Riposte and Deadly Riposte for PVE
Who actually uses these besides me? I don't see it in any of the builds here. I think Riposte is great, it is only 4 adrenaline and it blocks. People abuse the hell out of Gladiator's Defense, but it is an elite skill with high recharge which is why I don't like it.
Deadly Riposte is like sever artery vs. all melee damage, WITH damage and has a 5 energy cost.
I know these two skills may seem mediocre, but considering mostly all the sword skills are just adding damage (like Final Thrust), aren't these two worth considering since many people have high tactics?

Gladiator's Defense
Bonetti's Defense
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
"Watch Yourself!"
Shield Stance
Zealot's Fire
Free Slot

They're worth considering for pve possibly, but for any type of pvp... no, they're not worth considering at all.

Yes Eowne, I know. That's because people use stuff that cannot be blocked or evaded
such as pure strike and seeking blade

I don't follow you, sorry. Why would another warrior be attacking you?
I meant that they're not worth considering at all because there's no such thing as a warrior "tank" in pvp.

I don't think either of these skills is particularly useful. In PvP Warriors don't get attacked, and even if you put this skill on a Warrior secondary it isn't going to help a whole lot - one block every 5 seconds or so, with damage being assigned to one of the Warriors attacking you? Whatever.
In PvE I don't think it does enough - there you're usually looking at taking on mobs, so you're getting attacked by several enemies at once. One block every 5 seconds or so isn't going to do a whole lot.
I do think Riposte is potentially very good in 1v1 situations - problem being, there aren't many 1v1 situations in this game. If there was ever a 1v1 arena implemented Warriors would love this skill (even if 1v1 is all about Mesmers), and if you're trying to solo I guess it isn't that bad.
Basically the skills just doesn't scale in any useful fashion and just don't do enough to justify the slot.
Peace,
-CxE

I never step foot into the UW without them both. Even with a 75% chance to block, I'd rather not take any chances when I'm at -40AL because of Healing Signet. I know how much those aatxe do from experience.
