I actually thought this thread worked rather well. If I convinced 1 person to switch to Frenzy then it's a damn success.

I was just discussing with a guildmate about why his W/R build used tigers fury instead of frenzy, then I stumbled on this thread. Lots of great points in here

To the OP I love watching boneheads use frenzy. They think I dont notice them doing it, I save up adrenaline and burst on their asses. Ill even pull off ac monk sometimes to do it. It totally screws with them to smack into gladiators defense 3 or 4 times before realzing they are destroying themselves......too late, quick turn around galraths slash+final thrust and a purestrike if they survive all that...good bye noob

Frenzy is ok.....but dont think smart players arent watching you. The ability to drop a tank in seconds is might tempting.

Gladiator Defense, as everyone here already knows, is the best elite in the game. All warriors take 3-5 seconds to press a single number as it is often difficult for us to recognize the damage popping up with [GLADIATOR DEFENSE] next to it.

Honestly if I ran into a war using glad defense the only risk here is that I'd be so busy laughing that I might wander too far away from my monks and get down below 2/3rds life.

Seriously dude stop playing arenas or don't post in this thread. I already said this isn't arenas.

mcs... its not as if frenzy is fool proof, and Mhydrian does have some valid points. i think in an 8-8 setting frenzy is by far better, especially if you have a stance to switch out of it. in 4-4, especially random arenas, it all depends. your arrogant attitude almost makes me want to argue again =/

Its not only the energy cost of sprint, its the fact that you use sprint when you dont need it. Sprint has 20sec recharge. Thus when you will need it, you wont be able to use it. This is a huge disadvantage.

How many times have I said already I'm not talking about random arenas or even team arenas.

Doubtful considering you sprint to your next target and continue to sprint until you cripple them then you can start using frenzy because they won't be running away.

No one will waste a coordinated obsidian spike on your warrior, frenzied or not, unless you're the last one alive. No one. If they do, then you've probably won anyway.

No backup? 2 months of playing an axe warrior using frenzy and having it never happen isn't backup enough?

No Sir I don't have to back that up. He has to back up saying that there are groups out there that use obsidian flame on warriors who use frenzy and that is simply a blatant lie.

5 energy is muchos when youve got a crappy 2 pips. mcs = right (atm). you dont take damage, therefore, it doesnt matter.

Not really I haven't been targeted. Maybe at all is a little extreme considering there are always newbs running around who just hit anything with anything. Maybe I should re-word that. I've never LOST to a team using obsidian flame on me.

I wasn't talking to you MCS, was talking to rii. I switch off both from time to time. They are both the same imo. Sacrificing 2-4 strength doesn't really hurt my damage.

It's a good idea, but it very rarely happens. So rarely in fact that people still use Frenzy.

I like watching boneheads use Frenzy too. Lets you spike them out more effectively. I love watching boneheads use Tiger's Fury because it's a sign that I'm about to win. I particularly love it when boneheads activate Gladiator's Defense, because that's the surest sign that said bonehead can be safely ignored until his entire team is wiped out.

I guess in general I just love watching boneheads play, it's always good for a laugh.

I couldn't disagree with this more. When you're running a build that can gank, taking out offensive targets, if you can manage it, is potentially *more* valuable than taking out a Monk. Killing a Monk in a battle of attrition makes it easier to take out the next target, but if you're just spiking it's all about surprise and killing someone before the Monks react. Killing an offensive target is more unexpected than going after a Monk, and taking out important parts of their offense can cripple it, giving your own defense a seriously needed respite.

Oftentimes what you'll see in a long battle is that one team's defenses will break, a Monk will go down, but the res sigs come into play and they're right back into the battle. Then the other team's Monk's will start to break, because even though the opponent's Monks have been hammered on their offense hasn't been hindered at all. Taking out offense when you have the chance should not be underestimated.

Part of the value of Obsidian Flame is that it ignores armor, making it ideal for ganking Warriors and Rangers. If I was running such a spike build and I saw the opportunity, I'd try and spike out their Warriors in an instant. Kills are kills, they build DP and waste resources just the same.
