much sense on the called target. You want your source of AOE to survive as long as possible. Both those spells kill that one source of AoE quickly... As long as they are off targets it will work, but it will be a rather insignifigant source of damage compared to Spiteful and Mark of Pain. If you can Arcane Echo Mark of Pain onto a second target and the warrior is using Cyclone Axe, you get some impressive AoE damage.

Heheh I just said cast Spiteful on an attacking foe, not the one that is being attacked. If you cast it on on of the Bladeds that sometimes stand there and wait there turn to get in to fight it wont do nothing for ya.

Uhhh, Spiteful is alright on the main target since it causes AoE damage. I'm talking about Price of Failure and Insidious Parasite.

Not sure how it compares, but Feast of Corruption can be quite sexy too. Echo that and cast shadow of fear, I don't know how much damage that is at 16 curses.

A meteor shower hit less than 50 with full fire on aatxe (<15 for firestorm) , even less on coldfire (<10 for firestorm), let alone the long recast/cast time
By the time the first metor hit N's spell already did 200 dmg with spiteful + mark of pain
FOC did 120 dmg with 16 curse, with 20s recast I think Spiteful is more useful here (10s recast + longer duration)

Lure the coldires out of their ward. Then drop the spells.

Soneone has a high opinion of themselves. Your stats and spell arn't all that good. My lvl 20 Pyromancer goes down for runs like no ones buisness. It's not our fault that our skills are good for killing multiple enemies at once. Suck it up. We are just made for those kind of things. Like Warriors are made for close combat, we are made for AoE (Area of Effect) spells. We rock at runs. Don't blame us for that.
