Monks: Fighting Your Doppelganger
I hope this isn't something people have already posted...
A lot of people seem to have some trouble with fighting their doppelganger as a monk, so I'd like to share the strategy that I used yesterday.
First off, you want have only these 4 skills equiped:
Retribution
Healing Breeze
Symbol of Wrath
Pacifism
Your main attribute focus should be on smiting and divine favor, medium healing, and a little bit of protection.
At the beginning of the battle, cast Retribution, so that he takes damage from attacking you. Then go up next to him, and use Symbol of Wrath, which, along with Retribution, should get him down to about half health. For some reason the Doppelganger doesn't use any of the skills you bring out of this set, so you should be only getting attacked by his axe (his bow before you get close to him for symbol of wrath). So next you should cast Healing Breeze, and then Pacifism, and keep casting Healing Breeze so you get healed from the divine favor, and he will just sit there and not even heal during Pacifism. He should start attacking again a few seconds before symbol of wrath recharges, and when it does you should be around one-third health or so. Use it, and he should die fast. I had a mix of jungle desert and desert collector's armor when I did this, so it may be easier if you have better armor on you when you do it.

i did it at lvl 17. i used balts aura (not everyone will have this since you get it from Bartoch at Droks), symbol of wrath, heal breeze, banish and bane sig.
cast heal breeze just before you enter
charge next to him put up balts and wrath then smite him into the ground.
easy peasy

yea if you have balth aura then its good to use, i didnt. the problem with banish and bane signet is that he uses them too, and somehow they were doing more damage than for me at smiting 13... weird; pacifism is still useful if you dont kill him with the first round of attacks, though if you have bathazar's aura and symbol of wrath and a decent rating in smiting you should be able to kill him with just that and retribution.

Necros are the easiest. Take two spells and just sit there. You win in under 10 sec.

This is how my level 17 wa/mo did it... Probably not the best way -
it took at least 10-15 tries but maybe it'll give someone else an idea:
Skills: retribution, healing breeze, pacifism, banish & symbol of wrath:
skill-levels: healing prayers: 9, smiting: 10, prot: 7, div: 3
Before you enter cast retribution - recharge to full, cast healing breeze
and immediately enter - skip the movie.
Immediately Press c (target closest) +banish, run to him and cast symbol
of wrath.
You might have to cast a new healing breeze now. Wait untill symbol of
wrath does no more damage and cast pacifism - dont do anything now.
Just let your skills & health recharge.
When he begins to attack again (or your skills are charged), cast banish
and symbol of wrath again - and down he goes +50.000 exp

Vig spirit, Scourge healing... dead doppel.
Or, abuse your secondary.
Me: Bring usless hexes, smite hex, shatter hex, don't cast the usless hexes. People have also mentioned abusing the fact that degen does not trigger Illusion of Weakness. Before entering the fight, cast it, heal, then enter. Once in, use nothing but degen spells, do not attack it. It'll cast IoW, and then die of degen.
R: Bring 6 spirits, two attacks. Watch as the doppel casts all 6 spirits before attacking. Better yet, take those 30 seconds to kill it.
W: Bring frenzy.
N: As previously stated, Awake the Blood + Sacrifice spells.
Ele: Meteor Shower and Fire Restoration is all you need. The doppel will cast Fire Atunement first, you cast Meteor Shower first. Game over. Alternativly, and this may be fixed by now, but at one point your doppel was brillant enough to cast Iron Mist on you. Even if it dodn't have acess to air spells.

In general, pure damage alone won't kill it. Now boon spam might work, as the AI won't do that, but Balth's Aura, and other pure smiting builds are going to hurt.

Retribution, Healing Breeze, the rest of your bar empty.
Cast Retribution on yourself and wand away (preferably with a max dmg wand). Healing Breeze for when you really need it.
